Previously on Leah’s POV

‘Well, looks like our ride’s here,’ Jake said and His wings appeared.

‘Umm, how are we going to go with you?’ Nico asked and Jake looked puzzled.

‘Huh, I hadn’t thought about that.’ He said and looked back at the sky.

‘We need to go now, the portal is getting smaller,’ Lucy said grabbing Zack’s arm.

‘Justin, fly Nico up. Jake and I will take Zack.’ She said and Jake came to help her. I felt my wings appear and Evianna grab my hand.

‘No matter what happens remember, I never meant you any harm in the past.’ She said and I smiled at her pulling her into a hug.

‘We’ll get through this,’ I said and we grabbed hand and flew into the portal. Demogorgon be prepared, I will not let you get away for making my sister a slave to you.

Chapter 27

The Final Battle

Leah’s POV

I gasped and took a look around. It looked like we were in a small village but it looked destroyed. Some houses were on fire still and others were ash. The place looked like it was raided by a gang of Mafia pirates. I looked at everyone’s faces which showed shock, sadness, and anger. But what I noticed most was a face missing.

‘Where’s Evianna?’ I asked and everyone snapped out of there trance like state and looked around.

‘She was here just a second ago,’ Lucy said spinning around. I felt something in my hand and opened it revealing a letter written in red.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. My dear Kathalina, did you really think that it would be that easy? That you would be able to keep your sister? Well just to let you know, she belongs to me and I simply loaned her to you. If you truly ever want to see you sister alive meet my by the pound I made your sister push you in and be ready for battle. You have until sundown. Good luck, you’ll need it.

I crumpled up the paper and bent down clutching my head. This cannot be happening. It wasn’t supposed to be this way!

‘Leah?’ I heard Nico asked and I looked up at him. Concern was written all over his face and I felt my heart tighten. I can’t involve him in this. This is my fight not his. I stood up and was thankful I was back to my normal sixteen year old body.

‘Common let’s look for anyone still alive,’ Lucy chocked out and ran to a random house with all us trailing behind. I stayed back and no one seemed to notice I wasn’t there and I took that time to leave. I ran to a forest and touched the trees and I felt like I was seeing all ahead of me.

I trees blurred past me but in a way that I could remember, almost as if it were directions. I ended at a huge pound and Evianna was in a crumpled heap on the floor. You could see her breathing but just barely and the sun was getting ready to set soon. I saw no else and I was confused. Maybe this D person wasn’t there.

‘Evianna, everyone hates you. You’re worthless and you know it. Your parents loved your little sister more than you, don’t you remember that? All those days you cried, all those times you tried to impress your parents but it was never enough?’ I heard a voice say next to me and I held in my screech. The dude was blending in the shadows so well I hadn’t seen him.

‘No, stop it,’ Evianna whispered.

‘Don’t you remember all that pain when your own mother beat you and your father threw you down the portal?’ he said and I gasped silently. I had no idea that mother had beat her.

‘Stop,’ she whimper and grabbing her head. I wasn’t sure what he was doing but it seemed to hurt her mentally.

‘Stop putting those images in my head! I will never hurt my sister again!’ she yelled and he walked over to her and kicked her.

‘You piece of crap! Who took you in when you had nowhere to go?’ he bellowed and leaned close to her.

‘No one loves you but if you take my side all you’ll ever be is loved.’ He whispered sinisterly. I saw her eyes blank and tears went down her cheek.

‘No,’ she whispered before her eyes turned to a dull shade of gray.

‘Good girl,’ D chuckled and kicked her again.

‘I wonder if your sister really will come for you,’ he said and looked up at the sky. I went out to tackle him but the picture changed and I crashed into a tree.

‘Oww!’ I yelled then covered my mouth. I could hear the faint sound of my name being called and I began to panic. I would tell them what’s going on but Lucy’s words of one of them had to die rang in my ears. I focused trying to hide in the shadows and I felt myself being pulled into the dark just before they reached where I was.

‘She’s not here, let’s go,’ Justin said looking around. They all turned around to keep searching except Nico. He looked around slowly and for a second I thought he had seen me when he looked directly at me.

