~February 25th; 4 Days Overdue~

Katniss's P.O.V.

"Uhhhgg! Come on you guys, I need you guys out of me!" I groan quietly, and try to get comfy again from waking up.

"What's up, Kat?" I hear Peeta say groggily. He rolls over and nuzzles his head into my neck and wraps his arms around my very protruding stomach. "Can't sleep?"

"No." I sigh. "I'm so done. I can't sleep, eat, move, fit into anything, hormonal, tired, fat-"

"Whoa, you're still beautiful to me, Kitty-Kat." He says and kisses down my neck.

"Am not. I'm like, up ten sizes in everything. I can't see my feet. I can't even move." I scoff.

"Still beautiful to me." He says, and kisses my cheek.

"That's cause you are the only person on the earth allowed to see me that way." I say.

He laughs into the back of my neck. It raises the hairs and causes me to laugh too.

"You're so beautiful, Katniss. Even if you are, all the things you said you were. Your words, not mine, by the way. They'll come soon. Don't worry. We'll soon have our sweet angels in our family. All the elephants will be happily walking along with us." He says.

He starts to trace my tattoo on my back. Then he kisses down my back. I sigh happily at the feeling. I hear his alarm clock start to go off. He sighs and kisses my cheek.

"Sorry, Kit-Kat. I'm almost on break." He says and sits up.

"It's fine, Peeta. You need this. You do want to start that Bakery still, don't you?" I say and roll over.

"Yeah.. I just.. Wish I wasn't leaving you guys. Especially right now, with them almost coming." He sighs and rubs my stomach.

"You need this. Since I'm a Mom, I can't make our dream the way we want to." I say.

"You guys are the dream. And it's perfect." He says and smiles. "I'll see you later, K?"

"See you later." I say and smile back.

"Don't go into labor while I'm away like last time, K?" He says and kisses me.

"Wasn't my fault the last time. But I'll try." I say and smile a little.

"Get some sleep." He says.

"Bye." I say.

He leaves and I try to go back to sleep. I am woken up by a phone call around 9. I groan and answer my phone.

"Hello?"

"Morning Little Miss Sunshine."

"Uhg, Danny.. What the hell do you want?"

"Well, one thing, to open the door."

"What?"

"The front door. Open it."

"Key's under the mat."

I hang up the phone and curl back up into bed. It's only then when I feel comfortable, the door opens with a bang.

"Wake up, Lazy Bones!" I hear Jordon say.

I groan and put Peeta's pillow over my face. "Get. Out." I say.

"Come on Sunshine. This day isn't going to get longer with you sleeping it away." Danny says, and opens the blinds and pulls the pillow off of me.

I move it back over my face.

"Come on, Katniss. This cutie pie misses her mother." Dylan says.

"Mama!" I hear Ruby say and clap.

I groan and sit up the best I can. All of HU has a smile on their face. But I do not.

"Fine, get out." I say and sigh.

They leave with a sly grin on their faces. I sigh and stand up slowly and steadily. I slowly trudge to my dresser and get something decent to wear. I put my hair in a messy bun and then leave my room. I trudge down the stairs and am met by Danny and George. I brush past them both and give all of them glares. I go to the kitchen and put on coffee.

"You all do realize I'm overdue with twins and am tired as shit right?" I say frustrated and sigh.

"Yess, buttt, they aren't coming right now, are they?" Danny asks with a sly smile.

"I can damn well make them." I snap.

They all lay off me. At least until I have my coffee. I feed Ruby her breakfast, and they all keep their mouths shut.

"What did you guys want?" I sigh.

"Glad you asked, Kat. How about you, take a seat. Put up those feet, and we'll take care of you all day. And everything else too, including this Cutie." Dylan says and takes her food from me.

"Dylaa!" Ruby exclaims.

"See, we got this. Even she trusts us. So go to the couch, and lay down. We will wait on your hand and foot." Danny says.

I groan. "Fine." I say.

"Good, now follow us please." George says with a sly smile and motions for my hand.

I sigh and take it. He leads me to the living room. He sits me down and makes me comfy.

"You guys are lucky I'm full of hormones and two humans. Otherwise I will be kicking your asses for waking me up at 9 in the morning." I say and take a sip of my coffee.

