Chapter 24 - Finally
It was finally here.
The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived.
And the moment that I'll be walking down and saying my vows is finally here.
I walked slowly down the aisle, my father's grip tight on my arm. I smiled, my cheeks hurting. I remember I wanted to look at everyone as I walked down the aisle, but as soon as the doors opened my eyes immediately sought out Lou's.
Twinkling blue eyes like stars.
My eyes stayed there.
Lou.
It was a blur and all I could see was him. My future.
His eyes were slightly red, watering as he grinned at me. Harry stood next to him, leaning over to make a comment to Lou that made him nod happily. His eyes never left mine.
The faces that lined the aisle could be strangers for all I cared.
All I saw was Lou. My soon-to-be husband.
We walked closer and closer until we reached the altar. My father kissed my forehead as his hand squeezed my shoulder affectionately.
"I still got that shotgun if he acts up," he whispered, his small smile causing his graying mustache to stretch.
I smiled, squeezing my dad's hand before he passed my hand to Louis.
Lou's smiled, a tear sliding down his face as he pulled me up to the step next to him.
We held our breaths as we looked at each other. The silence in the moment was endearing as we just took the time to appreciate one another.
"Hi," Lou whispered.
I laughed, memories swirling into my mind of the first time we met. When I had been "kidnapped" for my 19th birthday. So much has happened since then.
Louis had his usual cheeky grin when he introduced himself.
"My name is Louis Tomlinson, however you may know me as the sassmaster of Doncaster!"
"Or Jennifer," Harry remarked.
Louis had quickly jumped on him, sending them both sailing down.
I remember thinking he was a complete lunatic. I remember how immature he was, though I was just as immature. I remember it all. Especially the first moment we met.
"But nothing bad happened!" Louis cried.
I had been infuriated, my fingers itching to strangle him.
"I was kidnapped, Jennifer!"
I laughed, letting the memories run through my mind of all the good times and all the bad times as I looked at the man in front of me in his pressed black suit.
"Hi Jennifer," I whispered, raising an eyebrow.
His eyes narrowed in amusement, squeezing my hands before silently moving his lips as the ceremony began. "I love you."
A tear escaped my eye. I was finally getting my happily ever after.
"Je t'aime."
He squeezed my hands, his eyes twinkling.
"I now pronounce you man and wife!"
