Dreams
A/N: Oh my god, I'm back again! Hey peoples! Here's chapter ten!!! A few things about this chapter in particular:
1. I have a headcanon that Horace can see people's most notable experiences in his dreams. I'm going to use it with, guess who!
2. This chapter contains sexual abuse, child abuse, depression, and death. If you have any problems with the following, I advise you not to read past this paragraph.
3. Just a warning this chapter is going to be extremely dark and serious. It will also mainly be in 3rd person.
~~~~Horace's POV~~~~
After a long night of trick-or-treating, I plunked down onto my bed for a long night's rest. I closed my eyes and drifted into a nice slumber...
~~~~3rd Person~~~~
A young girl walked down the street. She appeared to be 13 or 14, with a small stature and red, flowing hair. She made her way into a drug store to pick up medication for her mother,and unbeknownst her, three men watched her.
They were large men, all above six feet and burly, clearly no size for the small teenage girl. She then emerged from the drug store, and one of the three men grabbed her.
She screamed, kicked, punched, and cried as he dragged her to the others, but no one heard her. He pulled her into a car and shoved her down. They all stared down at her, like predators to prey. She was beautiful, red shiny hair, big blue eyes, and a cute petite stature. She began to cry even more, knowing she was no match for the men.
One of the men brushed a piece of hair out of her face.
"What's your name, beautiful?" He asked her. She glared at him and said nothing.
"Honey, I'd say my name, or it'll only be worse." He whispered into her ear. She cried, defeated.
"Victoria" She said, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Victoria." He repeated. "What a beautiful name, for a beautiful girl." She choked on her sobs as he began to graze his finger down to her hips and ripped her shirt off.
~
They had left her alone in the car, naked and abused. Every single one of them had their way with her, mentally scaring her for life.
She had tried to fight back with one while he was undressing. She had bite his arm until it bled and tried to run away, but they caught her and beat her. She was still crying, not wanting to go home and face her mother and step-father. She wanted to talk to someone who would care for once, for they only seemed to care about her younger sister, Eliza.
She had friends, good friends, but she didn't think they would understand. After all, they were only 13, 12, and 11.
She finally decided it was time to leave the spot where she was forced to pleasure three men. She gathered up what was left of her clothes, and made her way home, to tell her mother what happened to the medicine.
~~~
"Don't worry ma'am, he's in good hands. Take care." A young boy around the age of ten sat on the couch in his new foster mother's apartment. He didn't like the look of things. There was old pizza boxes piled up in the kitchen and a muggy smell in the air. He didn't trust it. Or her.
Once she closed the door, she turned to the boy and said,
"Okay, kid, I hope you know how to make Ramen, because that's the only thing we've got." She then left for her room, leaving the young boy to himself.
~
About a week had passed since he had been left at the apartment and things had only became worse. The woman was a day drinker, taking in about a bottle everyday, and smoked what ever she could get her hands on. The boy always avoided her, he would leave at about seven thirty in the morning for school, and linger at the park until ten at night. She didn't even notice his presence.
One night, he came home to find her passed out on the couch, a needle in her arm. He immediately called the cops, not having the heart to let her die.
Firefighters quickly came into the apartment, revived her with narcan, angering th lady.
She blamed the boy as she came down from her high. She grabbed him and strangled him as the firefighters held her back. He broke free and ran out of the apartment building, and to his friends house.
"Luke!" He said as he banged on his best friend's window.
"Max!" The young boy said opening th window. "What are you doing here?" He asked, letting his friend in.
"Dude, it was terrible!" Max said, sitting down on his friend's bed. "The lady looking after me was a druggie! She overdosed and I called 911. The firefighters came in and got her off her high, but she strangled me, man." He said.
"Luke, who are you talking to?" The sound of a woman's voice echoed the room. The woman entered, seeing Max's abused neck.
"Max!" She cried. She ran towards him and hugged him, letting her cry on her shoulder.
"He was hurt by a druggie, mom." Luke said.
"Oh Lord, Max, I wish you could live with us, but I can't provide for you." She said. She began to cry as well. "I can't give you a good life."
"Please take me!" He said, holding her tighter. "I'm not much. I'll be good! Don't make me go back!" The woman only hugged tighter.
~~~
"Percy, is everything going to be okay?" A little girl around the age of three asked her older brother.
The boy was about the age of 15. He had Sandy brown hair, bright blue eyes, and was wearing a black suit. He and the little girl were currently at a funeral. The little girl had red eyes from the crying she had been doing. The boy looked unhappy, but his face was dry.
