~ February 14th; Valentine's Day! - One Week Until Twins Are Born: February 21st Due Date ~

Katniss's P.O.V.

It's finally Valentine's Day and I have it all planned out for me and Peeta: first we spend the day with each other and then a candle lit dinner in the evening by the local lake.

'Morning, Rubes.' I say as I take her out of her crib, 'looks like we gotta give daddy his breakfast since it's Valentine's Day.'

She claps her hands happily as I take her downstairs to make breakfast. Peeta's already in the kitchen, clearly having the same idea as me to make breakfast for one another.

'We had the same idea, huh?' He chuckles as I sit down at the kitchen island and place Ruby in her highchair.

'If that idea was to make each other breakfast in bed, then yeah.' I grin as he passes me a cup of coffee. I take a sip, and that wakes me up.

Peeta makes us both a plate of chocolate chip pancakes drizzled in syrup and topped off with whipped cream and more chocolate chips sprinkled on the top. The remaining space on the plate is drizzled in chocolate sauce. We eat them slowly, savouring the sweet taste of the chocolate and syrup mixed with the whipped cream.

'Damn, they were good.' I say as I place my knife and fork on my now empty plate.

He stands up and takes the plates to the dishwasher as I go through my messages. There's one from Vanessa and another from Randi, telling me about the girl's day out they have planned for me.

Vanessa: We have so much planned for today!

Randi: So exciteeeed!

I can tell! So are you two gonna tell me what you got planned?

Vanessa: Nope. But we gotta make it shorter than intended; gotta shoot an episode for Hause of Horror later on.

Ok. Well, I'll see you later then!

I put my phone back on the counter in front of me as Ruby holds out her hands to ask me to pick her up.

'Uppy!' She squeals happily.

I pick her up, much to her delight.

'The girls are going to take me out, I guess.' I say to Peeta.

'Well, the guys are taking me out, too.' He says.

'I'll have her go with me. You guys tend to get a little crazy.' I say with a smirk.

I head upstairs and take her to get dressed for the day ahead. I've picked out a pink one-piece with a floral skirt matched with a bow made with the same floral pattern as the skirt.

'Looking gorgeous, sweetie!' I smile at her.

Ruby claps her hands as I leave her to play while I get dressed. I'm wearing a black and white crop top which is tied at the front and a brown skirt which covers my pregnant belly. I do my hair up in a bun and tie a silk gold sash around my bun. I go and get Ruby into her carrier, then head back downstairs. I give Peeta a kiss before I leave.

'Have fun, you four. And be safe.' He says and gives Ruby a kiss and gently rubs my stomach.

'I will. You guys stay out of trouble. I have a great night planned later. Just us.' I say.

A smile grows on his face. 'I will wait until your return.'

I smile back. 'I as well.' I say, then head off to my outing.

~ Time Skip; Valentine's Day Out ~

Vanessa's P.O.V.

We step into the salon where we are greeted by the workers who take us to different styling stations for our medi pedis and massages.

I eye a suspicious looking woman eyeing Katniss from behind the counter with an evil glint in her eye. Randi and Reese notice her as well. Katniss doesn't.

"Watch her." I tell them quietly.

They nod. I go with Katniss to get a medi pedi. I try to be semi relaxed, but not completely off my game. I don't want my attention to be anywhere but Katniss.

"So, thanks Vanessa. This is so nice. REALLY needed to be relaxed. Am due in a week." Katniss says.

"Course, Kat! But this isn't even the best part of today." I say.

"Really?" She asks.

"Ye-up! But we got a bit before it. So relax. Enjoy yourself." I say.

"I will." She says.

Reese comes and joins us. She sits next to me.

"When you girls are done here, Randi, Anna, Asia and I are getting massages. You'd benefit a lot, Kat, I bet." Reese says. "Anna is with Ruby getting her nails done, so it may be a minute or two."

"That sounds wonderful. I will definitely join you guys. What about you Vanessa?" Katniss says.

I see that shady lady looking at us and talking to someone else who looks just as shady. They give me a look with evil glowing in their eyes, then head behind the counter into a room.

"Vanessa?"

"Oh, um. Yeah sure." I say.

"Cool. Well see you two in there." Reese says and leaves.

"Something up, Vanessa? You seem.. on edge?" Katniss asks me.

"Nah. It's good. Just.. can't decide what to do next. Got a lot planned." I say, brushing the edgeness off me and replacing it with happiness.

"Oh, okay. Cool." She says.

She goes back to relaxing and getting herself treated. The shady women come back out. They look at Katniss, then me. I glare at them. They simply dismiss it and leave again.

Joerl's P.O.V.

"A toast, to our main man! May have put him through hell, but he's mad it out alive! And luckily in time to be a good Dad again. Congrats, Peeta." I say and ase my glass.

The crew does as well and cheers to the toast. Danny slugs him in the arm, along with Dylan.

"Keep the balls to stay this time, K? Wouldn't want a problem to come up again." Danny says with a smirk.

"I will. I'd lose them this time, to be honest if I pulled any shit again." He says.

"Good idea." Geoge says and pats him on the back.

"You've gotta be fucking with me! Come on! He was open!" Jordan yells at the flatscreen on the wall.

"Damn, the Stealers are not having a good season." Peeta says and tosses one back.

"Obviously." Danny says.

My phone vibrates and I pull it out. It's a text from Vanessa.

Babe, there's some shady bitches hanging around and eyeing Kat. Is someone doin the same with you guys?