"Oh come on. Son't be a sour puss, Kitty. You know you love us." Danny says with a grin.

"Not right now, I don't. Maybe when these two are out of me, I will. But until then, leave me alone." I snap.

"How does breakfast sound for this Lioness?" Jorel says.

"I don't want any. I want to be in bed. Which I am going to and you are leaving my house." I say, and move the blanket off of my lap and try to get up.

"Whoaa, easy there, Queen of the Jungle. Don't you trust us?" Dylan asks and walks with Ruby over to me.

"I do. But you guys are making me angry. Not just because of these damn hormones neither." I say and set Ruby on my lap.

She pats my stomach and giggles each time Joise and Charlie moves.

"Babee!" She says and claps her hand.

"Fine...." I saigh. "You guys can stay. But you better not keep me waiting."

"Knew you'd come around, Kat." Danny says with a smile.

"Hurry with my food. They steal all of it, and coffee doesn't give me much." I say.

"Coming right up!" Jorel says.

"You guys go do something, I don't know. Find something I guess." I say.

"As you wish." The rest of them say, with sly smirks.

Ruby lays on my stomach and I run through her dark curls. She taps at my stomach, sometimes getting a movement from the twins. She pushes back at them and laughs when they do too. I sigh contently and listen to her laughs. It will be nice to hear more little laughs in this house. And even more nice to have my body back, or at least be able to breathe and eat and move. I know that I will not look the same as I did. I didn't with Ruby all the way. But with twice as many occupants, I know I will not look remotely the same. Out of nowhere I get a pressure growing in me. It isn't from Ruby. I get it again, and It goes all the way up my spine. I inhale sharpy and wince, holding my stomach. Ruby looks up at me and has a worried look on her face. She pats my stomach.

"Babee?" She asks.

"It's fine, Sweetie. They're just moving." I say.

That's when I get a very strong pain in the pit of my stomach. I feel like I am being squeezed and cut. I groan and hold myself tightly. I remember that feeling all too well. How can you forget a contraction? I feel another one, and almost scream. I hold my breath, and try not to make any of HU worry. I try to breathe and keep calm. But I lose it when my water breaks.

'Oh God..' I think.

"Dylan, Danny, GUUUYYYSSS!!!! AHH!! JOREL!!!" I yell out in pain.

They all come barling in from wherever they were at and come to me. Looking scared as hell.

"Hey, what's wrong?!" Dylan asks.

"I have to go... now... they're, GAHH!! Take me to the hospital!!" I cry out.

"Shit, wait are you in labor, Kat?" Danny asks.

"No, I just have two kids making their way out of me with no pain at all." I snap. "Yes!! I am! Now help me before I give birth right here!"

At that they lose it. They try not to freak out but are anyways. I feel bad for Reese and Randi. I keep calm surprisingly. I am the one with the contractions and children coming out of me slowly and painfully. I manage to get my hospital bag, Ruby's diaper bag, and myself in more comfortable clothes, all while they nearly give themselves heart attacks and burn my house down. I put Ruby in her carrier and then waited for them to realize I did everything. They don't for a few minutes. So I give them the go.

"Can we go before I have a car baby, please?" I say.

At that, they finally get their heads together and get me to the hospital. Breaking nearly every traffic protocol, and almost causing accidents and me to give birth. They don't waste any time getting me inside. Almost drove my car into the lobby. They practically give all the nurses a heart attack with them barking to get me help. I got in a room and prepared to give birth. My OB makes them leave, with much of a dispute and threats to call security.

"So, Katniss." Dr. Michelle says when she finally gets HU out. "You're going to be a Mom, again. Are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be, I guess." I say and laugh a little. "Sorry about them. Crazy family."

"Totally okay. I understand." She says with a smile. "So, has Peeta been notified about the whole thing?"

"Probably by them. They never hesitate to let anyone know when something is wrong with me." I say.

"Good. I'm going to take a look to see how much longer we have until you're a Mom again."

She pokes and prods around the area. It feels uncomfortable and I hold tight to the sheets until she is done.

'Five centimetres! Just 5 more and you'll be able to have your body back and two new additions to the family.' Dr Michelle smiles at me, 'shall I invite your friends?'

I nod and she calls HU back into the room. They're grumbling to one another as they take a seat around my bed.

