"Well it's good to know you're enjoying your time there, (y)!" Chase said in a cheerful tone.

I chuckled a bit. "Yeah, and I really can't thank you enough. When I get back, we'll go out for food, on me."

"Sounds promising! But we'll plan soon, I promised my mom I'd help her with painting the outside of her house."

"Alright, bye Chase."

"See ya!" With that, he hung up the phone.

It had only been a few hours since Bill showed me that gorgeous map of the universe, but I told him to give me some privacy and haven't seen him since, which gave me a chance to call Chase and catch him up on things.

Obviously I didn't tell him about Bill, the monsters, and the craziness that this town apparently brought along. That was something I'd keep to myself.

I sat back down on my bed with a sigh. Being honest? I kinda wanted to go back home, back to my small apartment and my heavy studies, just to get away from all this craziness.

"Craziness is one way to put it." I jumped at the voice, soon letting out a sigh in annoyance as I recognized it.

I looked over, seeing Bill appear sitting on the chair in the corner, a cup of something in his hand. "I told you I wanted some privacy."

"You forget I can't be away from you for so long."

"You left for days just a bit ago."

"Ehhhh...."

I stood back up with a glare. "Were you spying on me?!?"

"What? No! I was just casually floating around this place."

With a small huff, I sat back down. God this guy was unbelievable!

"Thank you!" He grinned.

"Wha- Stop reading my thoughts!!"

He simply laughed. "No promises."

"I hate you so much."

"You wouldn't be the first." He placed his cup on a sudden tiny plate that appeared beside him, both disappearing as he looked back at me. "Anyways, you're really thinking of living so soon?"

"I'm not used to all this madness, it's too much for me." I rested my head on my pillow. "I've always had a simple life. A simple home, simple friends, simple town, simple school. That's my life."

"Well, simple is very boring if you ask me."

I looked at him, rolling my eyes. "Well you're an All knowing demon man."

He shrugged. "True. But from what I've seen and done, a simple life becomes boring very quickly. Adding some excitement to it? Not only does it give you more open doors, but it also lets you enjoy the simpler moments in life more often."

I thought about that for a moment. In a way, he was.. right..?

"Whoa.. That's pretty deep.."

"I'm not a shallow idiot, (f/g). When you've lived for billions of years, you learn a thing or two."

"And you've never met a fellow billion year demon to spend your immortal life with?"

After a second or two of silence, I looked over to him. He stared at the ground with a distant expression, the eye that wasn't covered by his hair hazy.

It was strange..

Soon though, he leaned back on the chair, crossing his arms as he looked at me. "No, no immortal demons to share my life with."

"That was a long pause.."

"I have too many memories in my head."

I stayed quiet, there was obviously something bothering him, but I wasn't gonna pry. His usual smile soon returned, standing up. "What if I could convince you to stay here a little longer?"

"How so?"

He walked over to me, offering a hand. "Do you trust me?"

I looked at his hand, then back at him. "... not in the slightest bit."

"I've saved your life."

He had a point..

With a sigh, I placed my hand in his. "Just this once."

"Alrighty then!" He pulled me up, picking me up in his arms as I squeaked in surprise, holding on to his tux out of instinct.

I already regret this!
