Introduction
In a world full of magic, dragons, swords, and royalty, tensions are at an all-time high.
The king has been assassinated with no legitimate male heir, and the princess is furious that she is being skipped over for her cousin, an idiotic man without access to magic, who has a penchant for mistresses and ale and no interest in ruling.
People are beginning to take sides (most in favor of her stupid cousin), and the princess is getting desperate. She desires an easy way out.
As someone who already has powers, Dark Magic isn't a hard step.
But Dark Magic has consequences, and she will pay.
"Call me that again and you'll be the one with a headache."

Welcome to my medieval fantasy applyfic! I'll choose eight to ten of your fantastic OCs for this quest, and, as you all know by now, the more active you are the more active your character will be.
This applyfic is set in the Middle Ages, in a place inspired by England (but not England, because then I can have some freedom). Magic is threaded throughout the land, accessed by spells and sacrifices. The princess has a piece of jewelry infused with Dark Magic, and she can use it at will. It does happen to be sucking out her soul, though, and as a cold queen who cares for nothing but power and has limitless magic at her disposal, she must be stopped. (As an aside-she doesn't start out cold and evil, so just keep that in mind whoever wants to be the princess).
I need three set characters filled out, and those will be first come first serve, because I don't want to have to choose between three princesses and force whoever wanted to be her to lose their spot, you know? Like, forms take a lot of time, and I know you guys have better things to do, so that's what I'm trying to say. Comment next to the one you want reserved, and I'll let the first person here have them.

Everyone else can choose whatever they want to be. Orphan? Not rare in the medieval times, so sure. Thief? Have at thee. Wizard? As long as you're not too overpowering. A ranger, or a rebel? Nice. Some conflict. Bard? I sure hope we get one, because that would be epic. They can supply our questing theme music. A pirate who got thrown off their ship for never working? Cool. I think you get it now, so I'll stop.
I'm gonna take this moment to stop rambling and thank Cynarr for unknowingly letting me leech off of her applyfic's introduction because I'm not very artistic and I needed help. Love you bunches!
