Chapter Fifty-Six:

It was raining when two major things happened: one, Hunter and Paige's parents were died, dying at the paws of an enraged werewolf, a rogue; two, Paige's GPS dislocating from the wireless connection, leaving her lost in the wilderness of Alaska.

It was only fair if it was raining when the war finally broke out. After the death of the Alpha, wolves of that pack attacked, sinking their teeth deep into Paige. The Beta, quickly becoming Alpha and taking the old Luna inside, where the Moon Goddess would watch over her.

Everybody watched as Paige was defeated. Her blood soaked the ground, making the grass covered in Dark Moon. She collapsed, teeth and claw coming towards her body.

She didn't feel any pain though. She felt nothing. She reached a hand out, grabbing a wolf by the neck before snapping it, dislocating it from it's body. The only things that kept it intact was the skin.

Even with the weight of a single pack, she stood. Her hands flying as she killed wolves. She kicked some into the temple and some into trees.

Each and every wolf of that pack was dead, a lump at her feet. "That was quiet pathetic." She stared at the former Beta, now Alpha. His eyes broken as he stared at his family.

"Anybody else?"

She called out, hearing nothing in return. They all stared at her, not believing their eyes. They heard of her lack of mercy, but most have never seen it with their own eyes.

Celeste stepped forward, her eyes narrowing at Paige. She couldn't bring herself to look at the bodies. She had already seen this picture before.

Paige stared at her, recognizing the girl. She clapped her hands together. "Standing tall and proud, leading a group of wolves like your parents."

Celeste snarled, "Don't speak about them." She took a deep breath calming herself down. "I would like to speak with Paige."

The monster laughed with a single shake of her head. Before anyone could notice, she launched into a attack. Separating the large group, surrounding herself. Paige's words echoed through her head.

I'm stronger than all these beast combined!

She gripped a vampire by it's neck, squeezing the life out of it as she felt wolves and blood suckers attack her.

She snapped it after the face had gone blue, pleased with the death and happy that nobody had the strength to stop her.

It was easy for her, taking a life. The monster had no feelings or emotions, other than her rage and cockiness. She was something that some believed that could kill the Moon Goddess, and some say she did, only for the Goddess to be reborn after her death.

The Alphas and Leaders stood, watching as she fought. There were too many warriors and patrollers attacking her for them to join in. They watched, before their very own eyes, as Paige's body changed. The monster couldn't change into a wolf, but she sure could have tried.

It was horrifying. Gem grimaced at the body snapping, unorganized and wrongfully compared to her own transformation. Sage actually gaged, chocking on the liquids forcing their way up her throat. Hunter stared, his eyes never leaving his sister's body.

"Kill her!" Alpha Lupin boomed across the small and petit holy grounds that slowly became a battle field. "Show her no mercy!"

The other cheered, their Alpha and Luna commanding the children and non-fighters who were no older than the age of sixteen back to the temple, where the Moon Goddess has blessed them to live.

Celeste stared at the fight, remembering what happened at Gem's old pack's training center. The monster seemed to be even more ruthless.

Paige was stuck, reliving memories of the old, trapped to believe she was still there, a young child in the good old days.

She couldn't see how her own hands teared into wolves and vampires, how long unnatural claws cut through her soft human skin, how fur started to grow on her in puffs. She was unrecognizable to strangers, but Hunter could still see her olive skin and pointing nose over the changes.

Alpha Lupin was the first Alpha to near the monster. Wolves parted a path for him as he walked past the dead and the bloodied. He watched as Paige's body turned, seeing how her dark green blood leaked from her body. She'll wish the blood lost had killed her when I'm done with her.

The monster's eyes quickly caught him, challenging him for his title, a title that his father passed down to him after years of training.

The monster roared, charging at the older man. Her brutal strength and speed caught the Gem's father off-guard, sending him flying back.

He was quick to stand up, almost unfazed at the monster's actions. Alpha Lupin wanted her to come after him, leading them both away from the temple, giving more times to those who can and can not fight.

Come on you, monster. The Alpha smirked, snarling at Paige. At the time, Paige's back started to bend forward, sending her hands to the ground.

Everyone watched as she shook. Maybe the pain was finally getting to her. Instead, her legs snapped, positioning her to fight like a wolf in human form. Or maybe not. Holy mother fucker.

Alpha Lupin shifted as Paige was regaining her awareness of her surrounding. Attacking her before she was ready, the Alpha launched into her neck, going straight for the kill.

His bite, the wound he created, did nothing. Instead, Paige only bleed, but only before her wound healed itself.

Without thinking, Luna Lupin shifted in mid-run, running towards her mate. Her teeth gripped Paige's human leg, shaking it. Her hold ripped off a chuck of skin with a small puff of fur and fabric. Before her very eyes, the wound healed, like nothing every happened.

She's going to be harder to kill than I thought.
