Rambling

Okay, I'm just going to randomly start writing something and stop when I run out of ideas/get bored. We'll see how this goes.

In the darkness of the streets, there was hardly anybody to be seen. A few people ambled about, but as it was well past midnight. everybody had returned to their beds for the night. One figure in particular walked quickly through the crowd, a thick hood pulled over his head. He accidentally rammed his shoulder into a bypasser, who turned to him. "Hey, what do you think you're-"

"Sorry," he muttered quietly, pulling the hood tighter so that his entire face was hidden in shadow. He pushed past the man and continued down the road, going as fast as he could. Any normal person standing there would have seen him and thought him still to be a teenager; when in reality he was years older than the oldest person there.

He continued running down the path until he reached what seemed to be a dead end- the forest. Casting glances around him to make sure that he wasn't about to be seen, he crept behind a few trees and pulled back the leaves covering a tall object.

It was about the size of a large doorway, made of a shimmering black stone that was chipped and cracked, spiderwebbed with moss. Inside the frame, a purple mist swirled, sometimes vanishing but for the most part staying there. He gave one last look to be sure of the fact that nobody was there and stepped into it, seemingly vanishing from existence.

He stepped out of a device that looked much the same, but the terrain was different. A coarse red stone made up the ground, and a ways above him dictated what looked like a ceiling. In the distance, a sea of molten rock flowed slowly, the only other source of light being a glowing yellow rock made of fine dust. Hoping that he would be able to make it back to his house without being suspected, he took off his hood and started walking as quickly as he could to the brick building-

"Sky!"

He cringed as his father's voice echoed from behind him. Slowly, he turned around, revealing his glowing yellow eyes. "Y- yes?"

His father walked over to him, his own eyes a pure, shining white. "Where have you been?" His tone of voice made it clear that he knew very well where he had gone.

"I- it's-" Sky couldn't look his dad in the face.

"You know that you aren't allowed there!" His father scolded, grabbing him by the arm and starting to walk to the house. "The Overworld is a dangerous place."

"But Uncle Notch-" Sky protested, but was cut off.

"Your uncle is treated differently than I am," his father said shortly, throwing the door open. "In."

Sky didn't bother disobeying him, and stepped inside quickly. His father followed, shutting the door behind him. He signed and ran a hair through his dark brown hair. "Sky, this is serious," he said, trying to gather his words. "This is the third time in the last hundred years. You know that it isn't safe there."

"But-"

"No buts," he said. "If they found out what you were, they wouldn't hesitate to kill you."

"But I haven't been killed yet!" he said, desperate. "Their world is so fascinating to just be in, there are just so many of them, they're just like pigmen but different-"

Herobrine shook his head. "No, they're not. Trust me." He turned to Sky. "Go to your room. I'll decide your punishment later." Sky didn't try to argue and instead went right upstairs, listening to his father pacing.

He opened the door, not surprised at all to find a wither skeleton standing there. "So he found out?"

"Yeah," Sky said, tossing the cloth that had made his makeshift hood onto a chair and sitting down on his bed. He sighed, staring up at the ceiling. "What am I going to do, Eric?" he asked. "That place is the only one that isn't perpetually boring."

Eric shifted his weight slightly, holding something behind his ribcage. "You need to stand up to him," he said. He withdrew whatever it was he was holding and offered it to Sky. "Got you these," he told him. "Figured that they'd be better than that hood."

Sky sat up and grabbed them, examining them. They looked they were made of obsidian, but when he held them close to his eyes, they were transparent. He unfolded the two flaps on the ends, and they folded out into a squarish shape that was missing one side. "Sunglasses," Eric explained. "Got them from an older skeleton, said he had them a while ago." Sky nodded and lifted them up to his face, tucking the ends behind his ears.

"How do I look?"

"Like a 'human', as you'd say," Eric said. He leaned against the wall. "So, back to business. What are you going to do?"

"I'm not sure," Sky said, removing the sunglasses and setting them on the table by his bed. "He's most likely to ground me for another twenty years. If not more."

Eric shook his head. "Just remember. It's your life, he can't control it forever." He cast a glance out the window. "I'd better get going now, see you around." He grabbed the stone sword lying in the corner and jumped out the window, swinging down by grabbing the ledges before dropping onto the Netherrack. Sky didn't watch him run away, thinking about what he had said.

As soon as night fell, and he was sure his dad was asleep, Sky sat bolt upright. Silently, he stepped out of bed, grabbing the sunglasses. He lowered them over his face; everything became darker, but he could still see somewhat. He made his way over to the door and pulled it open, trying not to let it creak. Sky stepped as quietly as he could down the stairs, running when he got outside. His feet pounded on the ground, but he kept running, keeping the sunglasses on as best as he could.

He knew the way to the portal by heart. Sky ran up to it, and without hesitating jumped in, familiar with the sensation of falling until he materialized back in the Overworld. In the human's world.

He stood up, smiling to himself. His dad didn't rule him.

Time to live as a mortal.

Well, that wandered down an interesting path. #SkyTheRebelRS, I guess :P
