(The year is 2002. An organization is sitting at a big round table, wondering what to do with the large amount of files sitting right in front of them. A woman by the name of Doctor Allen examined the closest file and held it in her hands. The cover read, “Experiment Log #1 - #3”. The date at the bottom read, “August 5th, 1996”.)

Log #1 : The First Tests

So far, the ball of energy seems to have a mind of its own. Like it’s an actual human being. It can sense many emotions, some being ones that the group didn’t know existed! I tried to see if it could taste, smell, or feel anything I placed near it. Fortunately, it somehow worked! The subject can feel and smell, but it cannot taste. I tried foods such as onions and bell peppers, red meats, chicken, and even straight up leaves from the oak tree, and yet I couldn't get it to eat anything. I guess it doesn’t have a mouth, which makes sense, because it is literally a ball of energy. It still doesn’t explain how it can smell and feel things.

Log #2 : Data Collected

After preparing for at least 3 weeks, the group has enough data to figure out what the subject is and where it came from. My pal, Quince, said that it came from somewhere outside of our galaxy, but had traces of it around Earth. It doesn’t look like it has been here for a long time, so this has to be a recent discovery. We linked it with the event in 1983 that caused a massive power outage for 72 hours, and it looks like it’s the same thing, except more dangerous. After the period of no power, there have been some reports of weird genetic ‘errors’, or what people used to call, ‘glitches’. Infants would be born with an unnatural eye color, or would have everlasting purple or pink birthmarks on their body. Parents called the group in panic, and some people tried to sue for some reason, but luckily everything was resolved.

Log #3 : Human Malfunction?

I was going over paperwork this morning, as per usual, and the contained subject was doing whatever routine it had in the morning when the 'malfunction' happened. Catherine had brought a child by the name of Oliver L/N that could have been affected by the blackout. Multiple reports from my colleagues read that children have reactions towards the subject, most being negative. We were told that we had to test at least 500 infants from hospitals, and children from ages 5-9 while at school.

Oliver's first reaction was to start. Only a blank expression could be seen on his face, like he was familiar with this outer space creature. Some silence consumed the room for 2 and a half minutes and I was a bit worried. This kid was having a staring contest with a damn alien thing! Why shouldn't I worry?
