Chapter 4 - Meeting Him
I'm not sure how long I was up for, but I definelty woke up when I felt something cold and damp was placed over my forehead. The next thing I heard was footsteps walking away, then the sound of a door closing.
I realized I was lying on a bed because I felt a pillow beneath my head as a blanket was placed over me. I waited a few minutes before sitting up. "Where am I?" I whispered. I sniffed the air, but I couldn't make out where I was.
Was I captured by the ANBU? Am I in there secret facility or whatever? If I am, then I need to get out of here and fast. I got off the bed and walked on my hands and feet, heading towards the door. Once I found it, I opened it quietly, then sniffed the air.
I headed left and ran down the hall. I came to a stop and sniffed the air, trying to find the exit. "Let's see... If I keep going straight, then make a right, I should be able to make it to the exit." I said to myself.
I followed the instructions I provided for myself, but when I got to the exit, I smelled someone else's presence, making me come to a stop. I stayed hidden and waited for the human to do something. But I didn't hear him move.
Why was he just standing there? Did he see me? Is he waiting for me to come out of hiding? "Are you all healed up?"
I gasped when he spoke. He sees me! Wait a minute...
I felt at the ground and my senses kicked in as I saw that he had his back turned to me. I could see the form of his chakra. Okay, so he didn't see me. He just felt my chakra. "I asked you a question. I want an answer." He said. No point in hiding or staying quiet since he's spotted me.
"I'm fine," I answered. "Wait, are you the one who found me?"
"Yes. I was taking a walk until I found you near the shore." He answered. I frowned slightly. "You're a human, right? Why did you save me?" I asked. "Because it's not in my nature to let foxes die." The man said.
"What? You can tell I'm a fox?" I asked, surprised. "Of course I can. It's really not that hard to miss." The man stated. I frowned again as my cheeks turned red. "Is this the part where you keep me here against your will because I'm your debt?" I asked.
"No." He answered. My ears twitched with curiosity when he said, no. "I have no intention of keeping a child against their will. Especially when you're no of use to me. Go back where you came." He said.
"But that's just the thing. I don't know where to go. I'm don't even know where I am." I mentioned. I didn't hear the man reply, so I assumed he was thinking. I prepared to attack when I heard him walking over to me.
I expected to hurt me or something, but he didn't. After a few seconds of standing there like an idiot, I realized he only walked past me. I turned my head in his direction as I heard his footsteps becoming more and more distant.
Okay...?
Uh, what?
