Chapter Thirty-Two:

It hailed, brutally. Some wolves cried as the ice smacked their skin. They believed the Moon Goddess was giving up hope herself.

Maybe she is trying to kill us before this creature does.

Maybe she's trying to kill the creature. Maybe the ice from the sky will be our savoir.

Both were wishful thinking. The Moon Goddess no longer controlled their fates. It's been years before she changed someone's destiny. It changed for wolves ever since hunters started to hunt them.

It was an endless blood zone. Packs wiped up. Wolves bodies being played on the television, showing the country each step to their rightful safety from the beast.

Yet, they still prayed at night. Their kind highly religious to their Moon Goddess. It was a curse not to believe in their own creator, but many wondered why such a Goddess would send this monster down.

The Moon Goddess didn't create Paige Kill. Her name was unknown to her. At least till she injected herself and forced herself to become a wolf. She was never paired up with any male-wolf or she-wolf.

She played with fate, twisted destiny's spin, revolted the plan laid out for her.

Paige Kill, an Alpha, a Leader, a murder, a monster, had out smarted a Goddess, and she wasn't even aware of it. She would never know the fear she ripped on the Moon Goddess herself. The Goddess weeped because of it.

All the Moon Goddess could do was hope Paige Kill would die, and all she could do was watch as her children attempted to find safety in her Earth, where all wolves were welcome.

Alpha Lupin was in the back of the pack, making sure no wolf was left behind. Except my daughter, he growled at the thought of leaving her behind. He was an Alpha, and he vowed to protect his pack no matter the cost. I wished I never spoken those words.

Luna Lupin was in the front, guiding the way for the wolves. She hoped she would see the large structure soon, and she hoped the doors would opened with all the snow and hail on the ground.

Jimmy Lupin was right behind her, pushing her forward when she wanted to turn back for her daughter, her oldest daughter. How dare we leave my child?

Hunter Kill, the only one waking in human form, pulled his jacket closer to his face, hoping to beat the cold. Gem had beaten him a in a bet in order to make him leave. She loved that he wanted to stay, making sure she was ok. She would have let him if she wasn't in danger. She would kill herself before she allowed him to be harmed and by his sister no less.

He pulled out his phone, seeing the light shine on a picture of Gem in the woods. Her smiling at him, giving him a perfect picture of his perfect girl.

How did I get so lucky? He stared down, wondering if it would be appropriate to call her. He looked around, catching Alpha Lupin staring at him.

He shoved his phone backed in his pocket hoping not to upset the Alpha. He was straining himself on not killing him, but no matter how annoying the old wolf was he was Gem's father, not daddy. Gods no.

They all stopped, their feet all standing under them as the Alpha shifted, bare as he was born. Hunter gaged, looking the other way. Learn how to put some clothes on.

He walked over to Hunter, and Jimmy quickly shifted to follow. Luna Lupin stayed in wolf form, making Hunter bless the God or Gods —and Goddess — he believed in.

"Hunter Kill," the Alpha spoke, making some wolves walked away to give them privacy. "Debating on calling Gem, my daughter."

Jimmy rolled his eyes, "Dad, they're mates. You should be happy he hasn't done the deed yet."

Hunter's face redden quickly, making him look away from the two naked men. They both chucked, Jimmy patting him on the back and Alpha Lupin sending him a growl at the thought.

"Give her a call, but lay down on the snow so she won't recognize where you are. Oh, and make sure she can't track your phone." Jimmy walked away, taking his father with him.

Hunter almost turned around to see where they were walking to, but he didn't want furry wolf asses in his memories.

He laid in the snow, his skin shaking from the cold. God, I'm starting to remember how I hated winter.

Hunter started to call Gem Lupin's phone number. Her picture popped up on the screen, making a smile form on his chiseled face.

"Hunter!" Gem's voice yelled through the phone. "You're not supposed to call me."

He saw her red messing hair through the screen. By the looks of Gem's eyes, she hasn't slept since he left.

"Hunter!" She called out again, "Are you even listening to me?"

"Nope. Just staring at my gorgeous mate, who is miles and miles away from me."

Gem looked down at the ground, her wolf howling in happiness and pain. Mate is so far away!

"I miss you," Gem whispered. Hunter said he missed her too, and he gave the screen a kiss to prove his point.

The action made Gem giggle a little before she put on a serious face.

"They told me your sister would be here soon," Gem spoke lowly. "I think this is the last call I'm going to have with you till this is all over."

Hunter nodded, frowning. "I'm sorry."

Gem shock her head. "You have nothing to be sorry for."

Hunter sighed, "I wish you were here."

Gem laughed, "What did my dad say?"

Hunter shock his head. "It's more the idea of them walking around nake without a care."

Gem smirked. "Welcome to the life of werewolves. Thank you for accepting it so easily. I love you."

"I love you more."