"I don't know Rosie. I don't know." He said. He picked her up and put her on his hip, letting her rest there.
"Why did mommy have to die?" She whimpered.
"Because some things are awful, Rose." He said.
She continued crying on his chest as seven figures appeared. They appeared to be his age, or maybe a bit older. They came to where he was at, a grave. The grave read:
'Cassandra Posey
1976-2012
Wife, mother, sister, daughter'
"Hey." One of the girls spoke, alerting Percy.
"Hey, Em." He said. Awkward silence filled the air as they stood there, looking at the grave. Percy was mainly focused on one word on the grave 'Posey'. Why was that there? It wasn't her name. It should be 'Markley' not 'Posey'.
"Mom isn't happy about that either." One of the boys said.
"What?" He asked.
"Posey instead of Markley. It was her real name after all." The boy said. Percy nodded. He swayed his sister some more, who had passed out crying.
"Poor thing." A girl with red hair said, stroking some of Rose's hair out of her face.
"It's been the hardest on her." Percy said. The girl nodded. "She probably misses her the most." The boy said, his voice cracking. The third girl noticed his sadness and hugged him as he began to cry.
"She's going to grow up without a mom." He cried. "No kid should have that. I grew up without a dad, and it was sucky, but it's going to be worse without her." The others began crying now. "She'll only have her sisters, but hell knows if they'll care. I can't help her! I don't know girl stuff! She won't even be able to remember her!" He then broke down sobbing into his sister's hair, waking her up.
"What's the matter Percy?" The little girl asked.
"Nothing, Rosie. I just miss mom." He said. The little girl nodded, starting to brush the tears out of her brother's eyes.
"Hey, Towi." The little girl said, noticing her favorite babysitter.
"Hey Rosie. How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Bad." The little girl said. "I miss my mama." She said.
"I miss her too." The redhead said.
"Why are you crying, too?" She asked.
"Because of how much I'm going to miss your mama." She said.
The little girl yawned again and went back to sleep on her brother's arm.
"We should probably go. It looks like rain." Percy spoke up. They got up and nodded, going under a tent where they were having an after party. Half the attendants were drunk.
After dropping of the girl with her sober grandmother, Percy made his way to a table where his friends sat.
"You going to be okay Percy?" A boy asked.
Percy shrugged "I guess. But it's kinda hard." He looked outside the tent and to his mother's grave. "She was the only family I had."
~~~
"Trey!" A young girl with violet hair screamed. A teenage boy was picking her up and lifting her on his shoulders. The girl looked to be around 15, the boy 16. She laughed as he swung her up.
"Hey, Talia." He said smirking up at her.
"Put me down, you idiot!" She squealed.
"Nah, it's fun to scare you." He said. She laughed even harder as he swung her legs back and forth.
"You're such a goof." She said.
"But I'm you're goof babe." He said. She kissed his cheek.
~
"Trey!" The girl screamed. She was in the middle of fighting an invisible force with seven other people. They appeared to be losing.
"Natalie! What's going on?" He yelled, helping her up from where she had been thrown by the creature.
"I...can't tell you. Not now anyways. Get out of here! You could be..." She never got to finish her sentence , because one of the invisible tentacles of the creature swooped around Trey's neck, choking him to death.
The girl screamed as the creature sucked his head. She fished out her knife, and stabbed the creature in both eyes.
Once the creature was dead, Trey fell to the ground. She ran to his side and scooped up his head. She shook him violently, trying to wake him. She looked around for her cousin, who could fix his wounds and save him. She was unconscious on the sidewalk. Her miraculous power did not work while she was out. Natalie began to cry even harder, realizing this could be the end.
"Stay with me." She whispered. No response. She cried into his jacket, where blood was spilling everywhere. She had his blood on her clothes, face, and in her hair. She didn't care.
"I love you." She whispered into his injured ear. She kissed his forehead and held him closer, not ready to let go.
A blond teenage boy was staring at them.
' She loved him...' he thought, heartbroken.
~~~
"Elizabeth!" A man screamed. "Where the hell were you?!" A young boy listened to this through his, his sister's, and his best friend's room.
"I worked until 10! I told you that this morning, you moron!" His mother screamed back.
The boy sighed. His best friend noticed this and scooted closer to him.
"It could be worse, you know." His friend said. He shrugged. His sister came to sit down beside him and put her head on his shoulder.
