Okay, When you first make a Demigod, the first thing you most likely think of is their godly parent

there are many, MANY gods in Greek and Roman mythology, but I'll cover all the gods and goddesses mentioned in Percy Jackson instead and a few that might have a Demigod son or daughter running around somewhere

and how rare their demigod children might be

in this case, the said demigod would have {Rare} written on the side of their name for you

in this chapter, I'll also be covering personality traits of certain gods as well as appearances that could be passed on from your godly parent to your demigod

but no godly powers, as I'm doing a separate chapter on that for later

now let's begin!

Major Gods:

Zeus: nahhhh, Thunder Pants can wait! I'm doing this in Alphabetical order, no need for Age differences

Aphrodite/Venus:

Goddess of: Love and Beauty

Appearance- It depends because Aphrodite's appearance never stays the same, but most take after their mortal parent, what you can do is research all hair colours, skin colours and eye colours and as for body types my suggestion is to do some research on different body types(I recommend Body type charts found on interest and deviantart) and pick what appeals to you most, because like I said, Aphrodite doesn't stick to one appearance, she's always changing.

Personality Traits- Children of Aphrodite are known to be flirtatious,crafty, manipulative and even vain in some cases (Drew for example) but despite Aphrodite's dark side, her children can also be passionate and loving as well as optimistic. Most girls are known to be girly and have a knack of being perfectionists but not all girls follow these traits (as seen in Piper)

Apollo:

God of: Music, Archery, Poetry and The Sun

Appearance- Blonde hair, honey colored eyes,bronzed skin and a athletic life guard like body, some children have lighter skin, different hair colours and different eye colours inherited from their parents, so they don't always take after Apollo in Appearance.

Personality Traits- Apollo's Children are very talented, especially in Apollo's fields of ability, such as Archery, Healing and Music. They're really good medics and have good relations with people, though some of them can be cocky and braggy in a way as well as very protective(not all of them though) but despite this they have a open mind and show a soft spot to people they care about.

Ares/Mars:

God of: War

Appearance- Large muscular frame, dark hair, light tan skin, eye colours in demigod children often inherited from their mortal parent. Hair colour can also sometimes be inherited from their mortal parent.

Personality Traits- children of Ares can be sarcastic, arrogant and violent, but can also have a soft spot and become VERY protective over those close to them like friends and family, these traits even enabling them to have strong bonds with them, as seen with Clarisse and Silena. In other words if you hurt someone they care about, you better run for the hills 'cause if that Ares kid catches ya, you're gonna be in charge of quite a few hospital bills.

Athena/Minerva:

Goddess of: Strategy and Wisdom

Appearance- Blonde or Black hair, grey eyes, tanned skin and a Athletic body type

Personality Traits- Athena's Children are known to be intelligent and naturally strategic, as well as helpful and kind with a calm demeanor. But despite this, they still tend to be unpredictable warriors that, can very easily outsmart you. They're quite persuasive and are one of the top three demigod children that are known to be natural leaders, since they're naturally strategic in their planning, have the capability to outsmart their opponents quite easily and always keeps a rather calm demeanor regardless of the situation(unless there happens to be a spider in the room)

Demeter/Ceres{Rare-ish?}:

Goddess of: Harvest and Agriculture

Appearance- blonde hair(the colour of ripe wheat) or even black hair like Persephone,brown or forest green eyes as for body types, Demeter is known to have a warlike figure(think of the Amazons and even Moana)

Personality Traits- Demigods of Demeter can be over protective, caring and even motherly in a sense and shows quite a amount of kindness and respect to those that respect them back. But can have a really bad temper when disrespected. and NO, they're NOT obsessed with Cereal! anyways, moving on, they have a tendency to be fussy and stubborn, even though the goddess herself seems to be absent minded, her children can be pretty smart.

