Before you start reading I want to tell you that this ENTIRE chapter is in Zack's POV. This is going back when Leah passed out from "seeing" her sister, Lucy. That's a little far back but I'm sure you got this. Any questions, just ask me and I'll try to answer them! :D on to the chap!!!!

Chapter 8

Zack's POV

I sat down on the grass. I took my sandwich from out of my bag and took a bite. I kept eating until I was done and put my trash back in the bag.

You know what I hate the most about myself? That I show others I'm weak, I show my tears of pain, regret, guilt, not that it's a bad thing for others but it is for me. I don't want to do that no more.

Mom why did you have to give birth to me? Dad why did you hide me for years? Afraid I was going to mess up your reputation? I mean I know you're like the leader of all gods but why keep me a secret? I'm just an abomination to you, that's all I ever was to you. You don't give a dam about me and you probably never will.

Mom I don't know how you could stick up for that man, but really why did you have to give birth to me? It's all my fault you died. I don't understand how you could smile whole heartedly, how you love me even though it's my fault I caused you pain. I caused you to die.

All the pressure of raising us, working two jobs just to get food on the table, you would get me a toy for my birthday even though I told you not too so you could buy yourself something. When you gave birth to me I made you weak and in pain for years. All those years, you never once cried in front of me, you never showed any weakness. I'll be strong for you, mom I will make you proud.

I stood up and looked down at the headstone.

Here lies Emily Harrison, beloved wife, mother, and friend a person could ask for. May your heart and soul rest in peace; you will forever live in our memory, mind and spirit.

I wonder if father ever thinks of her, probably not.

I wiped the dirt off of my pants and placed the flowers on the headstone and started walking. I turned back around. Goodbye mother.

I took a deep breath and sighed. I kept walking for about an hour until I reached a big hill.

My mother always wanted me to go to Camp Half-Blood and told me if anything ever happened to her I should go here. My older brother died in war and my sister comes and goes. I haven't seen here since we left that Lotus Hotel and found out were demi-gods. It's been a good year since I last saw her but I'm sure she'll show up eventually but I've stopped caring for a while.

I walked up the high ass hill. Mom showed me how to get here before she died in 1948. It's still hard for me to figure out how old I'm supposed to be, I'm 17 now but I was never good in my math studies. Now that I think of it I don't think I remember how mom died.

I turned my head to the side when I heard the most agonizing yell I've ever heard. I ran towards the scream and it stopped.

'Crap, how am I supposed to find the person that was screaming?' I mumbled under my breath. I heard a whisper and I listened intently.

It was soft crying and I tried to follow it but I didn't know what direction it was coming from. I listened harder and heard a whisper.

'Go straight, you need to help her quickly!' someone whispered. I went straight and for a while didn't see anything. I was about to turn around when I saw something move. I ran towards the movement and found a girl about my age.

I picked her up and walked back towards camp. I entered the camp feeling the slight wave of pressure then kept walking until I got to a large blue house. I remember this house when my mom took me here. She said she was given permission to show me around then she couldn't come back.

I went inside and put her in the infirmary. Where is everyone? I stayed there for a minute then the door opened and a big, tall girl with long straight brown hair, and dark brown eyes entered the room and stared at me. I could instantly tell who her parent is, Ares. What was strange though I didn't know who the girl I carried parent is.

'Who are you?' The girl said in a strong sturdy voice.

'No one you need to know. I found this girl in the woods and she's a demi-god, you know her?' I said and she looked pissed that I didn't answer but looked at the girl and her eyes softened.

'So you know her or what?' I said getting impatient for some reason.

'Yes, I'll be back.' She said leaving the room. I looked at the girl again then felt a tap on my shoulder.

'What the f-' I started then got cut off.

'Watch your language mister.' Said a middle-aged man, he was wearing jogging clothes, has lack curly hair, elfish ears and looked at me with a sly grin.

'Hermes, what are you doing here?' I asked him turning back at the girl.

'You need to come attend a meeting in Mount Olympus, but in secret. Your father needs to have a word with you.

'Wonderful' I said sarcastically. Hermes' grin grew wider as we walked outside. I whistled and a white Pegasus landed right in front of me.

'Hey Guido, how you been' I said to the Pegasus, climbing on his back. He raised his head up and down.

