Ch. 14- Peace

"Daddy, make them stop!" I screamed as they held me down to treat the wounds Comet gave me.
"Isn't there anything else you have?" he asked. "Something that won't hurt her?"
"No, there isn't," a healer answered.
"Sorry, chief," another healer apologized.
"Just, please, hurry up," he begged. "I can't stand to see her in pain."
Once they were done, they let me go home. Dad dropped Ty and me off at home. Th just walked home from our house because his new home is a couple houses away.
"Bye, dad," I waved as he flew away.
"Bye, chief," Ty said.
We walked inside.
"Hey, mom. Hey, Blade," I said, as Blade ran up to me and gave me a hug.
"Hey, Star," Blade smiled.
"Hey, Star- oh. Who's your friend?" mom asked, holding Stoick II. "And what happened to your eye?"
"This is my friend Tyson. Ty, this is my little brother Blade, my mom, and my baby brother Stoick II." I avoided her question.
"Hi, Star's family," Ty said.
"Star? You let him call you Star?" mom asked. She turned to Ty, "She must like you. She barely let's anyone call her that."
"Star," Blade yelled from across the room, holding up his bag. "Are we going to see Emerald?"
"I still have to watch Stoick II for mom."
"Star, what happened to you eye?" mom asked again.
I sighed, "I got in a fight with the other kids."
"No, you didn't," Ty argued. "They held you down as Comet beat you up."
"What?" mom screeched.
"They held you back, too," I pointed out. "And I'm fine, mom. I'm okay."
We talked for a few minutes before Ty had to go.
"Bye, Ty."
"Bye, Star," he gave me a hug before walking out the door.
"Aww. That's so adorable!" mom squealed.
"Mom!" I yelled. "Don't you have somewhere to be or something to do?"
She laughed, handed me Stoick II, gave me a kiss on my forehead, and left with a quick, "Bye, sweetie."
For the first hour, Blade and I watched Stoick II stare at everything in the room while we chatted. When Stoick II went down for his nap, Blade and I worked on his flight suit before Blade went down for a quick thirty minute nap. During his nap I made a quick breakfast for us tomorrow and packed for tonight. When Blade and Stoick II got up we ate lunch and then we played around until mom got back.
Mom was only gone for four hours, but I was relieved to be done babysitting.
"Hi, mom."
"Hi, mommy," Blade called, running down the stairs.
"Hey, kids," she said before taking Stoick II and setting him down for another nap. As mom came back down, Bard walked inside.
"Hello, mom. Hi, Star. Hey, Blade," Bard greeted, messing up my hair.
"Hey, Bard," we all returned.
"So, I was thinking," Bard started. "I don't know much about you two, and we hardly ever to anything, just the three of us, so would you like to hang out Sunday? Just the three of us?"
"Sure," I said with a shrug.
"That would be awesome!" Blade shouted.
"Cool. See you then," he said, running up to his room.
Mom laughed softly from where she was, caring to Stoick II. "I'll pack food for y'all."
"Thanks, mom."
"Thank you, mommy!"
"Blade, calm down," mom told him.
"Okay, mommy."
"After dinner Blade and I are going to start heading to Emerald, that okay?"
"Actually, Star, I was thinking," mom trailed.
"About what?" I asked.
"After this morning, I think you should stay here for tonight. You can go to Emerald during the week or something."
"But mom! That's not fair! I really want to go! Please!"
"I want to go! I want to go!" Blade screamed.
"Please, mommy! Please!" I begged.
She was about to give in, I could tell by the look on her face. "I'll ask your dad. If he says you can go, you can go. If not-" she trailed again.
"I get it," I smiled. All I had to do was give him my puppy dog face then he'd give in. Not that hard.
Mom and I started on dinner a few hours later. Blade was drawing in one of my spare books. Dinner was almost done when dad walked through the door.
"Daddy!" Blade and I yelled, running up to him. "Daddy, can we go to Emerald's please?!"
"What?" he looked at mom.
"I told them that if you say they could still go, after what happened this morning at Star's Dragon Training, then they could," she explained.
"Please, let us go. Please, daddy!" I begged.
"I'm not to sure," he said, but I could tell he was giving in.
"Please, daddy! Please!"
"I really want to go, daddy! Please," Blade begged, grabbing onto his shirt and jumping up and down.
"Uh-" he slowly gave.
"Please! Please! Please," we shouted.
"Oh, okay. Fine. You can go."
"Yay!"
"But I want you back by three in the afternoon tomorrow."
"Ah," we groaned.
"Can't it be four?" I asked.
"Fine. Four. I'll be here at four tomorrow, and you better be here when I get here, or you won't be sleeping at Emerald's for a month."
"Got it. Thank you, daddy," I said, hugging him.
"Thanks, dad," Blade called, running up the stairs, probably to pack.
"You're welcome," he said, awkwardly.
"Dinner is ready!" mom called. Bard and Blade came racing down the stairs.
I was walking to the table when Bard ran past me. "Ouch!" I said, on the floor.
"Bard! Be careful! Star, are you okay?" dad asked.
"Sorry, Star," Bard apologized, helping me up.
"I'm okay. Let's eat."
We ate dinner, making small talk here and there. When dinner was done, Blade went with dad and Bard on a quick flight around the island while I stayed home to help mom with the dishes, Stoick II, and some light cleaning.
"Star," mom started.
"Yes, mom?"
"Do you want to talk about anything?"
Yes, Emerald. "Nope."
"Are you sure?"
I'm hiding my best friend. I'm lying! I want to talk about a lot of things! Catch me on my lying! Please! "I'm sure."
We stayed in silence, only Stoick II and the occasional dragon roar was making any noise.
The moment the door flew open did that change.
"Whoa! That was awesome!" Bard yelled.
"Awesome! Awesome!" Blade repeated.
"That was awesome, wasn't it?" dad asked, placing Blade on his shoulders, talking loudly like my brothers.
"Did you enjoy your flight?" mom giggled, hugging dad and placing a kiss on his lips.
"Ew! Gross!" Bard shouted, covering his eyes and laughing.
"Gross! Gross! Ew! Ew!" Blade cheered, clapping his hands, still on dad's shoulders.
Mom and dad looked into each other's eyes and laughed.
I smiled at the scene in front of me. My family, having fun. Enjoying themselves. I loved moments like this. Just loved them.
