Our House

I am fixing dinner Baked Ravioli if you are curious. I am chopping onions for.the salad when Colby walks in from the garage. Beans and our new dog Chance (a pug) greet him as he walked in.
"Hey Hun," I said.
"Can we talk?" he asks.
"Sure," I said wiping my hands on a towel "What is it!"
He takes my hand and leads me to our back patio.
He sits in one of our lounge chairs and pulls me next to him. He wraps me in his arms as I lay on my side and wrap an arm around his waist.
"Babe I am just going to come out and say this. They have hired an actress to play Abigail," he said.
"I know you said they were going to," I said.
"But the thing is I know this actress well," he said "I sorta know every inch if her well."
I sat up "What do you mean?"
"Babe they hired Andreà!"
" Andreà the one you were with just prior to us meeting? "
He nods and pulls me back to him wrapping his arms around me "I don't like it but I have to go with it."
I nod "I understand."

Our House

"Thank you Babe," I said.
"Besides Hun," said Bex "What you and I got here is true love."
She tilted her head to look at me. I smile before connecting our lips.
"I love you Babe," I said against her lips.
"I love you more," she said against my lips.
"Babe?"
Bex sat up and slid to the end of the lounge chair.
"Yeah?"
" Could you wait here for a few minutes? I have to go grab something, "I said.
" Sure I have some time before I uncover the Baked Ravioli, "she said petting Beans and Chance who had taken my place on the lounge chair.
I run to our bedroom. Yes we share a bed and yes we have shared other things too.
I go to the safe and quickly turned the dial. I pull out a ribbon wrapped Robin's egg blue box from it.
This was it this was the moment that the promise ring was about to be exchanged.
I go back downstairs and see her playing with our dogs. God I love that woman so very much. So I knew this was who I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
She is facing the backyard. I know what she was doing too figuring out how to set up the tent for Ashley's baby shower.
I got down on one knee and open the box. I clear my throat. When she turns she sees me and then the ring. Her mouth drops.
" Colby?! "
"Rebecca from the moment we met I knew that you were the one for me. There hasn't been a day that has gone by that you're not the first thought I have when I wake up and the last thought I have when I go to sleep. You are my sunshine after the rain. You are my one my true love. I would be so very happy if you would do me the honor and become my wife. Rebecca will you marry me?"
Bex stood there speechless all she could do was stand there.
Finally after what seemed like hours but in fact was only a minute she answered me "Yes I will. Take your hand and walk with you."
" Yes? "
She nods happily as tears stream down her face and as I removed the promise ring and place her engagement ring on her left hand.

I stood up and pulled her into a hug before our lips crashed together.

Outside our house

"We're engaged!!!!!" I yelled crashing our lips together once more.
"I can't wait for you to be Mrs. Lopez," smiled Colby.
"And I can't wait to be Mrs. Colby Lopez," I said "As much as I want to continue the celebration I have the salad to finish and a Baked Ravioli to uncover. Trinity,Ashley, Adam, Kenny and Ani will be here at six."
I kissed him.
"Can I help with the salad?"
"Sure I can always use help chopping onions," I smile.
Colby took my hand and we entered the house followed by Beans and Chance.

Two Hours later.....

I am desperately trying to hide the engagement ring but Trin has an eagle eye when it comes to shiny and sparkly things.
Trinity spotted it as I opened the door.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" she screamed and nearly knocked me over running into the house and hugging me "Bex you're engaged!!!"
I laughed "Hello to you too Trin," I said.
"Oh yeah Hi," she said taking my left hand and turning it to the right and to the left "You did a good job Colby."
Ashley was a bit more subtle in her excitement she wanted to jump and down but well at seven and half months pregnant she could barely climb our front steps little lone jump up and down.
To say dinner was an excellent one was an understatement.
Of course after dinner I asked Trinity and Ashley to be my maids (or in Ashley 's case matron) of honors. I also asked Ani and Kenny to be my junior bridesmaids.