'I'm going to guess that means good.' I said laughing as he took off and I immediately stopped laughing. I forget to mention I'm scared of heights.

*One terrifying flight later*

We finally made it to the dam place and I walked behind a pillar as Hermes joined the conversation. I couldn't really hear anything because I was really far away but the only words I heard is that an angel has been born.

I waited and heard steps coming this way. I hid behind the pillar at a different angle so I could see who was walking by and they couldn't see me. I saw a little girl blur past but she never turned her face towards me. I waited a bit and heard the god's and goddesses shuffling out of the room.

I felt a presence behind me and turned around quickly.

'Hello son, I have a job I need you to do.' My father said behind me and I sighed.

'What kind of job?' I asked in a flat tone. The only reason he's taking an interest in me is because I do tasks for him and it gets quite annoying.

'I need you to kind the angel before Hades does.' He said in a serious business tone.

'And what does she look like.' I asked him and he was quiet.

'You want me to find a person without knowing what they look like and no details on how to find them!?' I loud enough where he could hear me and no one else can. I felt a hand connect with my cheek and I fell back from the force.

'You will NEVER speak to me in that tone. Do I make myself clear?' he said in an icy flat tone. I nodded my head and bit my tongue so I wouldn't start yelling again. I tasted a salty coppery taste in my mouth and realized I was biting my tongue to hard.

'Start off with Camp Hal-blood, the angel should most likely be there. When she first gets her powers you and everyone else will feel it. I can't explain it but you'll know.' He said walking away from me. I got up and headed towards Camp Half-blood.

*Another terrifying flight later*

I decided I'll rest before I head to the camp. I stopped in front of the cabin I was living in and I told Guido I can walk to the camp myself since it wasn't that far and he nodded and left. I walked into the cabin not looking where I was going until I landed on my bed. I instantly fell asleep and in to the welcoming dark

I went to Camp Half-Blood after a while and I finally noticed there were people here and they instantly rushed me. I noticed a lot of them were girls and a lot consisted girls from Aphrodite's cabin. I need to get out of here quickly; I think I'm getting claustrophobic.

'Hey, I need to send a message to my dad, so I'll be right back.' I said and all the girls swooned and let me out of the group we had ended up making. I walked to the woods and sprinted away for dear life. I slowed down when I heard a crackling sound.

I saw a girl bent over burning something because I saw fire, I was distracted a little bit by the way she was acting.

What is she doing? She put the fire out and I decided to speak, I mean after all, what is a girl doing this far deep in the woods?

'What are you doing?' I said bluntly. She turned around and she looked really hot. She stared at me for a while and a smirk made its way on my face. She rolled her eyes at me then stood up and walked away. What a b!tch! And I was actually being nice to her!

'Hey! Don't walk away from me!' I yelled pulling her around by the wrist and she slapped me. No person, besides my father has ever slapped me across my face. I stared at her bewildered.

'Dude, leave me alone.' she said pulling away from me and stalking off. I got in front of her. What the hell, I was only asking her a question!

'Who are your parents?' I asked her. Usually I can tell but I couldn't with her. She tried to walk around me but I stopped her again, I could see she was getting mad but she already made me mad so I could care less.

'Yo, what the hell is wrong with you? Do you not understand the meaning of LEAVE ME ALONE?' she said turning around trying to move away. I stepped in front of me again.

'I asked you two questions already and you haven't answered to any of them.' I said in a cold voice. Hey, I tried to be nice but that doesn't seem to be working. She was about to reply when I was pushed into a tree and felt pain crawl up my back.

'What the f*ck is wrong with you!?'I said getting really pissed getting up. I felt power surge in me as I tried to contain myself from sending a lightning bolt at her.

'She told you to leave her alone jack@ss.' a cold voice said and I looked up and glared at the guy who threw me to the tree. I felt a couple raindrops fall and I realized who I was glaring at.

'Nico it's so good to see you again.' I said smirking at Nico.

'Zack, what are you doing here.' Nico said emotionless but still glaring slightly. I silently laughed and was about to reply when I got cut off.

'You three in my office now!' said the camp's counselor Mr. D, well cousin to me anyway. He was glowering at us and then the girl ran up to him and gave him a hug. What the fuc-

'Uncle D. I missed you!' she yelled hugging him. She looked at me and I tried to close my gaping mouth but I was too shocked. How the hell does she know him!? Wait, UNCLE?!

