July's POV
A/N Eek I am so excited to introduce this character! I have been creating four specific characters with my friends. ownedbyafangirl created a character called Sam who is mentioned briefly in this chapter and is played by Emma Blackery, Booksarelife2904 created a sister for Gill which was Iva in chapter 1 who currently is not played by anyone so if you can think of a celeb who matches the description please tell me. Also readerofftheradar has created Khalia who will be in later chapters and she is played by Amandla Stenburg. This is July and she is played by Evanna Lynch and created by yours truly :-) Enjoy!
'You have no idea how happy I am right now!" I squealed, swinging my bag and filling the air with the scent of lemon sherbet and apple crumble and candyfloss and delicious smelling mixtures that I'm not allowed to eat. "Oh believe me, I know" Sam murmured "remind me why we're friends again? "
"Opposites attract remember"
"Seriously? "
"yes, seriously!" Then, partly for the irony, I playfully swing my bag back at her. She was immediately covered in a cloud of pink, yellow, green, blue and God knows what other colours were invented that day.
"I know you'll hate me for it but you do smell lush now! "I smiled, gesturing to the bag in my hand. "Let's get back before you embarrass me anymore"
"Yeah probably a good idea"
Near the centre of town, part of the crowd peeled away and, just like in movies, there they were. That character who'd arrived to turn my life upside down. Though in their own story it was probably vice versa.
A girl with neat plaits and a plaid dress in pinks and white stood, staring. She looked exactly like a little kid who'd lost her mum. Just a bit taller. She was still quite short, especially compared to me; I'm not a tall girl but then again a lot of my friends are so I think I forget how much taller I can be than some people. I stared back, but surreptitiously. I had perfected the art of looking just behind someone. I was born curious and looking at everything was learned behaviour for me so it felt awkward trying to be normal and not read a sign or avoid cracks on the pavement or spot shapes in the clouds. I don't know how most people think about things but I understand myself less sometimes. This girl. She would understand: she looked a bit younger than me if you looked for long enough, and she was definitely different. I couldn't embarrass myself with a stupid introduction but I was sure she wouldn't be more than a stranger on the street. I was wrong but I did forget about her for a while.
I mean who wouldn't when they had a bag full of 'LUSH' Bath bombs to try out ASAP!