Dionysus/Bacchus{Rare}:

God of: Wine, Theater and Grape Harvest

Appearance- Black normally curly or wavy hair, watery blue eyes,body type wise, they vary from having a slightly pudge but can also be tall and buff(as we see in Dakota in the Son of Neptune) or scrawny-ish in Appearance( As Dionysus himself in The Greek Gods)

Personality Traits- some children of Dionysus are known to get addicted to a certain drink(like Kool Aid or Fruit Juice) and have a knack for sarcasm as well as a temper, but be warned, they have a soft spot towards people they lead and care about and can be VERY defensive over loved ones, in other words, if you mess with their loved ones? Run for the hills. Also, Demigod Children of Dionysus are good leaders, under Zeus's Demigod children and often keeps a calm, leading demeanor if something goes wrong. (If you've read The Greek Gods about Dionysus's earlier years, you'd find a REALLY good amount of evidence where that trait came from)

Hades/Pluto{REALLY RARE! no seriously, other than the Di Angelo siblings and Hazel, his kids are pretty much none existent} :

God of: The Underworld, Riches and the Dead

Appearance- Scrawny, dark or black hair, black eyes and pale skin, though some don't follow that appearance and strongly take after their mortal parent instead and some might even have gold or silver eyes, due to his connection with Riches.

Personality Traits- Children of Hades tend to be independent with a calm and reserved demeanor but are capable of having a quite a temper or even a few grudges, so much so it's a well known fatal flaw among some of his children. Aside from that they're usually cunning, respectful and have a soft side towards people they care about(much like Hazel and Bianca)but are occasionally known to be loners that are capable of pushing others away and no matter what side of the traits they possess, most Hades kids are known to be extremely stubborn demigods.

Hephaestus/Vulcan:

God of: Black Smiths, Fire and Volcanoes

Appearance- Aside from Leo, most of his children are often burly-ish, with callused hands, most have dark hair and dark eyes with tanned skin from working in the forges.

Personality Traits- All of them are brilliant Craftsmen and Inventors with a tendency of creating things out of any thing, along with having the habit to improvise if they don't have the supplies available. They're quite strong and creative but are quite anti social like their father in a way, since like their father, they prefer being around machines and in the forges instead of socializing with people as they prefer to be around things they  can solve and understand. But either way, they're normally friendly and with good terms around the people they get along with.

Hermes/Mercury:

God of: Travel and Messengers

Appearance-Normally curly hair, elfish facial features , a sly grin and an often thin, Athletic body type, Hair colour and eye colour are often inherited from their mortal parents but Hermes is said to have black or blonde hair with blue eyes.

Personality Traits- Children of Hermes have a reputation to be mischievous pranksters , but also have the knack for usually being  social, cunning, clever and some are  even known to be more reasonable towards others and have a great understanding of people. In other words, A Child of Hermes is often a People Person and just as equally big jokers. Apart from the positives, they tend to have a bit of a temper and can hold a grudge when crossed, and can outsmart you pretty easily, as they can be pretty persuasive and has the ability to play even the most complex tricks on you without you even knowing about it until it's too late for you .

Poseidon/Neptune { VERY Rare like he's Supposed the be} :

God of: Earthquakes and The Ocean

Appearance- black hair, sea green (most common) or ocean blue eyes, tanned skin and a swimmer like body

Personality Traits- Children of Poseidon are loyal, gentle and down to earth with a generally benevolent personality. They make rather good leaders and have a sense of humor, but not all are known to be as friendly. Some can be rather manipulative and are known to be stubborn, violent with a not so friendly temper and a few aren't really as attentive towards their comrades much like their father.( in fact if you tick him off, best to get yourself out of there because you never know if Hurricane Derp is gonna pop in and say Hello, or when one of his kids is going to give you a lovely helping of Toilet water in the face)

Zeus/Jupiter{EXTREMELY Rare thanks to Queenzilla on the loose}:

God of: The Justice, Weather and the Sky

Appearance- Black hair (sometimes the same colour of their Mortal parent), Electric blue eyes, and a athletic and war like body type

Personality Traits- Independent, serious and respectful, most children of Zeus have a flair of being natural Leaders, though they have a thing of being unforgiving towards people that they hate. They're really strong and honorable individuals with some possessing  quite a bit of a soft side, but not all, as some children of Zues, most noticeably children like Hercules, tend to be really arrogant and prideful with a large temper.