‘I thought I heard her yell oww,’ he said more to himself than sighed and turned around to catch up with the others. I sighed in relief and began walking towards the woods. I reached the place I had saw and was thrown against a tree. The air grew cold and I felt like the shadows were turning against me. They grabbed and held me tight as I looked up to the monster with shocked eyes.

‘You’re doing this?’ I yelled stunned. He grinned sinisterly as I struggled against the thing I had once felt safe that was now being used against me.

‘I really thought you were going to be more of a challenge. I guess life is full of disappointments isn’t it?’ he asked walking slowly to me and then faster than a blink of an eye he was knocked down to the ground by a black flame. I looked up and Nico’s arms were both covered on black flames. His eyes were pitch black and my heart dropped.

He wasn’t supposed to be here! The monster grinned and the shadows dropped me causing me to hit the floor hard and the pain was incredible. I watched Nico lift into the ground holding his neck and you could see a faint black smoke around his body.

I found energy in me and I lounged to the Demogorgon and knocked him down and Nico dropped to his knees coughing. I felt painful blows to my head as I kicked at the monster and he was thrown off me. Lucy was shooting arrows at him and Justin was shooting him with a weird gun I’ve never seen before.

I got on my knees and crawled to Evianna who was passed out and had a nasty gash on her head. I shook her lightly and she was still. She looked pale and it didn’t look like she was breathing. A tear went down my cheek as gripped her cold hand. I turned around and it felt like everything was in slow motion.

Jake was flung past me and Nico was thrown into a tree as Lucy was being held by the throat. I stood up and grabbed the blade that was strapped to my side. I ran towards the monster and just as he threw Lucy, I lounged on him knocking him down for second and I cut his cheek as he kicked me off and I felt a rib crack followed by an incredible pain.

‘You truly think it will be that easy to kill me? I can control shadows as well better than you can and once I cut out your heart, I will be the most powerful being that ever walked the earth!’ he yelled psychotically. He lifted the blade and I punched his face shocking him for a second making him slash my arm. I cried out in pain and tried to limp away but then it felt like my calf was on fire and when I looked at it to see what was wrong a blade was sunk in deep. I felt drained and tiered as I took the blade out and tried to crawl to Nico who was in a pool of blood. When I reached him the tears were flowing as he looked lifeless.

‘No,’ I whispered as I moved a piece of his hair from his eye. I looked up and the sight made feel even sicker. Some parts of the trees were on fire and there was bodies of the ones I loved scattered all around me. I felt so hopeless and loss so much sadness overwhelmed I felt more agony inside my heart than the actual physical pain I was going through. I squeezed my eyes so tight I thought they were going to glue shut.

Than faster than a blink of an eye all that sadness turned to rage. I had never so much hatred as I did for this one person, one monster, no. He was a demon that had cost me this pain and everyone I love to hurt. I stood despite the pain in my calf and my whole body and I looked at my arms and there were inscriptions of I don’t know what all over my body and as weird as it may sound, I felt my eyes glow bright red.

I walked to the demon and lifted my hand and he was lifted off the ground. He looked surprised as I held him up until I was holding his throat. I jumped and I was in the air gripping his neck so tight I could feel his blood in my nails. I looked at him with so much hatred as I lifted him higher and higher until we were in the clouds.

‘You have caused too many people pain and suffering.’ I said but it felt like I was speaking in a different language. I lifted him up more still gripping his throat and sent us hurdling straight towards the ground. What I hadn’t expected was for him to turn so suddenly causing me to get all the impact. The pain was excruciating as I tried to lift myself up. He grabbed a knife and hurdled it straight towards my face and I made no attempt to move as it inched towards my head.

I closed my eyes and waited for the pain to come but it never did. I opened my eyes and the knife was lodged in Nico’s shoulders. I let out an ear piercing scream as he was quickly loosing blood. I pulled out the knife and tried to stop the bleeding but nothing was happening. We looked at each other and his face went pale as I felt someone behind me.

I turned around and the monster was holding a sword to the tip of my chin. I looked at his cold eyes which held nothing more but a lifeless, power hungry demon. I heard a gunshot and turned to my right to see Justin standing up shooting at the monster and angry the monster lounged towards him with the sword. You could hear the blade pierce through his shoulder and he went down.

