So, on watt-pad there is a rule about using copyrighted images for your covers - it just isn't enforced, so you really don't need to worry. However, you should use a photo that is at a minimum of 1080p that means a resolution of 1920x1080 which is full HD rather than HD which is simple 1280x720. You really want a 1080p image because it will better display as you are editing, but the higher resolution - the better.

You can get images from getty images but be aware that often you need to pay a licensing fee which can cost a few dollars.

That said, if you are using photos that are in the public domain, they can be actually re-copyrighted so be aware. Also, when it comes to using other people's photos, you should be aware that the person who took the photo owns the copyright, so I'd be careful if you are using a photo of a famous person taken by the paparazzi.

It's crap I know. But at the time, I had a screen that was 1600x900 and that image is compressed by wattpad.
