It's a Mentality

Whether you are overweight and trying to lose some pounds, trying to gain some muscle and increase your athleticism, trying to maintain an already fit body, or simply trying to find a healthier lifestyle so you can feel better throughout the day, a healthy body isn't in the food you consume, the exercises you do, or the vitamins you take. It's all in your head.
Getting fit isn't easy. Every day it's going to take a choice. If you let yourself slip even for a little bit, it will make you feel like a failure, and you won't even try. Trust me, I've been there.
When your body tells you to give in or give up, your head needs to say "no, we're gonna keep going."
Here's what I want you to do. I want you to set a daily goal for yourself. That is the first step. I'm not gonna dictate what your daily goal should be, but set a time to exercise and get your cardio going, determine to try a new healthy recipe, determine to cut out some things in your diet, read a book instead of look at a screen all day. Baby steps. But if your in the mindset of reaching those goals, it will make it easier for you to carry through. Then, build on those goals. Take them up a level and challenge yourself. Soon, you'll be accomplishing things in your daily schedule that you never knew you could do.
Now, as much as I think it is important that you are diligent in your aspirations, remember that it is ok to make an exception for yourself once in a while. On holidays, for instance, it makes sense that you might wanna eat one of your grandma's famous gingerbread cookies rather than miss out on the tradition. On your birthday, you deserve some cake and ice cream. If you're sick, don't push yourself into exercising if it could harm your body even more.
You get what I'm saying. Don't be so strict with yourself that you lose other important things. Here's another helpful video that encourages you to start with the simple exercise of running. If you build up your strength with that, you can slowly add more exercises into your week. Good luck!