I look around the bar. I don't see anyone being shady, until I see the bartender looking over at our table. He cleans the glasses and is looking at Peeta with an evil gleam in his eyes, and a bit of a smirk.

                                                                                                                      Yeah. There is someone. U guy okay?

Yeah, we are. Just hella on the lookout in case they wanna start something. Who the hell are these guys? Why do they want them?

                           Idk. It's weird as hell tho.... Stay close to Kat and Ruby. Leave if you can. See if they come with you.

You guys should too. Maybe we'll get something on these freaks.

You know I won't.. We getting her a tattoo, in a bit. Wat are u guys gonna do?

                                                                                       Not sure. We're just hanging at the sports bar on 27th.

Take him to get one too. Maybe one for them. Be hella cute for these two.

                                                                                                                         Fo sho. There's a parlor on 15th right?

Yeah. We hitting the one in the City Center. Meet up to take them home?

                               Yep. I have a feeling whoever these freaks are will be around us all day. Betta keep them in our protection.

"Hey guys, wanna head out? I got an idea for this one." I say, nodding to Peeta.

"Sure. This game is basically over." Danny says.

We all head out. On the way out, I glance back. The guy at the bar is gone. Some hella weird shit is happening. This isn't good.

Katniss's P.O.V.

"This won't hurt right?" I ask Vanessa.

"It kinda just feels like a shot over and over. Not that bad." She says.

"Okay.." I say, and try to swallow my anxiety.

"So, what's it gonna be today?" The tattoo artist asks me.

"We're going with these." Vanessa says and hands him her phone.

"Alright." He says and hands it back to Vanessa. He cleans his hands and puts on gloves. He wipes my back with sterile wipes. "This is going to take a while, so just relax. We'll move to your arm next for the other one. Shouldn't hurt that bad." He tells me.

"Okay.." I say and try not to sound scared.

It doesn't hurt as I expected it to. I never really thought I would ever get a tattoo. But I trust my friends' decision of what they said to do. It gets a little numb, and almost ticklish on my back. I try to stay still and not move to the uncomfortable feeling that is, getting a tattoo.

"Alrighty. Time for the next one." The artist says.

"That quick?" I ask, surprised.

"Yep. Now for the next one." He says.

"Here, I'll show you." Reese says.

She takes a picture. Then she shows it to me.

"Aww, guys..." I say.

There is a family of elephants and they are holding onto the tails of one another. They all have the names of my family. 

"Thanks, guys. I love it." I say.

"Knew you would." Vanessa says with a smile.

The tattoo on my forearm doesn't take that long either. It's an arrow. Right as it's done I get a text from Peeta.

The Crew got me this? Like it?

Oh really? I can't wait then. I made a cake before I left with the Crew.

"So, all ready now to go?" Vanessa says.

"Yeah. I am." I say.

"We'll teach ya how to take care of those. Not too bad." Reese says.

"Come on, you have a Valentine waiting." Anna says with a smile.

Peeta's P.O.V.

We all meet up back home but something seems off about the whole thing. The air is tense with suspicion as Vanessa and Jorel shoot each other questioning looks.

'You good, you two?' Jordan asks them.

'Yeah. Just... confused about something that went down earlier, that's all.' Jorel replies.

All of the sudden, something in the kitchen falls. All of us are here in the living room except for Katniss. Who was putting Ruby to bed. But she comes back downstairs.

'The hell was that?' Danny asks.

'I don't know.' I say. 'I'll go see...'

'What happened?' Kat asks me as she sits down.

'Sounded like something broke.' George says.

I get up and go into the kitchen. The cupboards are closed, yet there is a broken glass on the floor. The window is the only thing open, but there isn't even a breeze. I clean up the glass, then go back with everyone.

'I guess a glass broke or something.. I don't know, though...'I say.

Out of nowhere the lights shut off. But then turn on and flicker over and over.

'What the fuck is going on...?' Dylan asks.

The doors upstairs start to slam shut and open. All the pictures on the wall and on the tables are shaking. They slam down and break. The lightbulbs turn on bright and then explode. Everyone covers their heads and goes to the ground. The T.V. turns on and goes to static. Which grows increasingly louder. Arlo is barking his head off. He's running around and barking at the air and growling.

'Oh My God!!' Reese screams. 'Katniss!!'

I look and see the locket she wears all the time that I gave her is being pulled around her neck. She's clawing to get it off.

'Kat!' I yell.

I try to get it off of her, but for some reason it is hot. I pull my hand away and find a burn on my hand.

'What type of voodoo shit is this?!'Jorel yells.

We all try to get the necklace off of her and keep her from being choked. Despite the burns we get. There is a high pitched ringing that grows louder and louder, causing us all to cover our ears, and cry out in pain. I can feel my head spinning and my nose starts to bleed. Something glass shatters and then everything stops all the sudden. I still can't quite hear anything. My ears are ringing. I rub at them and find blood there. Katniss is trying to catch her breath. Her neck is all red and her eyes are bloodshot. Her nose is bleeding like the rest of us.

'What the fuck was that.....?' I sort of hear Dylan say.

'I don't know... But whatever it was is gone.' I say and take Katniss into my arms.

'Well we ain't going anywhere. Even if it comes back.' Danny says.

'You gotta be outta yo God-damn mind if you think we'll leave you in this house, after this shit.' Jordon says.

'Yeah. We're getting you guys outta here.' Reese says.

'Thanks, guys..' Katniss says quietly.

'And getting your house a fucking exsorsicum too. You can't bring those two home in this house.' Jorel says.

'Thanks guys...' I say.