'So how's your mother?' he asked. I could not keep up with anything. How? What? Who? When? I was about to ask how they were related and got cut off. Again.

'Lee, is that you?' Pollux asked walking up to the girl. I looked at her again trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. Then it clicked. Oh sh!t. That's the girl that I carried to the infirmary! That's why she looked so familiar!

I paid attention to the conversation again and noticed the tense atmosphere.

'Where's Castor?' the girl said looking around. I had heard about the war but I guess no one told her that Castor was one of the demi-gods that died in the battle. She must not know. I met Castor and Pollux when I visited camp a while back and we were really close, I guess after I left to do tasks for my father things started to fall apart.

'Lee, Castor's dead.' I looked away. I felt bad for her; I don't even think that she knows about the war.

'What? When? How? Why?' I hear her say and I listened to her cry. I followed Pollux to the main house and I walked to the little kitchen.

'What are you doing here Zack?' Nico asked me sitting on the counter.

'To be honest I don't know, I guess I feel like I have nowhere else to go.' I said surprised that I was telling him this but then again we were both close.

*Flashback*

'Mom why are you taking us to a hotel?' Jennifer, my older sister, asked. I followed behind looking at Nico. Why was he coming too? I mean it's cool and all since we're both 12 but why are we doing this?

'Yeah mom, why?' I asked my mom. Jennifer, Nico, Bianca (Nico's older sister) and I were practically running to keep up with her. We found the hotel and it looked really nice, how could we afford this? Mom struggles to buy teabags and sugar and now we're going to an expensive hotel?

'Sweetie I'm taking you there to be safe.' My mom said picking up the pace.

We finally made it to the Lotus Hotel and we all started going in except mom. I went back to the door.

'Mom, why aren't you coming in?' I asked holding the door out for her to come join us.

'Baby I need to do something before I join you okay?' she said and I nodded my head and went back in. Me and Nico went to a pinball machine and started playing with it. It felt like we were there for an hour before Nico and Bianca were taken by some lawyer. I said bye to them but right after that me and Jennifer were taken by some lawyer as well. When we came outside everything looked different.

We were only there for an hour right?

'Jen, what's going on here?' I asked her and our lawyer looked at us and took us to stores I've never heard of. She bought us weird clothes and then spoke.

'It's the year 2006.' She said. Jen and I looked at each other and busted out laughing. The lawyer sighed.

'I have a lot to tell you' she said and explained everything that we missed.

*End of flashback*

'So what's that girl's name?' I asked Nico and he looked like he was debating whether to tell me. After a minute or two he spoke.

'Leah' he said. Leah. What a pretty name. I heard someone come in and I turned to see who it was.

'Who are you?' Leah asked me. Oh yeah that's right, I never introduced myself.

'Zack' I said and she looked like she was thinking hard.

'Oh! I remember you! You were that guy that was outside! Sorry had a momentarily memory loss.

'That's okay.' I said and looked down to the floor. Nico hopped off the counter and went up to her.

'Are you okay?' he asked putting a hand to her hand and I felt a little mad for some reason. I went outside to get some air. I leaned on the back of a tree and felt someone flick my nose.

'What the f-'

'Ah, ah, ah. Watch your tongue mister.' Said the last voice I wanted to here. I glared at the girl smirking in front of me.

'What the hell do you want Jennifer.' I said through clenched teeth. She grinned and looked at me innocently.

'We have to go pick up a demi-god at a school not too far from here.' She said batting her eyelashes.

'Why do I have to go?' I asked her suspiciously.

'Cause you're the bestest younger brother in the world that loves his dear big sister so!' she said acting so dramatic that causing me to laughed. When she pouted I laughed harder.

'Ha, sorry, you must got the wrong sibling.' I said walking away. She stomped her foot and got in front of me.

'Father has requested it.' She said in a dead serious tone. I looked at her and she showed me a letter. I read through the letter quickly looking for the pass code that I know he always uses it and found it.

'Fine' I said following her to the car outside of camp. She got into the driver's seat.

'What are you doing?' I asked her as she slammed the door.

'Are you blind? I'm driving of course.' She said and I sighed. I'm too tired to argue.

'Let's just get this over with,' I said getting in the passenger's side. I watched as the trees became a blur and we drove to pick the demi-god up.