I covered my mouth screaming and there was an eerie silence in the air. The monster stood up and pulled the blade out of Justin’s shoulder and walked towards me. This was it. No one was awake and could save me now and I was too tired and drained to do anything. He put the cool blade on my arm and cut my arm deep with me hissing in pain. He smiled and lifted the blade to my neck before getting ready to end me.

Evianna’s POV

I watched as he cut Kathalina’s arm and got ready to kill her. I felt like a chain had broke and I felt released. I let out the most ear piercing scream in my life and he dropped the sword and grabbed his ears. I walked towards him and felt so much anger. Anger for trapping me, for hurting everyone I love, and most of all anger for trying to keep me concealed from the truth.

I lifted my arm towards the demon that caused all this pain and suffering. I hand glowed bright before shooting a powerful ray of light from my hand. I could see his back sizzle and both my arms were rays of light. The only thing that the darkness hated was light and I had found plenty of that.

His cloak fell off as I burned him more with light and he was glowing red and yelling in pure agony. I let my wings extend and lifted my hands up and a sword forged from stars glowed brightly in my hand. The demon cowered down in fear and all it took was one swipe. One swipe to kill him but I couldn’t. I gripped the sword tighter and he smiled.

‘You can’t even kill me can you, you’re weak,’ he hissed as I lowered my blade.

‘You will never be strong enough to do anything you insolent, weak, incompetent-‘that was all it took to hold back my understanding and such. With a clean strike I killed him and he turned to ash. As soon as I did that there was screaming from a distance and a bright strand of light emitted from the sky making everything become quiet and the tension in the air had lifted.

The Demogorgon was finally and truthfully no more.

I ran to my sister and she looked weak.

‘Kathalina?’ I whispered as she touched my arm.

‘Evianna, you’re glowing so brightly, you’re prettier than any star in the night sky,’ she said as I looked down at my arms which had golden scriptures written all over me. I looked back at Kathalina and a golden scripture crawled down my arm on to her skin and she began to glow too. Her wings wrapped around her and light emitted from all around her making me take a step back before it was gone and she stood before me looking as lively as ever.

‘You healed me!’ she yelled wrapping her arms around me before letting go and running to Nico. I looked around and Lucy was holding her head and getting up and Jake was doing the same. I looked all around until I saw a puddle of blood with a crumpled body. I rushed towards Justin and his breathing was shallow. I felt tears go down my cheek and began to shake.

‘Do you wish to save him?’ A light voice whispered. I looked around and there was no one next to me.

‘I would do anything,’ I said holding his hand tightly.

‘Will you now…?’ the voice whispered back.

‘How can I save him?’ I replied back.

‘You give him your life.’ I will do whatever it takes.

Leah’s POV

I grabbed Nico’s hand and closed my eyes tight as my wings touched him. I focused my energy and it felt like instincts were taking over because the next thing I knew he was fully healed.

‘Are you okay?’ I asked helping him up.

‘All good, just a bit sore but I’ll live.’ He said and I wrapped my arms around him and pulled him into a deep kiss. We pulled apart and I stared into his eyes that showed love. I knew he was really the one for me. We broke eye contact when we heard coughing and when I turned around Evianna was on her knees staring at Justin but it was hard to see what was going on because on all the light that was glowing from him.

When the light stopped Evianna fell onto Justin and I didn’t know what was going on so I ran to her.

‘Evianna?’ I asked pulling her off of Justin who was now waking up. She looked lifeless and I shook her trying to wake her.

‘What happened?’ Justin asked and then it hit like a ton of bricks. Lucy had told me a long while ago one of them would not survive in order to protect me. The one who died was Justin but how is he still alive? I stared down at Evianna and I gasped. Evianna had given her own life to keep him alive.

‘Evianna sacrificed herself so you could live,’ I said beginning to cry. I felt Nico wrap his arms around me trying to comfort me but it wasn’t working. I had lost my only sister. I heard thunder above and a Man about 50 feet stood in front of me.

‘So we finally meet, Black Angel.’ He said and by the electric blue eyes, cloudy grey hair and the thunderbolts all over his armor which kind of gave it away, I knew who it was.

‘Zeus now is not the time.’ I said though clenched teeth.

‘You are too powerful for your own good; you must be put in the prison of Olympus.’ He said all macho like.