"Wanna play?" She asked. She would always ask for him to play with her when their mother and step-Father fought. He smiled and said,
"Do you want me to be Howie or AJ?" He said. She smiled at him and ran to get her Boy Band dolls. She handed him one and his friend the other.
"Luke, you be Howie, and Max, be AJ. I'll be Nick, Brian, and Kevin. And barbie." She laughed. The boys began playing with her, trying to distract themselves from the fight.
*CRASH*
The three looked up from playing at the sound of the crash. They peeked out their door to see their mother in a puddle of her own blood, on the floor.
The sister cried at the sight as her step father told her to shut up.
"The neighbors could hear you!" He said, picking up his wife. "Let's take her to the hospital." He said. Luke stepped up, mad.
"You pushed her, you son of a bitch!" He yelled. The Man dropped his wife and grabbed the boy.
"What did you call me, you little shit?"
"You heard what I called you! And it's true! Your mom is a bitch!" He said. The Man slapped the boy.
"You pushed my mother! You hurt her! You're such an asshole!" He screamed as the man kept on beating him.
"You should respect your elders, little boy." The Man said.
"I'll never respect you! You're the worst thing that's ever happened to me!" He screamed. He kept on beating him. The boy looked at his sister, who was sobbing next to his mother's unconscious body.
'They shouldn't go through this...' he thought.
~~~
A teenage boy woke uptight sound of his little sister crying. He got up from his couch bed that he shared with his little brother and to the small crib and lifted her up. His mother was passed out at her desk and his father was passed out at the breakfast table. They both worked so hard and were exhausted when they came home.
His newborn sister cried into his shoulder as he rocked her. She was hungry. He made his way to the kitchen of the small apartment and fixed a bottle of formula for her. She drank it happily. He smiled at her. She was probably the light of his life. Well, her and another person...
"Hey TJ" a woman from behind him said. He turned to see his mother, tired and miserable looking.
"Hey mum." He said. She took the baby from him.
"I heard what happened to Natalie." She said feeding her daughter.
"Yeah..." he started. Natalie had just lost her boyfriend to a beast.
"How is the poor darling?" She asked.
"Not good, mum." He said. She nodded and left the conversation at that. Suddenly his phone rang. His phone that he worked six nights a week for. He ran to answer it.
"TJ..." a girl's voice said.
"Tallie, what's up? You never call." He whispered.
"I know... but could you come over to my place?" She asked.
"Yeah, right away." He said, no questions asked. He hung up and ran to get his coat. He explained to his mother and told her good bye and ran to her house.
"Hey" he said as he knocked on her window. She let him in and they sat down on her bed.
"What's up?" He asked.
"I needed someone to talk to... Max and Luke aren't the best listeners, and neither are Percy and Charlie. Emily and Victoria are usually out by ten, and you're usually the one I text when I can't sleep." She said. He nodded. She then pulled him into a hug and cried,
"I'm sorry, it's just I miss him so much!" He stroked her back as she sobbed, trying to calm her down. "I loved him!" She said. This hit him like a shot. He loved her, but she loved another. A dead other.
"Hey, hey calm down. It's okay. I mean it's not, but you know... Hey let's take your mind off it! Let's talk!" He said. She nodded sadly as they started a small conversation.
~
She laughed as quietly as she could.
"I still don't see why you always teased me about it!" She said as she laughed. He smirked at her giggles, they were the most adorable thing he had ever heard.
"You were constantly begging me to play wedding and have me be the groom, since you didn't want to marry Victoria or Emily." TJ laughed.
"To be fair, Em's my cousin." She laughed and leaned on him. "Besides I always thought you'd make a great groom."
"Tallie?" He questioned. She smiled at him and scooted closer.
"Teej..." She said running her hands through his hair.
"What are you..." he was stopped by her placing her lips upon his. He kissed back harder and placed her on her back, with him on top. They kept kissing for a bit, until he stopped, realizing what was happening.
"Tallie, why the bloody hell are you doing this?" He asked, sitting up.
"I don't know Teej... You're like my best friend and I really like you." She said. He rolled his eyes and placed his head in his hands.
"You're a hormonal mess, aren't you?" He said. This made her mad.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked.
"You're a wreck! You miss Trey, so you're hitting on me!" He said. Now, he was mad.
"I'm not a slut, if that's what you're thinking!" She said.
He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right Tallie! You lose one boy toy then you go after another! And I thought you loved him!" He said.
"I did! And maybe I loved you, too you idiot!" She almost yelled. His heart skipped a beat. She loved him? No, she couldn't. She was just blinded by hormones.
