Chapter Six:
Faith's body felt like it was hit with a brick or run over by a truck then that truck backed petal over her again before racing away. She was in so much pain, her bones were ringing as she struggled to breath. Oh my god, Faith groaned, her hands coming towards her head. She felt another presence there, pushing against her skull.
Suddenly, she realized that her hands felt weird— not fingers or palms. She had paw pads. Her eyes snapped opened, seeing a long nose with fur. She was panting, her body stuck on it's side. What did they do to me? She wanted to cry and scream, but they only came out in whines and whimpers. Why am I like this? I'm not like those monsters!
She forced herself to stand up, despite being new to four legs. She tipped over landing harshly on the floor. Faith's claws scratched the tile floor as she attempted to get up, not able to get any friction.
Woah, don't you know anything, a voice chuckled in her head, trying to joke with her. Faith remembered her before she passed out. You just shifted. I'm surprised you're moving around.
Faith screamed in her head— not wanting any part of her connecting with the beast. Before she neared a panic attack, she took a deep huff, puffing the air out through her nose. Hunter Kill can help me. He's blood with Paige. She'll know what to do.
The voice in her head growled, Go to mate. Jansen is our mate. Not Paige! After a silencing pause— Faith trying to figure out her thoughts— the voice whimpered out, Can we please go see mate? Her kisses are very good. I like her touch.
The door opened, and the wolf inside Faith's mind started to skip around, trotting around with her tongue out. It's mate! Look how pretty she is.
Jansen entered the room, smiling softly, "Hey, Faith." She slowly started to get close, and Faith wonder how she wasn't afraid of her. Wolves were murdering and raping thousands of humans— male, female, children. "Everything is going to be ok."
Faith's eyes perked up. She's going to fix me. She gave a small bark, tip toeing on her back paws before she sat down, leaning her head forward. In this form, she could sense Jansen's welcoming scent— and a hint of something else.
What is there to fix? The voice in her head purred. Look at how she looks at us! She wants to eat us! That exclamation caused Faith's tail to wiggly back and forth on the ground.
Jansen smiled at her mate, sitting on the ground to as she moved her hand to pet the top of the wolf's head. "I have something to tell you." Faith watched her carefully, wondering what would happened.
She isn't going to kill me, is she? I'm not like them. I never hurt anyone.
Mate wouldn't kill us. She loves us.
Goddess, rip it off like a band-aid.
"You're a half-breed— half wolf, half human." Jansen started, seeing Faith whimper in pain. "It's ok, Faith. A lot has happened since you've been shipwreck. There's no more war— we have alliances with the humans and vampires."
Faith took a couple steps back. No. She bottom hit the wall as she back away, sneaking into different corners of the room as she whined. Wolves. They're wolves. They tricking the human race. Where is Paige Kill? Where is Hunter Kill? They must have some mind control on them.
"You're safe," Jansen's voice broke, tears going down her checks. She could feel her mate's anger and hate, her mate's fear and panic. "We are friends with the humans. All the wolves here are innocent."
Faith growled, No wolves are innocent. Get away from me!
You're not scare of me, are you? The voice in her head cried, You're my best friend. Partners in crime.
I'm not killing anyone, Faith snapped, her tail swishing from side to side in anger. I want my human body. She hated how the breeze in the room moved her fur. She wanted clothes and human things, not a tail and the lost of her thumbs. Give me my human form back. I want my body— not this flea bag!
The voice in her head only whined, fading into the background. Her soft voice echoing a couple of times, Jerk, before disappearing along with the presence.
Jansen full out cried, she wasn't ready. She wasn't ready. Her sniffling caught her mate's attention, and they both stared at each other— Jansen's longingly and Faith's full of hate. "Please, just give me a chance."
Faith's body started to shift back, much more easily since she wanted to become human. She sat naked on the floor, her eyes widen with fear. Jansen quickly took her shirt off, leaving her in a bra before sliding it across the floor.
Faith stared at her for a moment before sliding it over her head. It covered her breasts and clamped up in her lap, completely covering everything that it needed.
"Why should I give you a chance?" Faith whispered, knowing she was trapped in the room with a werewolf. "What makes you any different?"
Jansen frowned, "We all aren't bad. I mean, we have some terrible wolves. They usually get banished— rogues. Pack wolves never really harmed anyone." She tilted her head, staring at her mate as she whispered.
Faith snorted, shaking her head. Her nose crinkled in disgust. "A pack of wolves almost killed Paige Kill."
Jansen played with her fingers, biting her lip. "I mean, like people and wolves, packs and business can get corrupted."
A snarl echoed from across the room, "Are you justifying them?" Jansen froze at her mate's growl, a command a Beta's mate could give. Faith was taken aback to, her hands going to her throat.
