[3] "A word of advice, never trust the girl behind youin line to buy a fish."

+Ashton+

The car ride home had just begun, It was going to be a long drive and I was beyond pissed.

Michael was happily chatting away in the front seat as Luke still tried to calm the screaming child, only adding to my headache. Calum listened to Michael, occasionally nodding his head or replying with a quick, one word answer.

I scoffed at Michael, placing the ugly little goldfish (In a bag of water) that I bought carefully onto the floor at my feet.

"What is your problem, Ash." Luke asked over Colton's crying.

"Nothing." I mumbled, pulling fluffys from my t-shirt.

"Oh no, it so is. You guys get ready for a great story, it may take a while." Grinned Michael, turning around in the front seat, to face us all.

I placing my hands over my face, hiding my blushing cheeks and muttered an 'Oh god'.

"So it began like this. We had just walked away from you guys..."

FLASHBACK

We walked forwards, away from the boys and the two kids. Michael decided that we would first make our way to the huge furniture warehouse across the road from the large shopping centre.

I agreed, pushing my hair back and slightly to the side, letting it fall back near my cheeks. We waited along the side of the road, seeing no opening in between cars, Mikey decided to just sprint across. I however, did not feel like running and definitely not between cars driving just a few metres apart.

I waited and waited, Michael becoming impatient on the other side of the road, walking inside by himself. I pouted, before sprinting through a gap between two cars, almost getting hit.

Never doing that again.

I waltzed into the large warehouse, my eyes squinting in search of Mikey. Of course he was no where to be seen. god dammit.

I walked around the front of the large warehouse, pushing my hair back as I squinted again, looking around for Michael. Spotting him by a huge ass shelf, I wandered over towards him, digging my fingers into his sides as he screamed like the little girl he is, jumping backwards and falling flat onto his back.

I began laughing, not being able to stop myself as Michael grunted whilst hauling himself from the floor, dusting off his shoulders.

I finally calmed myself, wiping under my eyes quickly with a smirk plastered on my face, looking up to where Mikey was pointing.

I reached upwards, moving a small zip tie out of the way, reading:

ROUNDED WOODEN CRIB, WHITE -

and then a brand that I would have no clue how to pronounce.

I shrugged, examining the small picture on the box before forcing Michael to help me drag it off of the shelf.

We walked around for a while, grabbing a few things now and then from every few shelves, taking it all up to the counters to pay at the end.

_ _ _

We got slightly bored, you could say.

Michael ended up in a music store, a few stores down from where I was. In the pet shop.

You're probably thinking, Ash, why the pet shop. But I figured, Ava would probably like a pet, and Colton would probably like to look at a pet, so it's a win win situation really.

I did laps around the store trying to decide what animal to buy, pulling at my hair because there was so many damn choices.

Puppy, too hard too look after.

Kitten, too scratchy for the kids.

Mouse, no thanks.

Rabbit, smells bad.

Fish, yes.

I grinned, taking long strides over to where the fish were located, arriving in front of the tanks just before a gorgeous girl with mid length wavy blonde hair and hazel eyes. She looked slightly annoyed and sent me a sarcastic smile before going back to tapping her foot against the ground, hand on hip.

I spun on my heels as a worker came over smiling.

"Pick out a fish and I'll get him all packaged up so you can take him home!" She smiled sweetly before lifting a small fish net and filling a plastic bag with water.

I searched the fish tank with my eye before pointing to a small blue fish.

I heard a snort behind me, turning to the girl with wavy blonde hair and raising an eyebrow. She looked up before straightening her stance and clearing her throat.

"Sorry, but you just chose the worst fish." She stated plainly.

"Excuse me?" I questioned her.

"I mean, look at it. It's fin is crooked, its tail is way out of proportion, and it's eye is like the size of Mars. You're an idiot if you buy that fish."

I shrugged before turning to the fish and shaking my head, pointing to a new one. The worker lifted the fish out, plopping it nicely into the bag and zip tying it closed.

As I walked to the counter, I turned and got a glimpse of the blonde girl picking out the blue fish that I had previously chosen. Fuming, I backtracked towards her, throwing my hands up.

"What the hell?" I exclaimed pointing towards her fish.

She turned to me with a smirk plastered on her face, holding up her newly picked out blue fish.

"A word of advice, never trust the girl behind you in line to buy a fish." She winked before sauntering off, buying her fish and walking out of the pet shop.

I angrily shook my head, a from etched across my face, and payed for my fish before leaving the store in a bad mood.

~Michael~

We decided to split up after buying all of the necessities for Ava and Colton, me moving off towards the music store and Ash leaving in search of a pet.

I walked through the entrance of the store, tapping my fingers against a shelf, my eyes searching the store for a worker after seeing no one at the desk.

I turned around the corner of a shelf, before quickly cowering back behind it, peeking my head round to chuckle quietly at the sight before me.

A girl that looked around eighteen or nineteen was stacking shelves with CDs, her ears covered with a large pair of headphones, jumping around, shaking her booty, and occasionally adding in some air guitar here and there.

I finally finished with my laughter, brushing off my shirt for some unknown reason and walked around the corner, speaking to the girl.

"Excuse me"

No reply, just some air guitar movements.

"ExCUSE ME"

Nothing.

I sighed before moving towards her and tapping her shoulder, moments before she spun around, giving me a nice karate chop to my face. Ouch.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I thought you were coming to attack me, God I'm so stupid sometimes." She pulled the headphones from her ears, inspecting my face quickly. "No real damage done though, you're still beautiful." She mumbled the last bit before her eyes went wide.

I laughed rather loudly before shaking my head. "Not too bad yourself there, shorty."

She blushed before looking down towards the ground, before I stuck my hand out towards her "I'm Michael"

"Jc"

"Nice to meet ya" I grinned whilst shaking her hand.

"I'll see you round then?" She questioned, shuffling back behind the desk and leaning forwards onto it.

I grabbed a pen from the pot on the desk, scribbling my number down onto her hand and winking before proudly waltzing away.

_ _ _

I almost squealed like a girl once I made it to the car, I was so damn smooth in there.

I couldn't keep the smile off my face as Ash made it to the car, scowling and obviously in a bad mood.

Shrugging, I let it go before the boys arrived back with Ava and Colton, eventually making our way home.

END FLASHBACK

"-And that's why Ashton is in such a bad mood!" I finished off, grinning from ear to ear.