'Have you told Peeta yet?' I ask Danny.

'Y-Yeah, of course I have.' He scoffs, 'that's the first thing I did.'

I can feel a contraction come on. I groan and grip the sheets.

'Do you want me to get the Doctor to get you something for the pain, Kat?' Dylan asks.

All I can do is nod. They are getting worse, and more intense to the point where i can't even talk much. He leaves with George and Jordon. Danny holds my hand.

'Hang on, Katniss. It'll be over soon, okay?' Jorel says.

'I am..' I say.

A few minutes later, Dylan and George come back with a nurse.

'Can you lay on your side for me, Katniss?' The nurse asks.

'Yes.' I say, and so what she says.

'I'll need you to arch your back and keep still for me. I don't want to hit a nerve. You'll feel some pressure, but it shouldn't hurt too bad.' She says.

'Okay.' I say.

I use both of my hands and hold onto Danny's. It doesn't hurt really, but does a little bit. More uncomfortable but still pain is there.

'Okay, it's all done. Should be kicking in soon.' She says.

'Thank you.' I say.

Peeta's P.O.V.

I drive to school and instantly want to go back to bed with Katniss. I miss her already, and it has literally only been half an hour away from being apart from one another. My professors are giving me a break in a few days. Or sooner if the twins come. I just have to balance a bit of school while being a new Dad. And they understand if I can't do much. I feel bad for Katniss that I can't be there. I hate to see her so distraught. I know she is done, but I can't do a whole lot. And I wish I could. I start to do the day's cooking lab, when my phone starts to ring. I see it is Danny. I slid to decline it and put my phone on vibrate. He keeps calling over and over. I sigh and turn off the stove and take the pan off of the stove. I take off my apron and step out into the hall. I answer it next time he calls.

'Hey, I can't talk. I'm in class.'

'Not anymore. Katniss is going into labor.'

'Wait what?! Are you serious? Shit, tell her I'm coming now!'

'Better make it in time. Hate for you to miss them. I'll tell her, just hurry.'

'I will. On my way now.'

I go back into my class and get my bag and everything else. I race down the halls and to the parking lot. I speed to get to the hospital. Almost getting pulled over, but I don' t care. I am not, I repeat not, missing my other children's birth. I make my way to the main desk of the hospital in a frantic hurry to get to Katniss before the twins are born.

'I'm looking for Katniss Mellark.' I say urgently, 'do you know what room she's in'

'Next floor up. Labor and Delivery Ward. Room 203.' The nurse says.

'Thanks.' I say.

I go to the elevator and press the second floor button. My heart is racing a million miles per minute and I can't keep myself from shaking. I'm going to be a Dad in a matter of hours again. This time I am going to be there. I can't wait to be a Dad again and be there for Katniss this time. Finally, she's going to be able to be happy again. The elevator dings and I go out and look for the room. I could never unhear Katniss in pain. I race to the room where her cries are coming from. I hurry in the room. I go by her side and push everyone who isn't me.

'I told you not to without me.' I say with a smile and kiss her forehead.

'Told you I couldn't make that promise.' She says weakly with a small smile.

'Anywhere yet?' I ask her.

'Are their two children crying and in our arms?'

'Sorry... bad question.' I say.

'Been stuck at 7. Not getting much but....uhhhh!...pain.' She said and squeezed my hand.

'Breathe, Kat. I'm here.' I say.

'I think the pain meds wore off, now...' She sighs.

'You can do this. It'll be okay.' I say and kiss her.

She sighs and nods a little. She nestles down into the bed on her side.

'Are you tired?' I ask.

'I mea, it is only noon. But, yeah.. And hungry. And thirsty.' She says.

'Want me to get you something?' I ask.

'I can't eat.. Only drink. Can I get ice chips?' She asks.

'Sure, Kit-Kat. Where' s Ruby, and everyone else?' I ask.

'They went for a walk. Took Ruby with them. Kinda..snapped a bit.' She says with a small smile.

'I'll go find them and get you that ice. Don' t have them while I'm away.' I say and kiss her.

She smiles a little and nods.

'Take a nap, Katniss. You' ll need all the strength you can get. Have more this time.' I say and tuck her hair behind her ears.

'Okay... I'll try.' She says quietly.