‘Oh jeeze.’ I said standing up and spreading my hand. I waved it his way and he was in human form. He looked stunned as I walked over to him.

‘Listen up Mr. Zeus,’ I said getting all up in his face. 

‘Do not harass me or anyone I know. Stop keeping tabs on me and following me because that’s making you look like a stalker and a pedophile. I am not trying to make you lose power or will help anyone with containing any power. If you feel threatened, hold your tongue and count some cows. I am not trying to take over anything and I’m snappy because I just fought with a Demogorgon, suffered really bad damage, healed my boyfriend and just lost my sister so shut up and go back to Olympus and if you do anything to me or anyone I love I can guarantee I will hunt you down and kill you or torture you to death. Got it!?’ I yelled and he honestly looked scared.

‘GOT IT!?’ I yelled louder and he jumped and nodded his head.

‘Got it,’ he said really quickly and with a flash of light he was gone. I walked to my sister’s body and began to cry. This time no one tried to comfort me and with that the war was over.

EPILOUGE

3 years later

Nico looked antsy as we walked to my house on the other realm where I was born. To be honest I was scared too. This would be the first time I’ve seen my parents since I was pushed down the portal. I had gotten a letter saying to come back home for a visit from my parents and I was shocked.

We walked up to the huge doors and knocked. The door opened slowly as my heart was pounding fast. The door opened and I stared in shock as to who opened the door. I lounged and hugged her tight.

‘EVIANNA YOUR ALIVE!?!?!’ I screamed as we both fell to the floor.

‘Yes?’ she said as I looked at her to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks.

‘How are you alive?’ I asked remembering clearly the day she had died.

‘Well my body is dead but my spirit form is still alive.’ She said gesturing to herself making me raise my eyebrows. She rolled her eyes and laughed.

‘My human form died and I am an angel so I didn’t quite die.’ She said and I didn’t care that I didn’t understand what she was saying but I only cared that she was alive.

‘Well, what do we have here?’ Justin said walking towards us. I tackled him in a hug and he laughed hugging me back.

‘Where’s my daughter?’ a familiar voice asked and I froze.

‘Mama?’ I asked in a small voice. A beautiful slightly pale woman wearing a silk white dress and her long blonde hair flowed past her waist. She ran and hugged me tightly.

‘Kathalina! It’s really you!’ she cried hugging me. I let go of the breath I was holding in and hugged her back. She pulled apart and smiled at me.

‘Kathalina?’ another voice asked and within a second he was in front of me and I grinned.

‘Papa!’ I yelled giving him a hug.

‘Look at my little girl! So grown and getting married!’ he cried and I froze still. What?

‘Oops,’ he said looking guilty. I turned towards Nico and he was on one knee. Oh my cheeznit.

‘Nico…’ I said looking at him shocked.

‘Leah, have been in love with you since the first minute I laid eyes upon you.’ He started and my sister giggled making Nico roll his eyes.

‘I promise to love you forever and never leave your side. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thinking of being without you would truly break my heart I would die to protect you. Kathalina Leah Ashwood Willow,’ he said stating both names from earth and my actual name which I thought he didn’t know.

‘Will you please marry me?’ he said and I was silent. I can’t believe this was happening.

‘Yes, I will most definitely marry you!’ I yelled and hugged him super tight. I kissed him and felt the sparks run through my body.

‘Finally! I thought you would never answer!’ Lucy’s familiar voice yelled out. I looked up and her and Jakes hands were intertwined. After the war Jake and Leah got together.

‘Well it looks like we’re both engaged Leah!’ Evianna yelled hugging me.

‘Justin proposed to you?’ I asked shocked. She smiled and nodded her head.

‘As soon as he found out I was still alive. I told him to wait for me to gain my strength back and I wanted you to be at the wedding which was one of the reasons you were supposed to come today.’ She said and I hugged her.

‘Dinner’s ready!’ Zack said coming out of the kitchen as I looked at him shocked.

‘Congrats on your engagement.’ He said hugging me.

‘What are you doing here?’ I asked hugging him back.

‘I was invited by your parents,’ he said and I shook my head smiling. We all walked to the dinner room and Nico grabbed my hand. I sighed in content. This was my life and there is still much to come.
