The Dinner Meeting

Scott's Perspective

Scott landed, clutching the pocket on where the book was.

He looked at the clock, he was five minutes late.

He walked in, embarrassed, but he was happy to see that he wasn't the last person there.

"What took you so long? You're always on time!" Joel said.

"I... I got caught up with my parents. They're worried about the demon and stuff." Scott didn't want to tell them about his brother.

Scott looked around and saw that they were waiting for Joey, Gem, and Shelby.

Scott walked over to Katherine and started talking with her. He didn't want to talk about his dream in front of everyone, but he told her that they needed to talk later.

A little while later, Gem and Shelby arrived, and Joel decided to start the meeting.

Everyone took their seats. Luckily, Scott didn't sit next to Jimmy, but he did sit across from him.

"Petal... please... I can't lose you." Jimmy's voice from Scott's dream rang in his head.

"I have called this meeting, because Lizzie told me too." Joel started.

Lizzie smacked him and Joel laughed.

"I mean, I called this meeting for us to talk about Xornoth."

Scott wasn't paying attention; he was still thinking about his dream. Then he remembered,

Jimmy kissed my forehead. Scott thought, biting his lip, but that wasn't really Jimmy... yet again, it felt so real.

"Scott?"

Scott snapped back into reality, "What?"

Everyone was staring at him.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention." Scott flushed.

Everyone was silent when Katherine said, "How about we get some fresh air? We'll be back in a minute; you guys can continue the meeting."

Lizzie nodded, so Katherine grabbed Scott's hand and led him out of the meeting room.

When they got outside, Katherine let go of Scott's hand and faced him.

"Alright, what's wrong?"

Scott didn't say anything, he wanted to tell her about his dream, but he didn't know how.

"Is it about your brother? Should we tell the other empires so then you don't have to worry about them taking it out on you when they do find out?"

"It's not about Xornoth, I mean... I don't know."

"Well let's talk about it. It'll make you feel better. So, has Xornoth done anything to you?"

Scott started to get a bit frustrated, not everything was about Xornoth.

"He sent me a letter today-"

Katherine interrupted him, "Xornoth sent you a letter?!"

Scott nodded, he was about to continue, but Katherine continued to talk,

"What did it say? Has anything else weird happened?"

"I had a dream-"

"A dream with Xornoth? What was it-"

This time Scott interrupted Katherine,

"NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT XORNOTH! I HAD A DREAM WITH ELEANOR!"

Katherine froze.

"Jesus, I'm sorry Katherine, I didn't mean to shout."

"No, I'm sorry." Katherine said, tears coming down her face, "I know I can get really annoying with pushing the truth out of people. But please know that I'm trying to help."

"I know you are, and I'm happy you're helping." Scott said, trying to calm her down.

"It's okay, you don't have to lie to me. I'm sorry again for bothering you about this, I should've known this was a touchy subject for you."

And before Scott could do anything, Katherine strapped on her elytra, and flew off.

"KATHERINE!"

But she didn't turn around.

Scott watched her fly off, hoping she would turn around. But once she got out of view, Scott sighed and walked back into the meeting room.

Scott closed the door behind him and turned around to see everyone staring at him.

"What?" Scott asked, confused.

"We, uh..." Joel trailed off.

"Who's Eleanor?" Lizzie asked, folding her arms.

Scott looked shocked.

Of course, Scott thought, of course, they heard me shouting. I'm such an idiot.

"Who's Eleanor?" Lizzie repeated, death staring Scott.

"I-"

"Do you know something about Xornoth that we don't?" Shelby asked.

"No, I-"

"Is Eleanor someone who's working with Xornoth?" fWhip asked.

Scott looked around, everyone seemed to be bothering him with questions. Well, everyone but Jimmy.

Scott and Jimmy made eye contact and Scott gave him a 'Please help' look.

Jimmy seemed to catch on and said, "Hey guys, we should stop interrogating him. I know we're all worried about Xornoth, but the more we interrogate each other, we won't get anywhere. And we'd just get into fights anyway."

Lizzie sighed, "I guess you're right. But Scott, we need to know everything you know about Xornoth."

"Lizzie! I just said stop interrogating him and you are again!" Jimmy shouted at his sister.

'Thank you' Scott mouthed to Jimmy, then he flew out and left.

Scott thought he heard someone shout his name, he's pretty sure it was Jimmy.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween! I might take a bit of a break from posting this story (only for a bit) because I'm working on another story. But you can expect another chapter in about a week or two.