I kiss her head and then leave. I head towards the cafeteria. I find HU and Ruby in there and get some things for them and Ruby. I go and join them.

'And look who made it this time?' Danny says with a cencer smile.

'Yep. Not going anywhere either.' I say and sit down.

'Anything new yet?' Dylan asks.

'Not much. Still at 7.' I say.

'That is a bit.' George says.

'Before she left, she was at 6.' Jordon says.

'Damn...' I sigh. 'Her pain meds are wearing off, don't know if you guys want to come back.'

'She's nothing. Reese wasn't too terribly nice with her delivery. I can handle her.' Danny says with a smirk.

'If you guys say so.' I say and smile a little. 'Probably get her ice and go back.'

Ruby gets off of Dylan's lap and waddles over to me. I pick her up and brush her mother's hair out of her face and kiss her head.

'Momma?' She asks and puts her thumb in her mouth and looks up at me.

'We' re going to see her, Rubs. You're going to be a sister soon.' I say.

'Excuse me, are you Mr. Mellark?' Some nurse says and comes over to us.

'I am.' I say.

'I'm working with your wife and her team. Nurse Carol. I can take your daughter off your hands during this. Bring her to the both of you when you're new arrivals are her.' She says. 'This whole thing can be confusing and a bit scary. The hospital takes this into consideration and has a nursery for kids.'

'Sure. Thank you.' I say.

She takes Ruby from my arms. She waves her hand at me.

'See you soon, Rubs.' I say and kiss her again.

She leaves with Ruby. I can' t help but feel more anxious.

'Come on, Peeta. She' ll be fine. Katniss needs you.' Danny says and places his hand on my shoulder.

'Yeah, you guys are right..' I say and sigh.

'Come on. You're going to be a Dad again. Let's not keep Katniss waiting.' Jorel says.

'No, I don't.' I think.

'Come on. May seem scary to see her like this, but she' s strong. We all know it. We' ve seen it. She can do this too. And we' ll be there.' Dyan says.

I nod and sigh.

'Better not miss it this time. Let's go.' George says with a smile.

Katniss's P.O.V.

Peeta leaves and I am left alone. Well not completely alone. I feel them moving less, but still some. I lay on my side and try to sleep. I rub my stomach and try to breathe when I get a contraction. I am ready for this to be over. And to not have any more children. This whole thing is wonderful and all, but we' re going to have to adopt. I' m not putting my body through this anymore. The pain, discomfort, exhaustion, any of it. No matter how much Peeta is going to beg when the twins are older, I am not letting him touch me. I love him, but I am done. I' ve had enough of caring and growing humans in my body. I do love what has come out of this, but I will not put myself in this again. I keep getting more contractions and they are more painful. My epidural is starting to wear off, little by little. And I can feel more. A nurse who has been in and out of here with Dr. Michelle comes in.

'Hi, Mrs. Mellark. How are you doing?' She asks.

'Could be better.' I groan and squeeze my sheets as a contraction hits me. 'My epidural is wearing off.'

'I can get you something more to help with the pain, some more.' She says.

'Thank you.' I say, grateful.

'Of course. I can also check your progression as well. Let' s hope things are moving along.' She says.

I nod. I sit up and move to where she can check.

'I'll have to hurry with that pain med. You're at 10 centimeters! Congrats! I' ll be right back.' She says.

'Wait, have you seen my family?! I can' t do this without them!' I say growing panicked.

'I will have some nurses find them. In the meantime, get ready. You're going to be a Mommy soon.' She says with a smile.

I nod and start to emotionally, mentallly and physically prepare myself for what is to come. But I am not. I have to get more than one baby out of me. I try to just breathe and pray that Peeta didn' t leave. Not even a minute later, the nurse is back with more medication.

'I' ve notified Dr. Michelle, she's scrubbing in. Shouldn' t be too long.' She says.

She injects something into my I.V. It swirls in my veins and I get some relief. The doors open and Peeta and HU are at the door.

'Just in time. Things are about to start.' The nurse says with a smile, and leaves.

At that, Peeta rushes to my side.

'Told you to wait, Katniss. You never learn do you?' He says and smiles.

'Sorry. I guess this time I will.' I say.

Dr. Michelle comes into the room ready with a team. 'So we're ready then?' She says, with a smile and gets situated at the end of my bed.

