Peter's POV

Things have been going great for my internship! Mr. Stark and all of the others have been so kind to me. We've been working on his suits and looking over a few inventions made by the engineers at Stark Industries.

Autumn starts next month and I am excited, but also kind of nervous to meet her. Hopefully, she's just as kind as she was when I first saw her.

May hasn't changed too much. She's been drinking more, and it's odd because when she is drunk, she's nicer. That's not usually the outcome you'd expect, but I'm not complaining. Her boyfriend has been taking care of her, making sure she takes her medication, and he drives her to the hospital where she works too! He's been so sweet to us. He makes breakfast for us, and May is starting to let me sit and eat with them!

Sober May is getting better, little by little. I mean, it's still not good, but it's progress. Her paycheck was a little larger this week, so she got to go on a real dinner date with Steven on Sunday.

(The timeline and like months and stuff is messed up, so bear with me and just go along with it even if it doesn't make sense.)

It's the middle of October, and leaves are falling as I make my way to the carline where Happy is waiting for me.

"Hey Happy!" I exclaimed as I slid into the backseat very smoothly.

"Hey, kid" he replied in a monotone voice. "How was school?"

"Oh, it was ok. MJ told our Lit teacher off today because she only asked the guys to carry stuff in from her car. I mean, MJ was right though. She's probably stronger than most of the guys in our grade. Sadly, she got detention, but it's not like she wasn't going to be there anyway.

"In Spanish, we're making piñatas, and my group is making a Spider-Man one! Isn't that cool? I'm kind of a big fan of his, so I helped MJ with the design. And get this! We're going to fill it up with KRABBY PATTY GUMMIES! It has nothing to do with Spider-Man, but I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

"And remember that algebra test I told you about? Nailed it! For lunch, they had these nasty cookies that were so overcooked, a dude got a black eye when he got hit in the face with one. Hopefully, he's okay. I mean, I think so because he laughed when he got hit, but it still probably hurt a lot..." I kept going on and on about my day. Happy seemed to be interested in what I had to say, which was very nice considering he's usually pretty grumpy. But today, he kept nodding in acknowledgement as I talked.

When we got to Stark Tower, I immediately thanked Happy as I jumped out of the car, excited to greet Mr. Stark.

3rd POV

Happy quickly parked and got inside before Peter could get into the elevator. Panting, Happy remembered to give the important heads up that Tony had instructed him to give.

"Kid, you gotta stop doing that to me. I'm not as young as I used to be." Peter chuckled at that.

"Anyways, Tony told me to tell you that we have some... visitors, and he said to try not to freak out, but also be careful. He's not exactly on the best terms with them," he said once he caught his breath. Peter gave him a thoughtful nod.

"Okay. I'm sure they're not too bad, but if Mr. Stark wants me to be careful, I will," Peter smiled. Happy told FRIDAY to bring them up to the penthouse, and the elevator immediately started to move.

"Okay, so I found this hilarious meme and I gotta show you it. You know how stonks... you know what stonks is, right? Whatever. I'll educate you, I promise. Anyways, there are many different... uh... levels of stonks. There's stonks, there's mega stonks, there's ultra stonks, there's plus-ultra stonks, etc etc..." he kept on rambling as FRIDAY took them up to the penthouse. Happy kept a straight face as Peter talked, as well as nodding every now and then.

FRIDAY opened the elevator doors that led straight to the living room where Tony was doing random research. Happy walked to the kitchen and Peter followed, still babbling.

Tony gave a confused look to Happy, knowing full well that he would never listen to someone talk like that because he'd get annoyed too quickly. Happy gave him a smug smirk and tapped the Starkpod in his ear as he passed by. Tony nodded in realization, but Peter was still oblivious and was now ranting about how he wished Lego sets could be more intricate and detailed.

"If there was a way that we could build more things on the inside of... let's say... the Death Star. If that had more detail on the inside as well as the outside, it would be so amazing because I would have a great challenge, but I guess I already do super cool stuff like that with Mr. Stark. Have you seen the progress we've made?! Oh, it's so cool! We have yet to test it, but Mr. Stark said- MR STARK! HI! When'd you get in here?" Peter has finally noticed the other people in the room.

"Been here a while, kid" he chuckled. Peter just gave a small shrug and ran over to his mentor while Happy went to grab a snack.

"What are we gonna do today, Mr. Stark?"

"Well, kid, I think you're ready for more of a challenge, like you said." Peter's eyes brightened when he said that.

"Which is why I am going to let you take the suit for a test drive. I trust that you will do a good job," he remarked. Peter had wide eyes and his jaw was dropped to the floor. Literally. He took a step and tripped, falling flat on his face.

"Woah, are you okay, kid? That must've hurt." Tony tried to help him up, but Peter just laid there, planking in silence until he jumped to his feet with an excited expression on his face.

"Thank you so much! I'm so excited! This isn't at all nerve racking... it's not like if I mess up, we'd have to rebuild the entire thing and I'd lose your trust and-"

"Kid, you're gonna do great." Tony gave him a reassuring smile. Peter let out a breath that he seemed to have been holding onto when he was overthinking. He took a deep breath and gave a small "ok."

"After dinner, we'll start testing in a bigger testing room so you have room to fly. Remember to stay in the testing room, though. It's too dangerous to be somewhere else without more experience."

"If only he knew," Peter thought. He nodded anyways and gave Tony his word.

"Of course. Okay, I think I'm gonna go start working."

"Okay, I'll be there soon. Stay in the lab." Peter nodded, not questioning his order and ran to the lab.

Once Peter got there, he checked to make sure no one was around and he pulled out his own suit and started to tinker with it. Peter's Spidey-Sense hadn't gone off, so he figured he could try working on it a little.

He dimmed the window glass, so no one could look in. He also locked the doors and asked FRIDAY to show Mr. Stark a different video of him working, so he won't see his suit. FRIDAY was reluctant at first, but when understood the importance of his request. If Mr. Stark tried to get in, Peter would hear him, so he'd have enough to time to hide all evidence. He tried his suit on and tested out the webbing. He had been working on getting a more flexible web design. By the looks of it, it was all coming together quite nicely. He took off the mask to think clearly about what he could improve.

Suddenly, he heard a gasp and he froze.

"Who are you?"
