"What do you mean he still hasn't kissed you?" Kiera asked, turning on her right side to face Sky's bed, on which she was laying.
"Maybe he doesn't see this going anywhere and just wants us to be friends." Sky suggested reluctantly, holding her covers to her chin.
"I really doubt that. One: you are so fucking hot, if I were gay I'd date you. And two: he told you he would kiss you if you weren't sick Friday."
"He did say that but maybe it was just teasing..." Sky mumbled.
"Ok I announce this pity party as over, get your ass up and go ask him." Kiera decided, getting up herself to nudge her best friend in the side.
"I can't just go ask him why he didn't kiss me yet!"
"Why the hell not? At least you'll have a clear answer and you can stop racking your brain, and mine."
Maybe it was the exhaustion of a week's test or the fact that Callen had been on her mind every second of every day which had been really distracting, but Sky didn't protest more and stood up. She grabbed her grey hoodie and put it on to shield her from the cold before exiting her dorm room, ignoring her best friend's cheers.
Callen's dorm was right across from hers but the weather had been particularly depressing these past few days and if it wasn't raining, the wind would freeze you in ten seconds. She was motivated though, like a soldier on a really weird mission, and so she put on her hood over her hair and counted to three before running in the pouring rain to cross over to Callen's dorm.
She realized she probably should have called to make sure he was there but it was too late to back out now so she climbed the two flights of stairs up to his room, shivering. The rain had managed to wet her hoodie completely in under five seconds. She tied the wet locks of her hair up in a ponytail and exhaled deeply before knocking at Callen's door.
What if he was sleeping? She didn't want to wake him up... Or his roommate for that matter. God this was such a stupid idea! Why did she ever listen to Kiera?
"Sky!" Callen exclaimed, surprised, as he opened the door.
He shielded his eyes from the light and she realized that one: he wasn't wearing a shirt and two: she had in fact probably woken him up.
"Hi!" She had completely forgotten what she wanted to say in the first place. His lack of a shirt was completely distracting her.
"Hi." He smiled at her.
Since words seemed to disappear on her and she apparently had forgotten everything she had planned to tell him, there was only one thing she could do. She rose on her tiptoes and closed her eyes before kissing him.
She had never made the first move before and she could sense Callen was surprised but he was quick to embrace her and return the kiss. And boy was it a kiss. She could feel herself falling really, really deep but she would deal with that later.
They parted and she caught her breath.
"Okay um, goodnight." She blurted before racing out of his dorm room.
What the hell? What had gotten into her?
"Wait! Sky!"
She stopped in her running and saw Callen had followed her all the way down the two flights of stairs and to the entrance door.
"What just happened?" He asked as she turned around to face him. "Is this a dream? I could have sworn you tasted like the best type of cotton candy though when you kissed me."
She laughed and blushed at the same time.
"I just..." Why didn't words come out of her mouth normally tonight for god's sake? "Ok, this is going to sound really stupid but I wanted to know why you still hadn't kissed me even though we went out like three times already and so I came to your dorm room to ask you because it was eating me up and then here you were all shirtless and sleepy and ..." She stopped herself short. "I'm ranting because I'm embarrassed, I tend to do that a lot I'm sorry."
He chuckled and to Sky's surprise, he didn't run back to his room wondering who the hell this crazy chick was. Instead, he wrapped his arms around her waist and smiled at her.
"I noticed that already. I also noticed that you have little freckles on your nose when you're in the sun, that you snort slightly when you laugh really loud and that you blush right after probably because you're embarrassed but I find it oddly incredibly cute. I noticed that you pick at your nails when you're stressed and that you tend to look at everywhere but people's eyes when you have to ask them for a favor."
Sky was speechless. Not only because Callen was holding her close but mostly because she had no idea he had paid so much attention to her. She was breathless.
"I didn't kiss you yet because I usually fuck everything up when it comes to relationships and I really don't want to fuck it up with you. I know you're aware of my... reputation and I didn't want you to think you were just some girl to me because you're... really not that."
She laughed and tried to ignore her heart going wild.
"But now that you know that, well..."
He lowered his head and she smiled right as his lips found hers.