'I am so ready.' I say.

'Alrighty then. If you feel any pressure, just give it your all, okay Katniss? I know the epidural may not let you feel much, but just give it a shot, alright?' Dr. Michelle says.

I nod and take deep breaths. Peeta wraps both of his hands around mine. I see HU staying back, and looking like they want to leave.

'You can stay, you know. I'll bite, but don't leave. Please.' I say to them.

'We're not going to leave our girl. Not now, or ever.' Danny says.

'Alright, Katniss. They're ready when you are.' Dr. Michelle says with a smile.

'I'm ready.' I say.

~ Few Hours Later ~

'I CAN'T DO THIS!!!' I scream out in agony.

Josie has been taking her sweet time and isn't getting much closer. All I am getting is more and more pain and exhaustion. I am so tired, and I don' t think I can get two children out of me. I' ve been at it for 10 hours. She isn' t coming anymore closer than she was. And I have to get Charlie out too. And that's a whole other labor, water breaking, and contractions. My pain has been worse, and not even the meds are helping now. I start to hyperventilate and I feel sick to my stomach.

'I-I can't breathe!! I can' t breathe!' I cry out. 'I'm going to be sick..'

'Katniss, Honey. Breathe. Breathe. She's almost crowning. Just a little bit more, then it' s almost done and over with.' Dr. Michelle says, encouragingly.

'I can't! I can't anymore!' I cry and throw my head back. The sick feeling comes and I can't make it subside. I start to feel light headed and I can feel what I ate this morning up to see the light. I cover my mouth to try to keep it from coming out. Peeta hurriedly goes and gets the trash can before I vomit on myself.

'Katniss, when we get her out, we can get you into a C-Section. Just keep going, k Honey? She's almost here. Just a little bit more, then you're done.' Dr. Michelle tells me.

I try to breathe. I nod numbly as Peeta wipes my face. He kisses my temple drenched in sweat.

'Come on, Kit-Kat. I believe in you. You're so strong. Just a little bit longer. Give it your all for her. Then we can be done.' He says sweetly.

I look at him with my tired and pain stricken, grey eyes. His ocean blue eyes look at mine with love and happiness. They are glossed with tears of joy. I nod exhaustedly and force a smile.

'Good. Let's have another baby.' He says with a smile.

'Okay..' I say weakly.

'Here it comes, Katniss. It's her head, so it'll be big. Just bear down and give it your all, okay?' Dr. Michelle says.

I nod and try to breathe. I feel it starting to hit me with full force. I let out a grunt and then it turned into a scream of agony. I give it my best and try not to pass out or throw up again.

'Good, good. I'll clear her airway then at the next one, she'll be here, okay guys?' Dr. Michelle says.

'Told you that you can do it, Katniss. I love you.' Peeta says and kisses me.

'I love you too..' I say.

'Alright, Katniss. It' s time. Give it all you have, left, alright?' Dr. Michelle says.

I nod weakly. Peeta holds onto my hand with the both of his. I press my head onto his and take deep breaths. A whimper comes from my throat, but then turns into cries of pain. I can feel my body giving it all it can to get my daughter into the world. I feel a strike of heat run up me but I don' t care the pain it is bringing on top of this. I feel the heat intensify and then I only feel that. I throw my head back and try to breathe. I can feel my world being pulled away from me. I try to keep in it long enough to hear my daughter. I hear her cries as I fade from this world.

Peeta's P.O.V.

I look away and hear the small cries of my new daughter and see her. I gasp at the sight of her. She's a splitting image of me. She cries her lungs out and I can' t help but cry tears of joy. I look back at Katniss but turn pale.

'Kat? Oh my God! Katniss wake up!' I say.

Everything goes so fast now. Josie is rushed away, and Katniss is as well. She is losing a lot of blood and has lost all the color of her beautiful olive skin.

'What's going on?!' I panicked.

'She's teared majorly and your son is in distress. We have to operate immediately.' Dr. Michelle says.

'She'll be okay, right?' I ask, probably sounding stupid.

'We'll work to save the both of them, Peeta. I swear. You can see your daughter in a few minutes.' She tells me.

'Thank you. Please help them.' I beg.

'I will.' She says with a sincere smile.

She leaves and I stand dumbstruck in the hall.
