Chapter 4
Coral returned home in a flurry of excitement. She couldn't believe her new job was caring for the most precious underwater creatures. She spent the whole morning researching and researching.
'For once, I'm actually excited to go to school.' She told River.
'Hold on, you're going to be living on the surface, remember?' River replied.
'Oh right...' Coral sighed. 'Anyway, I'm glad you're coming along. And Ocean and Rain of course.'
'Yeah, same.' River leaned back in his seat. 'It's not gonna be that much fun with Ocean bossing us around.'
'Eh, he'll keep himself busy.'
'And then we can get into heaps of trouble,' River grinned at her.
Ocean swam through the doorway behind them. 'Are you ready to go, Coral?' He asked.
'Oh oops, I haven't started packing yet.' Coral quickly zoomed through the doorway and into her seabedroom. As she began packing, Pond entered the room and began reading off a list he made.
'Alright, don't forget to go feed the Mersprites every morning, noon and night, set up their sleeping areas as soon as you get to the house-'
'I got it, Pond, I'm having Rain and Ocean come with me after all!' Coral smiled.
'Alright. But one last thing,' Pond added, hugging her. 'Stay safe.'
'I will,' Coral beamed.
'Alright, you ready now?' Rain asked Coral from the doorway. Coral took a deep breath.
'Yup.'
She swam out of her seabedroom and into the main living area where Queen Anahita was waiting along with Ocean, River and the rest of their brothers.
'Okay Coral, are you ready?'
'Yes, your Majesty.' Coral repeated.
'Alright, Rain and Ocean will bring you and River up to the surface, where you can use your pendant to become human.'
'Oh, the other pendants!' Rain rushed forward and took the two pendants from Queen Anahita and gave them to Ocean and River.
'Okay, have a safe trip.' Queen Anahita called, waving them off.
The four of them swam out of the house and up to the surface.
