A thousand years ago, the goddess Apophis arrived to earth. She haven't even introduced herself and proceeded to wreak unspeakable chaos. She took lives, burned cities and gave pieces of her terrible power to the worst of humans - the ones she found entertaining, all thieves and murderers.

Mother Earth decided to let her - the humans were a nuisance for a long time now and even though she didn't wish for their complete extermination, they certainly did deserve to be punished for their pride and greed.

All the noise woke up her daughter, goddess Tiamat. A long time ago, she fleed from the humans to the darkest depths of oceans, the only place they weren't willing to follow her to, and then fell asleep. But now she was awake, and very curious. She rose to the shore.

The moment Apophis and Tiamat saw each other, they fell in love, deep and burning. They decided to get married, make their magic one and together rule whatever they make out of humanity - for the rest of all eternity.

When Mother Earth found out, she was furious. She cursed her daughter back into the ocean waves and Apophis into the sky, to always circle around the planet, just like the dead body of Tiamat's past lover Luna. So close to what she loved, but unable to touch. To stop them from freeing themselves, Mother took away their united magic, but quickly discovered she wasn't able to absorb it - it was just too strong. She didn't want the humans to have it though, so she decided to bury it deep into the dirt and stones - so deep that none of them could get their prideful hands on it again.

The magic didn't like that though, and slipped away from her grasp. She knew she didn't stand a chance against it's will, but refused to let go. Mother Earth died fighting to get the wild magic back under control and her last breath made the sky go black for a hundred years.
