Wacko Jacko

Please excuse me whilst I express my feelings on this nickname for Michael.

... I'll be right back.

*Runs away*.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?! I LITERALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND!

MICHAEL___JACKSON LANGUAGE NOW:

JENXOWNZYWBSJZOSMMSLZKSKWMSKDNEKXKDKSKDKSBEBZIDNDJDKDKDKDDHDJDINEJDLD

*Runs back, out of breath*.

Okay, done. Ahem.

Right, let's get down to business.

"Wacko Jacko".

We all know how we feel about this nickname ... don't we?

It is an insult to Michael, and the reason as to why it came about is just ... ridiculous.

You may remember from the last chapter, that I spoke about Michael's Elephant Man's bones rumour. Well, that's kinda what started it off, to be honest.

People thought he was weird for doing all these different "things", but most of them were just fake or, if they were real, they were just for fun.

But no. The media had to completely knock that out the water and make this offensive nickname, which would haunt Michael for the rest of his life.

"Wacko Jacko".

Now, c'mon, it's fairly obvious that the "Wacko" part is offensive, but the "Jacko"? Even just that part alone is an insult. It's a play on his surname, and they've tarnished it simply to make it rhyme with "Wacko".

Michael has been asked about it on interviews. I think that Moonwalkers will agree with me when I say that the most memorable interview regarding the nickname, was in fact the Barbara Walters interview in 1997.

Michael, when asked about the nickname, replied with this:

"I'm not a Jacko. I'm Jackson. Wacko Jacko; where did that come from? Some English tabloid. I have a heart; I have feelings; I feel that when you do that to me. It's not nice ... don't do it. I'm not a Wacko".

The facial expression he had when speaking those words was heartbreaking ... you could see the pain in his eyes.

It breaks my heart every time I see his beautiful, innocent doe eyes sparkling from the pain he's feeling.

But the thing is ... is it really necessary to call him "Jacko"? I mean, towards the end of his life, even if they were saying nice stuff about him, the tabloids would still call him that.

It's like they forgot his real name, so decided "Hey, let's use Jacko! It works, and people know who we're on about"!

No.

No, it doesn't work.

It doesn't work for the fans, his family, his friends ... never mind Michael himself.

Name-calling is bullying.

Bullying – at a serious level – can get you the police involved.

So why aren't the people running the tabloid newspapers getting police coming to them for their choice of name for Michael?

Oh yeah ... because they managed to brainwash the entire world to agree with them.

So basically ... Michael was forced to endure such a terrible nickname.

But, being the selfless man he was, he didn't want his children to get the same treatment.

In fact, in the same interview of the quote above, Michael spoke about wanting Prince to go to school and to stay away from the spotlight, and only to become more famous if that's really what he wants to do.

He also said that he didn't want his son to get the same treatment he does, and that he didn't wish for Prince to be nicknamed "Jacko" after his father.

See? Not just beautiful ... but selfless.

He thinks of others before himself.

What other celebrity would – HONESTLY – be that selfless?

I can't really think of any. Let me know if you think of any.

So, in conclusion, non-Moonwalkers:

•Don't ... just DON'T call Michael "Wacko Jacko" or even just "Jacko" in front of his fans.

•Don't ever ask why you can't call him that, because we will literally Moonwalk all over your ass.

•Just ... just keep your petty opinions on the nickname to yourself, cos no Moonwalker wants to hear them.

Peace.✌🏻️