Minor Gods:

Iris/Arcus{dunno}:

Goddess Of: Messengers and Rainbows

Appearance- Olive Skin, black or dark coloured hair, eye colours may vary but Iris's eye colour is Brown, her body type is unknown, but Body types in her children tend to vary

Personality Traits- Children of Iris have thing for being  free spirited and benevolent. Some even being quite creative and have a talent for being messengers,though most are more reasonably defensive instead of going for the offence, often only attacking in self defense. Along with that, they have a calm demeanor, but can be reckless and even impatient because of them being free spirits,much like their mother.

Nike/Victoria:

Goddess Of: Victory and Competition

Appearance- Tall,Dark haired, Athletic Olympic like body types, eye colours and skin colours vary

Personality Traits- Children of Nike tend to be VERY competitive but very Athletic, and have a really strong determination, but can be reckless and arrogant. They are hard workers and never turn down a challenge, and are pretty tough opponents who never settle on Second place.

Hypnos/Somnus:

God Of: Sleep

Appearance- he hasn't appeared yet but since he's Thanatos's twin, I assume he has dark skin, golden eyes and black hair, Body type generally unknown but his children's can vary from being pudgy to possibly being rather incredibly thin. Though most of his children take more after their mortal parent.

Personality Traits- His children are usually rather honorable and imaginative, as since they spend most of the time sleeping, they tend to dream alot. They're also known to be rather intelligent but also rather slow and lazy, with some  known to be a bit repulsive.

Hecate/Trivia:

Goddess of: Magic, Sorcery and Cross Roads

Appearance- Dark hair, green eyes, deathly pale skin but if not skin is most likely olive in colour. Body type varies.

Personality Traits- Children of Hecate are easily the most isolated and mysterious of the group as they often keep to themselves but they can still be rather big tricksters, as some of them like to play pranks on people through the use of magic. This makes them rather unpredictable, but either way they're pretty honorable if you can get out of their shells, even though they're mostly reserved to themselves and their cabin mates much like their mom with other witches. They are with good terms with Demigods of Hades, as their Godly Parents get along pretty well. Most of them are on the antisocial side but not as much as other Demigods and are generally on good terms with most demigods. But they're not on good terms with all demigods though, as they have a tendency to be bitter towards people who disrespect them or their mom. (Which is why you never should disrespect them other wise you might get turned into a pair of pants or something)

Nemesis/Invidia:

Goddess of : Vengeance, Justice and Balance

Appearance- Black curly or straight hair, brown or black eyes, tanned skin, slim body type with a small bust in the ladies.

Personality Traits- Children of goddess is often brave and rather strong, with a very strong urge to bring balance. They're also known to be hard workers  but they're really unpredictable because you don't know if they're going to play harsh or fair, given their mother's persona but regardless, they're still known to be strong warriors that would stop at nothing to accomplish their goals and bring balance where it's needed.

Tyche/Fortuna:

Goddess of: Good Luck, Chance and Fortune

Appearance- Hair colour paired with almond brown eyes. Most children of Tyche have a slight tan but it can vary depending on race, and a slim, lean, yet athletic body type.

Personality Traits- Tyche's Demigod children likes to play fair and they mostly look on the bright and more positive side. They're really social and friendly but don't get fooled, they're quite bipolar underneath that friendly exterior, as well as quite unpredictable, something that can be explained due to who their mother is. It is said if you just keep on praying for good luck, she is not as likely to give you some, and that if you just go ahead and do something, chances are she may lend you some. This explains the random behavior of her children why they have a tendency to switch emotions rather quickly depending on situation.

Hebe/Juventas:

Goddess of: Youth

Appearance- wavy black or chest nut brown hair, brown or blue eyes, fair skin, body type varies, doe like eyes and rather  Elf or Nymph like features

Personality Traits- Hebe is known to be kind, generous and gentle and her children are no exception. Hebe's Demigod children tend to be very motherly, meaning they're rather soft hearted to those they care about and can get over protective. They're very social and outgoing, as well as really friendly. But overly loyal and protective so much so that it can become a fatal flaw.

