Chapter Forty-Four:

The snow started to melt as the weather started to warm up. The water dropped down from the top of the mountain, creating beautiful waterfalls. Paige watched as the snow slowly started to flood the lower parts of the cave.

She sat near the wall, leaning her body weight against it. She huffed, her body sore and broken from the lack of the green blood. She panted, struggling to breath.

It was the last battle she would fight. Paige was dying, and when she did, it would leave the monster to control her body. The small piece of Paige wasn't going to be there any more, at least controlling.

Paige felt her eyes close on her, and she couldn't see anything.

Her body stood up on its own, walking towards exit. Her smile was wicked and dangerous. She glanced out on the outside world, seeing how the plants started to grow. The seeds surviving the winter.

Blood dropped from her fingers. Her finger nails started to form into claws, a weapon to use against her enemies. The human eyes Paige once had narrowed into slits. Her body was nodding as much as it could. Paige's human body wasn't meant for this transformation.

Please. The body started to cough, making the monster stubble. Please.

Paige was reliving her nightmares. She couldn't live through that again, for she started to fight. By using all her strength, she drove for the desk.

Her hand barley missing the grip of the knife.

No more. No more.

The monster grunted, "This is pathetic, Paige." She started to chuckle, coughing up green blood.

"No more!" Paige screamed, her voice actually leaving her body. It echoed across the cave walls before filling into the world.

Her fingers curled around the knife. She turned the blade, making it face herself.  "You're never going to hurt anyone ever again."

She pulled the knife back, only to have her body move to the side. She did it again. Paige felt a sharp pain coming from her side, and she bleed red blood.

Before the monster could react, she did it again, stabbing herself on the hip. She cried, fat tears rolling down her skinny checks.

The monster laughed, giggling at the human. You don't understand. You can't kill me.

Paige went to stab herself, one last time, but she went faint. The blood coming from her human body was red, human blood. She wasn't killing the monster; she was killing herself.

She started to choke on her own blood, falling back into the darkness in the depths of her mind.

Her human body healed itself with the strength of the monster. The cave walls seemed to be reflecting the beauty of the beast as she stood, red blood dried against her skin.

She marched towards the exit, grabbing the journal as she left. She knew the answer. She knew the reason. She knew who caused all of this, and he was still living to this day.

He was Sage's beloved. He caused the ongoing war, a war that has been happening for hundred years. The monster's first reason was reborn. She was going to go destroy him.

The monster chucked, "It's time for your justice."

She started walking down the bare mountain. Her eyes trained on her surroundings. She knew packs and vampires were still migrating towards the Moon Goddess. The journey was short for some, but months for others.

The whole supernatural species were under attack from a force that has no known weaknesses.

The monster smiled deeply, sensing the wolf scented breeze. She wasn't far from the Temple of the Moon Goddess. She's no Goddess, not anymore.

She stayed at a walking pace, letting them get ready for her.

Then she changed her mind, stopping in her tracks.

There was a group of men and women who hated these species has much as she did. Smirking as she turned around, she sprinted towards Paige's research building, using the dying woman's memory to find the location.

When she reached the tall, strong wall protecting the hunters and huntresses, she merely hopped. Her body flew above the wall, landing peacefully one the ground. A group of hunters raised their weapons.

"Paige?" A woman breathed out, shaking as she held the gun up.

The monster just stared at her, chuckling weakly inside her head.

"How... how are you here?" The nameless woman spoke, slowly stepping closer.

Suddenly, the monter smiled. "I have a proposal for you." The monter stepped forward, quickly lowing the huntress' gun. "I have a way to end this all."

The monster seemed unfazed with the number of guns pointed at her. She didn't move, staring into the eyes of the woman, a woman Paige knew, but the monster did not.

"All I need is your help and your loyalty, and in return, I will end this all."

The woman looked to her group before signally them to lower her gun. She gave Paige a smile before leading the way, but her group kept an eye on the monster walking in Paige.

"It's good to see you, Paige."

The monster grunted at the woman, slowly walking through the territory the hunters owned. Soon her feet reached the steps on the Council.

The hunters fell back, allowing her to be taken into another group. They looked at her in surprise, disgust, and in awe, for she was a creature who could end them all.
