Prologue

perspective (noun)

a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Prologue:

Only five people knew where she was buried. With the life of a monster taking over the host, most beings stayed away in fear or came to dig her up in hate.

The body was lucky enough the be buried next to her parents, allowing their spirts to protect her till they suddenly fade out. Nobody knew how or why the dead fade or even why some never get the chance to appear; in the end, it was a way of life. Following Sage Drac's father, the mother and father of the living Hunter Kill disappeared, leaving their son alone.

Hunter Kill and Sage Drac picked the spot, hiding it away from the public eye. It was difficult at first, many, many people wanted to rip her body till they nothing but a bunch of atoms in the tainted air. Gem, Celeste, and even Susan helped moved her body, making sure nobody else followed.

Only if things could work like that.

It was bound for someone to find her grave. Walking on foot, the human man pushed through the trees and bushes shielding Paige.

It was Hunter's nature to shield her, even when she was gone.

His eyes widen at the sight, seeing the gravestone in the ground. He actually saw three, but he didn't care about the other two; they have been died for almost three decades. A smile was printed on his lips, he carried a shovel as he marched towards the unholy dirt.

Beneath my feet, lays a legend. A woman who knew what she wanted. Some called her a monster, but I called her a Goddess.

He started to dig her up, disrupting her from her so far peaceful sleep. He broke through the wood that was surrounding her, showing her face back into the light.

He grazed his finger tips to touch her white, dead, cold, hard skin. Her eyes were closed, her hair was dried, her body was covered in small healed scars. The only wound that caught his eye was the one in her gut, still hinted with blue.

He started to run his hand down her arm, feeling her against his palm.  He was fascinated by her, the things she did and could do. It inspired him to become like her, and to do that, he needed the monster to be alive.

Sighing, he lifted her body, seeing the formulas of Dark Moon and Light Moon buried with her. Smiling, he pulled the two pieces of sheets out, staring at Paige's and Jo Jo's handwriting. He ignored the second one, focusing his attention to Paige's scribbles and writing. He brought his lips to the page, kissing it softly.

We are almost there, baby. We are so close.

He ran off, leaving the body uncovered. It was such a rocky mistake, but he was new. He quickly took himself back to the grave, taking a strand of Paige's hair with him.

This is for you baby and my wife. Those beasts took you both away from me.

He ran away, his determination growing with each of his pounding footsteps. He disappeared from the scene, making his way deeper into the woods. Skipping on the rocks of the stream, he slowed down, creepy towards his man made home in the trees.

It wasn't anything special, only strong and stable for his weight. It was actually more than most people had in Canada and Alaska. It has only been three months since Paige Kill was killed by her own brother.

How could he even dream of killing his sister? It must have been from the mate bond, destroying us humans even more.

He climbed onto the branches, after securing the thing he dug up. He could only hope he could get his hands onto the materials.

He took his time to read over the paper, surprised by the three things he needed. He needed the healing factor of a werewolf, described as a silver ball in the dried, dead blood. He needed rusted vampire blood.

By doing this, Paige wrote around a year ago, you separate the human and the beast, allowing them to enter your blood. The man hummed, taking notes on her handwriting and personality. It's practically amazing. The ideas and knowledge their bodies can do and bring.

He dragged his finger across the page, wondering how he would be able to kill a wolf and vampire.

Luckily, the Council of Hunters helped me create a machine to combine the blood. Take note that I combined the vampire and the wolf blood first before adding my own. Also, I accidentally got some wolf blood into me without any protective gear time before this.

The man stared at the sentences, the words, the letters. Anything from Paige Kill was a new discovery that he discovered. It was like she was his air, the only air, his lunges could breath. She was the only sight he wanted— no, needed — to see. She was his life, and he needed that to survive.

He sat in his tree house, coming up ways to make Paige Kill, the monster, proud. He stared at the stars, not for their brightness, but out of sheer boredom. He counted the stars like they were like his failures and stupid ideas and plans. They were endless, stretching for miles, one popping up after the last.

In his thoughts, he slowly drifted off into a slumber. Little did he know it would take ten years to complete what he started that day.
