How it Should Have Happened Part 28

This takes place in the time after Lucy's talk with Haiku.

WAKE UP INMATES!

When she heard those words, Lynn quickly shot off her bed quickly. Her back was killing her thanks in part to the metal bed that had a hard mattress with a simple blanket and pillow. None of helped with the never ending back pain that seemed to plague her every morning.

"Great. Another day in this dump." Lynn grumbled as she started to head towards the cell door. As she did, she tried not to look at the grey floor that was always cold or the bathroom that was in the corner. It also had a metal desk that held some books that gave her some entertainment...for the most part. There was a window in the cell as well, but that only gave her a view of a world that didn't understand.

A world that seemed to favor that jinx. Just thinking about him made her blood boil, but she held herself back from focusing on it. She was only supposed to be here for 6 months after all and then she would be right back home. Lynn couldn't wait to go back there so she could finally express her disapproval for turning their backs on her. Before she could continue to think of the joy that it would bring her...the cell door beeped before opening slowly.

After it opened fully, Lynn started to speed walk towards the mess hall before that group got in her way. A group that picked her as their number one target. Speaking of which, she collided with one of the most annoying members on her way to eat. She had blonde hair with streaks of pink and purple running through on the left and right side of her hair. It was styled in pigtails which made her childish in Lynn's eyes. However, she also had a lean build with tattoos located on her arms and face.

"Oh, looks like it's my lucky day." She said with a huge smile on her face. It sounded like she was excited to see her, but Lynn knew better. After all, she had such glee watching the rest of her group bossing her around.

"Eva don't you have anything better to do than bothering me." Lynn said. The girl, Eva, was silent for a couple of seconds before she continued to speak.

"Nope. Besides, I'm just following the big boss's orders." Eva said.

"Well tell your boss to leave me alone or else I will...." Lynn started to say before a shout came behind her.

"Ladies, less chatter and move over to the mess hall." A guard said in a stern voice.

"Looks like we have to cut our conversation short. Don't get a big ego about it though or the boss will get very angry." Eva said as she skipped over to the mess hall. That caused Lynn to sigh before walking over there as well, but as she did so...

This day is just going to get worse.

Never knowing how these words would come to bite her in the coming weeks. At the same time, Lincoln slowly blinked his eyes open to see that he was in kind of hospital room.

"W..What happened?" Lincoln asked before memories of that night flashed through his head. He knew that Lynn would be angry, but he never expected that she would do something horrible like this. The scene kept playing in his mind especially her face. A face full of blind rage. It was burned into his memory and would taint the good memories that he had with her. Memories that he still kept in his heart despite the NSL incident that has strained the bond between them.

"Hopefully the others won't go down Lynn's route." He said before he laid back down on the bed. He was carefully not to agitate the bruises and injured arm that he had. Thanks to the pain medicines, they weren't hurting him, but they were still sore. Shaking his head, he tried to watch some cartoons while thinking about the next sister who would apologize.

But which one will need to be seen to be believed.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
