Away
I wake up in a frazzle, having no idea where we are. My back aches from being asleep in the seat where I was. I look up, and take in my surroundings, and see Mark driving the car. He looks over at me and sees me awake.
"Felix, thank god you're awake. I was beginning to think I'd lost you."
"What? Why? Where are we? What happened?"
"Don't you remember?"
They carry me away from him, in opposite directions, before sitting me down in a plain white room.
"Here's your paperwork." The man spits at me, handing me a clipboard.
"No! I don't want this! Tell me where my boyfriend is!"
"Oh poor little Felix, weak without his boyfriend!" He laughs at me, making fun of the situation.
"He's going to get me out of here, we're going to be together. He's more powerful than you think, he's smart."
"Oh," the man snickers at me, "I wish that was true." And small the door shut behind him. Questions race through my mind, are they holding me captive? What if they're hurting Mark? Oh god, what if they kill me? What if they kill him? I look down at my paperwork, I know better than to write on them. I'm startled when the door opens. An all too familiar face appears, and I jump up from my chair and run to him.
"Mark! Thank god you're okay!" I jump into his arms, and it's never felt so good, I feel like I'll never take it for granted again.
"Quickly, we have to go." He pulls me away and grabs my hand as he pulls me through the corridors until we're stopped by the men joined by Vatten.
"And where do you think you're going?" Vatten says, as the men try to step in front of him, but he puts a hand out. "No, no, no, just leave them be. They'll be scared, they're too scared."
"No!" A person yells out, and smoke pours out everywhere, and suddenly, Vatten and the men are gone. Someone pushes me from behind, and I hit my head on the floor. My vision goes blurry, and I'm unable to move, yet I can still see what's going on.
"Felix! No, please!" He picks me up off of the floor, and races for the door. Swinging it open, a car pulls up, a woman get out and runs to the door where we are.
"You don't know me, but I know you. And you need to get away from here, take this." She hands Mark the keys.
"How can I repay you?" Mark yells as the woman runs inside.
"Go." She whispers, and runs inside, and we're left to the car. Mark runs around to the door and puts me in, doing up my seatbelt. He then gets in the drivers seat, before pausing,
"Felix,
I love you."
And we drive off. Away from the horrible mess that we're in.
"I'm so sorry, Felix, I'm so sorry."
"Don't be." I turn around and look back at the city. The city of Los Angeles.
"Say goodbye to your career, Felix. Say goodbye to everything. Say goodbye to your world."
"I'm not. You're my world."
"Where are they?! How did you let them get away?!"
"I don't know, sir, I was arriving, and they just took my car!"
"This is your fault!"
"How is it my fault?!"
"You, Sandra, let them get away!"
"Did I?"
"What-"
"No, sir, you're perfectly right. I let them get away. I drove around HQ for an hour, planned everything down to the last second. You never wanted them to win, and even if you did, there would've been a catch. I couldn't let them have that!"
"You broke the rules, Sandra."
"Rules are made to be broken."
"They'll hunt us down, you know that right? Vatten will send his men, and we'll be screwed."
"We aren't worth it."
"Please, you're their biggest YouTuber, they can't afford to loose you."
"Can they?"
"They can't. Not without you."
"Pull in here." I point to an opening in the trees, as he turns and we go deeper into the forest. The car the woman gave us was a good one, a large one, with a gigantic backseat that would fold back. Finally coming to a stop, we took our seat belts off.
"Sleep?"
"Sleep."
We climb over our seats and fold the seats down. Grabbing a blanket from the trunk of the car, we cuddle down in the back. I latch onto him and he doesn't let go. He doesn't push me off, or turn his back. He isn't like Marzia and tells me I'm too clingy. Instead, this wonderful boyfriend of mine, with his raven hair and chocolate eyes, does the exact opposite.
He holds me.
