I'd sat on this blasted beach for two days now. Nights was coming soon, but I refused to sleep. Vikings and dragons had come down to me, trying to get me to eat. I had to wait for Hiccup to come back. I couldn't fly to him, but I knew he was out there somewhere.

I heard rustling behind me, but I didn't move. "Toothless?" Said a soft, female voice. It was Astrid. I could smell fish. My stomach was grumbling, but I still didn't move.

"Toothless," Astrid said. "Come here, boy."

I stood, still as a stone.

"You need to eat," she said.

I didn't move.

"Hiccup wouldn't want you to miss out on your meals."

Hiccup. I could hear the longingness in her voice for my master. My best friend. The same longingness I felt, heavy in my heart. I could hear the soft sound of boots crunching the sand as Astrid walked forwards. The smell of fish got stronger.

"Please, Toothless," Astrid said. She walked in front of me, the waves lapping her boots. "You have to eat."

I tried to ignore her. The smell wafered up to my nose. My ear twiched a little.

"We need your help, Toothless," Astrid said quietly. "You need to control the dragons. We can't get Hiccup back without them."

There was that longing again. I moved for the first time in two days. I swollowed and looked down at Astrid. I saw a small smile tug at the edge of her lips. I slowly took the fish from her and chewed it softly. I swollowed it and felt so much better. "Good boy," Astrid said, scratching me behind the ears. To be nice, I decided to givd her a little something as a thank you. I choked back up half of the fish she gave me into her hands. "Oh," Astrid said. "T-thanks, Toothless."

I gave her a toothless smile. I finally had some hope. We'd get Hiccup back. We had to. I could feel that he was in trouble. I needed to save him. I nudged Astrid a little. "What is it, boy?" She asked.

I gestured to my saddle. "Oh, Toothless, only Hiccup and operate your tail." Ha, smart kid. "Well, come on," Astrid said. "We need you to help us form a plan."
