Gannon's Pov:

I didn't mean to go into a flirt mood when Auden pinned me against a tree. It's just that his scent of Pine mixed with carnal need pulled it out of me. How else am I suppose to act when my destined is so obviously in need of a good fuck while right in front of me?

The way his chocolate brown eyes darken, his pupils dilated and he exposed his teeth then licked them, was well worth, the reflective flirting. I wondered how far it would have gone if my phone didn't vibrate with the text I was waiting for.

"I have to go, Sunshine", I explained as I gently moved his hand off my shoulder and moved towards the house.

A woman stood in front of me with a raised eyebrow, "Where do you think you're going?"

After taking a quick breath I smiled at her as I continued to walk towards the basement door of the house, "I am trying to save a girl in trouble if you don't mind"

I wrapped my hand around the lock, seconds from using my power to shatter it when Auden tugged my arm back, "We don't want to leave evidence that we were here. Since it seems we are here for the same reason."

I let go of the lock and raised an eyebrow at him, "How do you suggest we get in?"

"Lock picking. Move over, ginger", The woman said as she pulled out a pouch from the bag on her shoulder before taking my spot in front of the lock.

Auden's grip on my arm tightened a little making the tingles get worse. I gave him my attention as he asked in a whispered tone, "What are you exactly? She and I are weres."

"I'm a hybrid, part god, part siren", I spoke honestly as I heard the lock click open.

The woman opened the door and we all, quietly, descended into the basement. Moonlight fluttering in from the open door was enough to see by.

Standing in chains that are hooked up to a car battery held a young woman up in the balls of her feet. Her mouth gagged with what looked like a dirty cloth and her clothes damp in the stale air.

The woman who unlocked the lock rushed to bound girl's side, cupping her face in her hands as she spoke in a reassuring whisper, "Sam, you're safe now. We'll get you out."

Auden moved over to the car battery and detached the cords from the conductors. I lifted a hand at Sam, pulling the water from her skin and clothes until she was dry again.

The woman immediately started to undo Sam's wrist cuffs as quietly as she could. Once Sam was dry I turned the water into harmless steam.

Yelling reached us but the actual words were muffled horribly. Auden stared at the door that leads to the rest of the house, his body even tenser than before.

Looking away from him helped push down the urge to go over to his side. Sam sagged in the woman's arms like a sack of potatoes, I headed over to them.

"I'll carry her, you two lead the way out", I offered as I opened my arms to scoop the young girl up.

"Fine", The woman said as she took the dirty cloth out of Sam's mouth.

"Thank you", Sam rasped out the words as tears fell from her eyes.

I quickly picked her up bridal style and left the basement, Auden and the women came up right after me. They closed the door and relocked the lock before rubbing everything down with a wet cloth.

"Come on", Auden urged as he ran ahead in the woods, I kept pace with the woman as we followed after him.

It didn't take long to find a car in the woods on one of the trails a good way from the house. I gently placed Sam in the car. Once she was in her seat belt, I pulled away from the car.

As I closed the door, arms wrapped around my waist from behind, "Thank you for your help in saving my sister, I'm Damon by the way"

"Gannon", I returned the greeting just as she let go of me and walked around the car.

She paused as she opened the car door, "You coming, Songbird?"

"Nope. Take care of each other", Auden said as he gave her a faux salute.

With that Damon got in the car and they drove off together. I pulled out my phone sending Nia a text.

"So how did you know about Sam?", Auden asked as he stepped closer to me, with curiosity written all over his face.

"I didn't", I answered honestly as I started to rush to the rendezvous spot Nia and Cody were to be at soon.

Auden easily kept up with my pace, "So you just came out during the night and raided a house for the chance of saving a trapped Were?"

I chuckled at his description, "Nia knew about it and asked for my help along with Cody."

Auden's eyebrows pulled together, "How did she know about it then?"

"You're going to have to ask her, Sunshine", I told him just as the girl in question came into view with Cody beside her.

"Wait, were they the distraction while you grabbed the girl?", Auden asked as he looked between me and them.

"That was the plan", I answered him before I stopped in front of them and asked, "Are you two alright?"

"We're fine", Nia turned to face us as she finished her sentence, "What about you?"

Her eyes are liquid gold as they took in the sight of me as if she was seeing me for the first time. She blinked a few times then looked over at Auden, then staring at the ground with her eyebrows pulled together.

Nia lifted her head again looking between the three of us, "Why are you all so bright?"

After those words, Nia started to fall to the ground.
