Problem In The System
While the pair of lovers indulged in each other, on the other side of LA, YouTube HQ was in crisis.
"Sandra! Get in here!" Mike Vatten called to the woman to enter his office.
"Yes sir?"
"What are the stats?"
"Number 5 on the leaderboard is Tronner, Number 4 on the leaderboard is Septiplier, Number 3 on the leaderboard is Pewdiecry-"
"Just skip 2 and tell me that Number 1 is Phan."
"Ah, sir...Phan is not Number 1."
"What?!"
"The ship of Pewdieplier has been deemed most popular among the YouTube community, sir." The woman looked down at her shoes, worried about what he might do next.
"Well then, we need to let this whole facility know."
"Yes sir." And she walked out of his office.
Sandra herself did not particularly ship anyone on YouTube together, but this time there was a small exception.
I mean, who didn't think that the pair were just the cutest thing ever. Even though she was told that it was all fake, there was just something about it that seemed so...real. There was something there, no one could deny it. Walking up to the P.A station, she sent out the memo to the particular team dealing with ships;
"Dear Team,
It has come to our attention that Phan had been overtaken on the ship board by Pewdieplier. It is your job to contain this and keep everything in its place, and you have failed to do this. Whatever you do to fix this problem is not our concern, but it needs to be mended immediately.
- Vatten"
Of course she wasn't going to sign it in her own name, she knew all of the Ship Team loved the pair of gamers as well. Sending off the message, Sandra went on her way back to work, she had to work on the front page of YouTube, anyway.
Sean McLoughlin walked through the front doors of YouTube HQ, when he was almost knocked over by a woman rushing to her desk.
"Hey! You almost knocked me over then!"
"Well, sorry, but you don't run the front page of YouTube, do you?"
"I make YouTube happen."
The woman looked up to see the man standing over her desk, and recognising who it was, was not the one to swoon.
"Oh, you."
"Why? What about me?"
"Nothing."
"It must've meant something."
The woman slid her chair out from her desk, looking up at him,
"Why are you here? Let alone, bothering me? Shouldn't you be talking up one of the dumb receptionists at the front office?"
"You've got an attitude, you know that?"
"That doesn't answer my question."
"I'm here because I'd like to see what I can do so that Pewdieplier never bothers anyone again."
"And what does any of this have to do with you?"
"Well..." He was lost for words.
"Yep, that's what I thought, now if you'll excuse me, I have to pick music videos for this weeks top trending."
"No, you don't understand, I love Mark, we have to be together."
"Have you read the terms and conditions of the matchmaking process and agreement?"
Sean was silent,
"No."
"And have you ever been chosen to be matched and successfully been top couple and have to right to be in a relationship with anyone you choose?"
"No."
"Well then, I don't think you should hassle me any further. I've got work to do."
"Just-"
"No. Listen to me, and listen good. This is not my problem. What do you think I do around here all day? Just sort out all of the complaints about the matchmaking service? No. I have important work to do. If you want to talk to someone else, and get rejected, please, head down to the 'Ship and Matchmaking Department", because I don't have time for this." And she turned on her heel and left. He was left standing there.
"Do you think they hate us?" Felix asked, his head lying on Mark's bare chest.
"Hate us?" Mark answered, playing with Felix's hair, "Maybe. I heard that we overtook Phan as most popular ship."
"Wow, that's one for the record books."
"I guess so. We have a heap of haters, but also a lot of people that love us."
"Love us?"
"Yeah."
"Like I love you."
"And like I love you."
"That's so cheesy."
"I know."
And Felix giggled.
"Did you just giggle?"
"What?! No!"
"I think you did."
"I definitely did-ah! Stop it, Mark!" Felix broke into a fit of laughing as Mark tickled him. After stopping this, Mark spoke first.
"Just think, 24 hours ago, we'd never even properly kissed."
"We kissed before that!"
"But not properly."
"I guess so."
"Are you okay?"
"Jack was going to take advantage of you, I know it."
"Yeah, I know. He must hate us."
"I don't care who hates us, I don't care who loves us, as long as you're mine."
