Chapter 22: See you
A/N:I hope you all enjoy it!
Nia's Pov:
"Magical creatures", Roger repeated the words in disbelief before he asked, "Did you hit your head? Maybe that's why you passed out"
"No", I answered his question before adding, "I was sprinkled with this, um something and now I can see you all."
"What do we look like Nia?", Auden asked the question that made me gulp.
I rubbed my left forearm with my right hand before I lifted my eyes. Staring with Roger I described what I saw, "Translucent skin, black veins, a slow beating heart, his canine teeth are longer hidden in his gums. His eyes are purple, the glow around him is red."
Roger looked like he was ready to bolt out of the room and I wasn't the only one to notice. Auden placed a firm hand on Roger's shoulder, keeping him on the couch.
After a deep breath, I moved my eyes to Auden and spoke what I saw, "Merigold eyes, his mouth, and nose are more like a dog snout. Ears are pointer and lean back a bit"
I paused as my eyes trailed down his body, stopping at his hands, "His nails are pointer like claws. Auden has a glow as well, it's gold in color."
Auden smiled at me showing off his very sharp looking teeth. He seemed to be taking my description better than Roger did.
I looked over at Cody next and described him just as I had when I truly saw him the first time with my uncle. Cody stared at me with watering eyes before he looked down at his lap.
All that was left to do is Gannon, I took another breath before I looked at him. Staring at Gannon made my eyes squint because he is the brightest.
"Light purple skin with green and red markings on his face moving down his neck. Gannon's eyes are glowing green and the glow around him is blue with electricity in it", I closed my eyes halfway through my explanation because I started to feel lightheaded again.
"So your eyes are gold, and you can see us because you were sprinkled with something?", Auden asked as his right leg started to bounce.
I looked back at the floor as I answered, "Yes and I don't know how long it will last so I probably can't go back to my dorm."
"You're more than welcome to stay here until the effects wear off", Gannon offered as if it weren't a big deal.
"You can go back to your dorm, simply say you have color contacts", Roger offered me an out to this situation.
"Yeah, sure I'll just go back and run into more magical creatures. What if any of them don't like the way my eyes linger and decide to end me", I told them the scenario that popped into my head before I shook my head.
After a breath I looked at Gannon again, "I'd rather stay here. At least until my eyes go back to brown."
One second later Roger is standing in front of me, raising an eyebrow curiously as he asked, "Why aren't you more afraid of what we could do to you?"
My eyes locked with his as I tried to find an answer to his question. I closed my eyes tightly as daydreams started to flow.
I shook my head again to clear it, then cleared my throat as I answered him as a bit of worry leaked into my words, "I don't know."
His eyes seemed to get brighter as he spoke in an almost mocking tone, "I know you were very careful in your word choice. Which I find adorable"
Roger's cool hands trailed up the sleeves of my hoodie as he continued, "Calling us magical creatures when the more common word would be monster. I wonder if I can get you to say what I am out loud."
A low chuckle left his lips before he leaned forward brushing his nose against my right cheek as he whispered, "You smell sweet and flowery, it's mouthwatering. I could find you by scent alone without even trying like I did tonight."
His hands stopped at my upper arms, grabbing the sleeves so tightly I could feel his strength, "And you wouldn't be able to run away or fight me"
Roger's lips brushed against my ear, sending shocks across my skin. His voice came out sharp and biting as he continued, "Not that you would since you want to stay."
His lips moved down as his breath fanned the skin of my neck, His voice now a whisper, "You're really making it too easy for me to have a drink."
I knew he was trying to scare me and he would have to try harder. It made me wonder how far he would go so I pushed it.
"Am I?", I asked in an almost challenging tone before I tilted my head, giving him better access to my neck.
Roger hesitated probably in confusion over my response. Gannon, Auden, and Cody grabbed Roger and pulled him off of me.
While they restrained Roger on the couch, I lifted my hands to cover my eyes. My head was starting to hurt from a headache forming.
"What is wrong with you?", Auden growled at Roger in an angry tone that mixed with confusion.
"What were you thinking?", Cody asked in bewilderment, his tone soft as if he was trying to understand.
"Explain yourself right now!", Gannon demanded loudly, his tone gave no room for argument.
Before Roger could answer any of the questions thrown at him, I spoke up again. My voice sounded strained with my rising conflicted emotions, "Roger, can you please take me back to my dorm?"
Before any other words could be spoken, I opened my eyes staring at them with pleading eyes as I said, "I want to go"
Roger pushed Gannon's hand off his chest and pushed between Gannon and Auden to get to me. Roger bent over a little, placing his hands on my thighs, holding them tightly.
"Arms around my neck, don't let go", Roger ordered me as he lifted me up in the air.
I wrapped my legs around his waist tightly, then wrapped my arms around his neck. I hid my face in his neck as his hands moved.
One cupped my neck, the other went around my waist so the wind whipped around my body hard and fast. I tried to keep my breathing steady as he ran, all I could think of was how scary it is that they don't scare me.
