Chapter 37: Flirty boys
A/N: I hope you all will enjoy it!
Auden's Pov:
Watching Gannon change clothes seemed to be hotter than the last time. It felt nice to spend the weekend with Gannon, we had plenty of sex, watched movies, had take-out, and got plenty of cuddling time in.
A part of me ached for the time where we could do that with all of our soulmates. How long would we have to wait for that day?
"However long it will have been worth it", Max told me, assured of himself.
"If all our mates were werewolves we would already have it", I shot back the fantasy-based fact.
"I'm sure we would both feel a bit better about waiting if we marked Gannon already", Max growled at me, knowing exactly why I was a bit snappy just now.
I groaned and quickly left the bedroom without a word, knowing that Gannon would come to find me when he's ready. I flexed my hands at my sides as Max flashed all the opportunities I could have taken to mark Gannon in my mind.
"Cut it out already", I snapped angrily as I sat on the couch in the living room, banging my head on the back of the cough to break Max's line of thought.
"He wants to keep us, why can't we keep him too?" Max questioned me as Gannon's words from Friday once we were alone echoed in my head, and the words he said earlier.
Warm lips pressed against mine, sending waves of heat under my skin. I kissed these lips back as I smiled just a bit in the simple pleasure.
My fingers twitched to touch him more so I followed the need, letting my arm raise up. Gannon pulled away at the same time, pressing another kiss on my forehead.
"Let's go. We don't want to keep Cody waiting", Gannon spoke as he looked down at my face, which must look upside down from our current position.
"Right", I agreed as I stood from the couch with an extra bounce in my step that continued as I followed Gannon out into the garage.
We weren't on the road for a whole five minutes, of which I used to surf the stations for a good song, until Gannon asked me a question, "What's wrong?"
"I can't find a good song", I answered and I pressed another button in hopes of finding something suitable for the occasion.
"Ok, I phrased it incorrectly", He let out a sigh before he continued, "Why do you look like you're at war with yourself, or maybe it's more accurate to say, at war with Max?"
My hand paused before pressing another button, the sound of static filled the air as I asked slowly, "How did you know that?"
"Sex is about emotion, I've always been able to tell what people around me are feeling. I just never know the reason behind it, unless it's sexual in some way", He answered casually as he readjusted his hold on the steering wheel, his green eyes flickering between me and the road.
I felt the honest truth weigh on my tongue, heavy and bitter. I said something else entirely as I changed the station to a random song, "It's nothing you need to worry about."
"And yet, here I am worried about you. I won't force you to answer but when you do feel like telling me, I will listen", He solidified this statement by moving his hand from the steering wheel and landing it on my thigh.
I squeezed his hand gently as I spoke, "Thank you"
I turned the music up a bit before singing along with it. When we stopped at a red light Gannon turned to face me.
His hand moved from my thigh to my cheek as he lip sang the lyrics of the course, "Give me the wheel. Let me take it from here. Give me the wheel. You got nothing to fear. Give me the wheel, babe."
The look in his emerald green eyes was genuine and warm, it made my heart skip a beat. I quickly looked away from him and dragged my tongue against my teeth to relieve the slight ache from not marking him.
I breathed a sigh of relief as the song ended and sang along with the next song so that I didn't have to think. Luckily it didn't take long for us to pick up Cody.
I hopped out of the car before it could come to a full stop and spirited over to Cody, who was sitting on the steps of an academic building. I sat beside him before leaning in to see a fantastic sketch of Nia.
"Holy shit, you're amazing Cody", I spoke honestly as I wrapped an arm around his shoulders, giving him a little squeeze.
A blush dusted his cheeks as he gave me a small smile and a whispered, "Thank you, Auden"
My hand lifted from his shoulder, my fingers brushing against his warm cheek, "No problem, Puddin"
Cody flipped the book closed and placed it in the bag as he teased me, "What are you the Joker?"
I raised my eyebrow at him as I questioned him, "The who?"
The quickness at which Cody turned his head to face me, caused me concern that he'd suffer from whiplash. The expression of shock on his face almost ruined my poker face with laughter.
"The famous comic book villain in the DC universe belongs in Gotham, Clown in the purple suit", Cody started to explain after his expression softened from shock to caring and educating.
My heart fluttered at his expression change, my teeth ached again. I cut him off by being unable to hold back my chuckle as I ruffled his hair, "I'm sorry you just look so sweet, and soft, just like Puddin."
He blushed again as he stood up and walked down the stairs. I quickly followed him then kept pace with him easily.
"Maybe I should call you Strawberry instead, seeing how easily you blush", I spoke teasingly right next to his ear.
"Go ahead be my guest", Cody started as he stepped out in front of me and poked my chest with his index finger.
"I'll just spend the afternoon with Gannon instead of you", He threatens as he turned around and kept walking in the direction of Gannon waiting outside of his car.
My eyebrows shot up at the words then Max spoke in my head and a wolfish grin spread on my face. I wrapped an arm around Cody's waist pulling him closer to me.
"So you do like being my Puddin, huh", I growled in his ear before placing a quick kiss underneath his ear lobe, the feeling of his skin against mine, caused my heartbeat to pulse throughout my body.
