Ch- 18- Not Again!

I woke early the next morning, eager to start the day. Today was Wednesday, the day I went with dad while he worked. Blade would take Emerald back to the cove for me and play- not fly- with her until four.

I quickly got ready and headed downstairs. Mom was still sleeping, so I started on breakfast.

"Star? What are you doing?" Bard asked.

"Helping mommy. She's still sleeping so I started breakfast for her."

"Oh. How thoughtful. Be careful though, I have a bad feeling about today."

"Oh, thank goodness. I thought that was just me," I sighed, placing a hand over my heart. I felt the thud thud! as it proved I was alive (though I didn't know why I needed proof while I was cooking breakfast).

"Nope. I have the same feeling," dad said, walking into the room. "Want some help, Star?"

"No, thank you, daddy. I got it." Dad set the table while Bard fed the dragons and Blade got ready. When mom woke up, I had just finished breakfast and was putting it on everyone's plates.

"Oh, Star! You didn't have to do this for me!" she gasped, smiling.

"It's fine, mommy. I liked making breakfast for you." She thanked me, and we all sat down and ate. Everyone told me it was good, and although it was but it wasn't as good as mommy's, though no one dared to say that part.

"Hurry, dad!" I rushed once I finished. He finished soon after me and went to get Toothless saddled up.

"Blade," I said. "Remember?"

"Relax, Star. I got it."

"Got what?" Bard asked, about to leave to go hang out with his friends.

"Nothing!" we said at the same time.

"Star! I'm ready!" dad called.

"Okay! Later, guys." I sat in front of dad as he flew around doing his chief duties.

After lunch, he was helping someone build a new fence while I sat on a tree stump and drew.

"Hello, girl," a familiar voice said. I couldn't quite remember who the creepy voice belong to. I also felt unsafe with him.

"Hi," I said, shyly. "What-" he covered my mouth and easily lifted me up and ran off.

He was the guy who tried to take me from my family and cut my throat!

I fought back and bite his hand hard. "Ouch!" he yelled, loosening his grip for a split second.

"DADDY! HELP ME!" I yelled before he picked me up again.

"Star? Starfire? Starfire, where are you?" I heard dad shout.

"Daddy won't save you now," the man sneered, getting onto a boat. Not long after, other boats surrounded us. His men. His boats.

I waited for my dad to come save me as my wrists were tied together.

"You'll never get away with this," I glared.

"Oh, really?" the man sneered. I gasped in pain as he pulled me up by my hair. "Because I already have."

Dad came flying on Toothless to the boats. They shot arrows and catapults at him, barely missing him and Toothless.

"Daddy! Toothless!" I cried.

"Shut up, girl. Or I'll kill them." He held a sword against my neck but didn't push it in like last time.

"Don't hurt them! Why are you doing this? What do you want?" I asked.

"I want a daughter! I want a little girl that will love me as much as you do him!" he exclaimed, pointing to my dad, who just landed on the boat.

"Wait. What about me?" he asked, hearing only part of what the man said.

"Daddy! Toothless!" I started to run to them but I was pulled back.

The sword laid against my neck again. "Stay back," the man said. "Or I will kill her."

"Why do you want her, uh- what's your name again?" dad asked.

"My name is Shark. And I want a daughter that loves me as much as she does you."

"Why are you taking my daughter?" he asked. "She's mine."

"That doesn't matter, barbarian! Get off my boat!"

"Not until I get my daughter back!" dad yelled back, as someone sneaked up behind him.

"Dad-" I started, but was cut off with a hand over my mouth.

"Suit yourself," Shark shrugged.

Someone hit dad upside the head as other people teamed up to pin Toothless down and locked him up.

"Put them in the dungeon. Separate cells. Take my new daughter to her room. Have a guard with her at all times."

Someone grabbed my shoulders and lead me away from my father and Toothless, but I felt numb and didn't fight back. I just couldn't.

What had I gotten us into?
