The first thing you should do when you want to become a writer is be creative and completely original. Don't go for what's popular: go for what's fun and cool and could possibly become the new popular :) Don't have limits: express your feelings and emotions in the book and instantly it becomes ten times better. You dont have to be super duper specific or even have an amazing vocabulary: keeping it simple is good for people and others like to speak more properly and more throughly describe characters and there surroundings. Examples:

Simple: Mark smiled and nodded.

Through:: Mark smiled slightly and nodded his head a few times.

Both ways are fine as long as you cover the basics.I prefer the second way personally but you pick which way satisfies you. Anyway, back to becoming a writer. So, being creative means having good idea's, such as a sweet little girl's grandfather seeing fairy's live in the closed buds of flowers in his dead wife's garden. Creativity is a big key to writing so don't forget it!