"Well then why in the hell were you dating Trey?" He yelled. Thank God the walls were thick.
"Because I didn't want to lose you! I didn't want to be one of your exes! I wanted you! I started dating Trey, because he was a good friend and I thought it would be nothing, but it wasn't! I fell for him and you! I guess I was a slut because there was two guys I loved!" She yelled back. He looked at the heartbroken girl and said the sentence that he would regret for the rest of his life.
"Good thing I'm over you." He lied and slipped out the window. He ran away from her house and to his broken down, car and slept in a pool of regret for the rest of the night.
The girl cried into her pillow.
' He hates me' She thought. She opened her phone and looked for the movie she had rented earlier.
~~~
"I'm telling you Sandy, he'll never b e as smart as the other kids." A young boy around the age of seven over heard his parents conversation about him. He wasn't the smartest kid in the world. He had dyslexia, ADHD, and every other learning disorder he could think of.
Yesterday, he had been placed in a special education classroom, my h to his mother's dismay. She believed he was a smart as all the rest of the kids.
His parents hadn't been the smartest either. His mother was a result of a accidental pregnancy, as he and his sister had been.
His sister was easily the smartest girl in their grade. Teachers often looked at him as the dumb brother, the mistake.
'I was a mistake..' he thought. His parents would be better off without him, they would be wealthier if they didn't have to pay for his medications.
He sighed and turned in his bed.
'I'm sorry I was ever born' he thought. He then decided to take out a book and start reading.
"Emily!" He whispered, shaking his twin sister.
"What is it Char?" She asked.
"Will you read me a story?" He asked. She sighed and sat up.
"Okay Char, but I'm tired after this. Tomorrow we're working in your reading skills. Got it?" He nodded. He was going to be smart, he promised himself. For his and his family's sake.
~~~
"Charlie, Max!" A little girl around the age of nine screamed. Her twin brother had just fell from a tree at the playground. They were with their cousins and friends. The branch he was on had just fallen on their friend, Max.
She ran to her brother and pulled the branch off her friend with the help of her cousin, Luke. She pulled her brother off and looked at his wound. It was bloody from the 20 feet fall. She pressed her fingers to it, and to her and everyone else's surprise, it healed instantly.
That's when weird things started happening. The electric pole started sparkling and a tree branch lifted in the air. Percy moved one foot without moving, Natalie's hair turned blue, and TJ grew dog ears.
"What's happening to us?" Natalie screamed, worried.
Emily, who was still in shock from what she did to her brother, decided to take control.
"EVERYONE CALM DOWN!!!!" She screamed. Everyone stopped panicking.
"Okay, what is happening to each of you?" She asked.
"Somethings going on with my hands, they feel like static electricity." Victoria said.
"My hair changed!" Natalie squealed.
"I got dog ears!" TJ said.
"Uh, I moved without moving if you didn't notice!" Percy said.
"I think I moved that branch!" Luke said.
"Um...I'm okay." Max stated. Emily examined him. He didn't have a bruise on him.
"Em, what are you thinking?" Charlie asked.
"Um...does it matter?" Emily asked.
"Is it 'oh my god! What do we do?'" Charlie asked.
"Maybe...." Emily said.
"Did you just read her mind?"
"Oh my god this is so freaky!!!"
"What do we do?"
"CALM DOWN!" Emily shouted.
"Listen, I don't know what's going on, but we'll find out. Let's just keep it a secret for now, okay?" Emily said. They all nodded.
~~~
Seven teenagers then appeared in the dream. It looked to be a few years earlier, maybe the 1980's or '90s.
The first teenager was a male with blond hair and a devilish smirk. He quickly ran around a tree in less than three seconds.
The next was a girl, the youngest of the seven. She had long, Brown flowing hair and electric blue eyes. She flew up in the air and quickly came back down.
The third was a young man with tattoos. He was the oldest. He picked up a huge bolder with ease.
The fourth was another young man with brownish hair and green eyes. He sparkled his hands with lighting.
The final teenagers all looked similar. Dark hair, Brown eyes, and tan skin. The male of the three messed with a tree branch, not even touching it. One of the girls hair switched from dark brown to pink in a matter of seconds.
The final girl of the trio was the most amazing. She switched from a human to a bird in a matter of seconds. She flew around, causing time to turn back.
She appeared to be a...

~Horace's POV~
I woke up from my dream with a gasp. They were peculiar!
"I have to call the others" I said to myself. I arose from my bed and looked for my phone.
