💛 Chapter 24: Empty 💛
~~~~~~~~~Third Person POV~~~~~~~~~
How long had it been...? An hour...? Two...? She didn't know...
She only ran...
And ran...
And ran...
Even when her legs ached...
Even when her lungs burned...
She just needed to save them, her family needed to be safe...
But things kept getting in her way...
Monsters (y/n) couldn't even begin to imagine kept chasing her, tormenting and taunting her with their laughter, as if mocking her, thinking that she could never reach her goal.
It brought tears to her eyes, so many of them, but she didn't care. She didn't look back.
That is, until many surrounded her, forcing her to stop as she looked around, her mind racing as she thought of how to escape.
But that was where her limits reached. She had ran so much, and fought against her exhausted for so long, that her body and mind both gave in. She passed out in the middle of the monsters, who only laughed at the sight, as if she were some comedy act.
When she woke up, everything around her was unfamiliar. She was behind iron bars, and the other three walls around her were made of dark gray mossy breaks, the air cold and heavy. She hugged herself, shivering at the cold rush of air that flew in though the tiny window just a few bricks above her head, standing up in front of the bars.
Around her were only more of these tiny rooms, which although she hated to admit it, seemed like prison cells. The thought sent a shiver down her spine, trying to peek around as much as she could.
Only loud cackles from outside the walls were heard, echoing through the halls as a few tears escaped her eyes.
This... this couldn't be the end... it just couldn't...
Bill stared up at the brand new Fearamid that had appeared far in the distance. He needed something to mark where he was, but the only thing he felt was regret. Dipper and Mabel both had trouble trusting this demon, for obvious reasons, but still somehow knew he wasn't lying.
He was so different now compared to last year. He wasn't cocky, nor confident, he didn't throw jokes all the time, and he wasn't overestimating himself like usual.
Quiet.. He barely spoke, and only floated around with an empty expression in his eyes, as if he were nothing more than a shell, his spirit gone for good.
Just how much did he care for (y/n)..?
And if so, why would he do all this..?
What was his story..?
"It's too long for you to hear it right now." Bill replied to the twins' thoughts, both of them tensing up a little.
Mabel gave a small. "Well, we have time right now! Can't you give a summary?"
After a few seconds, he floated in front of the young twins, his expression serious. "You see me as a demon with no worries, who only does things like this for fun, right?"
They hesitated, but Dipper nodded for an answer.
"Well the 'for fun' part is right, I do it because I want to feel fun."
"What do you mean?" Mabel tilted her head in curiosity.
"You don't know what it's like to float endlessly throughout space after billions of years, the boredom and loneliness that surrounds you, and the feeling of emptiness that takes over you. I wanted to cause chaos because I want to feel something different. Whether it's joy, or sadness, or anger, or confusion, or frustration, I don't care! I just wanted to feel something other than emptiness!"
Both twins could only stare as the demon bares his fangs in anger, or maybe just sadness, they couldn't tell. Either way, they felt horrible for him.
Immortality was always glorified in this world, how awesome would it be to live forever with no limits?
But he brought a good point. Years and years of just wandering on your own, watching everyone around you grow old and die over and over again. It was a horrible thing to think about..
Mabel then gave him a warm smile. "And (y/n) made you happy..?"
Bill didn't reply immediately, soon looking down in thought. "... yeah.. she really did.."
Her smile then turned into one with determination. "Then you need to save her as soon as possible!"
Not noticing the smile that grew on his own face, he nodded. "Yeah."
Dipper crossed his arms, still not fully trusting the guy. "Where would she be anyways?"
"If my goons have taken her?" He turned to the huge pyramid that floated in the sky. "She's at the bottom floor of my Fearamid. The dungeons."
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