Morpheus/Somnia:

God of: Dreams

Appearance- pale skin, slim build, silver,light blue or gray eyes, hair colour often inherited from mortal parent, but when inherited from Morpheus, they have platinum or beige blond hair, as his hair tends to be very light, almost white in colour.

Personality Traits- Morpheus's children, tend to be the more quiet and isolated out of the demigods,though not as much as their relatives in the Hypnos Cabin.  But along with their isolation,they  still tend to be imaginative and creative, being the children of the Dream God, as well as  being quite intelligent, especially about the gods, as like the Hypnos Cabin, they tend to see the gods and goddesses and their various forms. They don't sleep as much, or are as lazy, but they're often in a dream like state which takes effort to get them out of it, apart from some exceptions.

Zelus:

God of: Dedication, Rivalry and Jealousy

Appearance- Not mentioned in the books, but how I picture the guy is, tanned skin, wavy Dark Brown or Black hair, brown,grey or green eyes, body type varies

Personality Traits- These demigods are really loyal and dedicated to their goals but are really smart and crafty at it as well, this making them rivals that are NOT worth challenging, because no matter what. they always find a way to cheat and outsmart you all while having everything they need to cover it up. They can also get jealous easily, and can see the signs of the emotion in others, even if they prefer to keep it hidden. But as for partners, they can be quite loyal and dedicated to you as a friend, but as a rival, you're going to have a REALLY hard time. Because you never know when they're going to strike you and cheat you out of your part, being the Demigod Children of the God of Rivalry.

Phobos/Pavor:

God of: Fear (Kinda obvious?)

Appearance- Straight dark Hair, Jet black, Dark brown or Dark gray eyes, deathly pale, really thin, very ghost like or Vampire like (no, not the Twilight s*i*, more like the original stuff you'd see in Japanese folk lore)

Personality Traits- Children of this god are often quiet and antisocial as hell, more so than Hephaetus's kids or any other God's kids for that matter, and rather prefer to blend into the shadows, and as a result of so, they prefer to keep to themselves, which effects alot of their friendships, as it takes a long time to get their friendship and if you manage to tick them off, they tend to have a bit of a rather terrifying grudge. However, when they get angry, they don't prefer to express it openly, they prefer to be silent but deadly with attacking their opponents by taking them by surprise (which can be pretty funny watching them scare the hell out of everyone). Even though it takes time to get their trust, but the time it takes to befriend them is ultimately worth it, as they can be rather loyal towards their companions and duties no matter what. Though most tend to be quiet and antisocial, some may be more social and able to make their presence known, and take a shorter time to befriend.

Most of these were observed and taken by me from these various gods and their children themselves, certain behaviors that you just notice in nearly every demigod

but

If you're creating a demigod, you don't always have to follow these rules exactly to every bit and bob

these are only traits and genes you can use to tweak your new demigod up a bit to make them closer to their respective parent

so these aren't rules really, but rather inspiration and a way to make your demigod feel closer to their godly parent

I don't mind a demigod out of the box of all these, like a Daughter of Phobos that's really social and always in the sunlight or A Child of Morpheus who's always paranoid and aware of their surrounding even a child of Aphrodite who hates love and men so much that she just wants to move in with the Hunters of Artemis every single chance she gets.

But people, like I said, you don't have to follow these exactly, all you need to do is have an identifying feature that makes them feel and blend in with their siblings, a way to make them feel they're part of that cabin

whether it be a personality trait or a physical gene like the eyes and hair

but if you want to make your demigod feel truly yours, you're beyond free to think outside of the box and to improvise, add your signature tweaks here and there to make your demigod well....yours

that's one of the ways you can create a relatable character

frankly, that's one of my biggest tips that I've learned throughout creating new characters and how to make them unique

thinking outside the box and putting them through different situations
