I sat in the corner
Thinking about his odour
"I missed you," he murmured.
"You kissed her," I wondered.

My face dampened in tears,
His eyes were filled with fear.
This happened to me last year,
Yet, I am in tears.

He once said that we'd last forever,
Oh honey, look what he meant by 'forever'.

His words echoed in my mind,
As, tears obscured my sight,
I slowly felt blind,
Not by vision but by mind.

I scuttled through the scenic place
That consumed my mental space
Since it held memories of us,
That no one else could replace.

What was I?
Befuddled, bedraggled, besotted?
A heart that beat
For the one who'd forgotten,
A mind that thought of a relationship
Where, love was forbidden.

In whispers, he spoke sweet deceit,
A forked tongue that once made me weak.

U left the scars that can't be healed.
After the secrets that were
revealed.

But, now I am free
From the chain named 'love'
which was nothing but greed.
