~ One time Frederick cheated during hide and seek with Hira, when they were young. She gave him a black eye, and he tried to give her one in return, but instead was caught by King Rupert, who sent him to a corner to think about how he had been about to hit a girl. He sat there for hours (Rupert claimed that he'd simple forgotten about his nephew).

~Jenson enjoys smashing the training dummies with his obvious skill. After he ruined the fifth one in one week, they banned him from using his sword against them and demoted him to a wooden sword during practice. He's still managed to ruin two more, mainly because some ladies were watching.

~19 (he assumes - he was 7 or 8 when the orphanage kicked him out, so of course he's going for the older one of the two)
~ He's only been drunk once, and when he woke up unable to remember anything except for the archery competition, he swore he'd never do it again. Being unable to control one's actions is a scary thing indeed. Also, it was humiliating to stumble around boasting about one's prowess in archery and get brutally whomped by competition because they couldn't see the target well enough to even hit it. He wished he could forget that moment, but his stubborn brain decided that was the thing to remember.

~ Voronwe is close to Hira and her family. He was an unofficial counselor for Rupert; in fact, they were so close that Voronwe didn't address Rupert by his official titles when they were alone. Hira calls him uncle. Voronwe and Rupert routinely had one night a week when they talked and drank, and Voronwe also routinely made fun of Rupert for being a lightweight.
