Gale’s P.O.V. 

It’s been almost a month since the break out. I have kept things low key. And try to be out of sight. Which so far, I have been. I still keep my distance and don’t go out a lot. I can’t see my family, or Katniss. Even though I want to. I want to apologize. Tell them I never meant to. Especially to Katniss. I hurt her so much. Did terrible things to her and ruined her life. She’ll always hurt from my actions towards her. And I feel terrible. I know she is probably afraid of me. And won’t accept my apology. But I just need to. Even if nothing will change. I am going around the city in 12, when I see Prim out with who I am assuming is her boyfriend. She has gifts from him and is really happy. Valentine’s Day is her favorite holiday, Katniss told me once. They walk down the street hand in hand. All of the sudden, a black suburban with tinted windows pulls up beside them. Guys in masks get out and force Prim into the car, hurting her in the process. They beat up her boyfriend and threw him into the car trunk, then sped away. I catch sight of the license plate. 

‘Oh God, not them again.’ I think. 

They are the guys who have a deal in with Katniss’s family. Things must’ve gone south for them to come back. And to take Prim. I hurry to my car and drive to follow them. I have to stop them from hurting Katniss and her family. Enough has happened because of me. They don’t need anything more to go wrong. And when the mafia of Coriolanus Snow is ever involved with anything…..things always go bad. Always. He shows no mercy. And will not hesitate to kill. I’ve seen what he can do….. and it isn’t good. And if his wife, Alma Coin, is involved…...things are definitely not good. I follow them close, yet far away. I don’t want them to know I am following them. Then they would send people after me next. They get onto their street and I park a few houses down. They throw things in the window of their house. One forces Prim out and holds a knife to her throat. I can see them talking, but can’t hear. They go inside their home. I get out and go inside, without even thinking of the consequences of trying to stop the most powerful mafia in Panem. 

“Let her go!” I yell at him, pulling out a gun. 

“Gale?” I hear Katniss gasp from behind me.

I spin around to face her as she stands in the doorway with tears streaming down her face as the intruders continue to ransack the house around us. I fire a round of shots, careful not to shoot anyone else other than the mafia who all duck behind furniture as bullets bury themselves deep into the walls around us. They fire back with more force and deadlier bullets.

Katniss’s P.O.V

It all happens so fast. A person uses a spray gun, the type that induces cardiac arrest as it sprays cyanide capsules. Gale falls to the ground, as the gang jumps through the broken windows, holding the money they wanted and leaving us with the damage they caused.

‘It’s ok, they’re not gonna hurt you anymore.’ Danny whispers gently, ‘it’s all over. They’ve gone.’

He hugs me tightly as multiple cop cars and an ambulance pulls up outside the house, followed by four cars from which the familiar faces of Jorel, George, Jordan, and Dylan as they make their way towards the house. They eye the now ruined windows of the house as the police border the house with yellow ‘Do Not Cross’ tape.

‘Dude! What happened to her-?'  Jorel stops in his tracks when he sees Peeta, ‘Kat, what’s that thing doing here?’ Jorel spits, ‘thought we didn’t associate ourselves with lowlife scum like himself?’

‘Look, just forget about that now, alright?!’ I finally say what I’ve always wanted to since they started acting like even younger kids, forever arguing and fighting. Hell, even Ruby is more mature than them and she’s only a few months old!, ‘all of you stop it with your bickering and cussing each other out!’

They look at me, surprised at my outburst. But I was ready to burst. No one knows but I still love Peeta, I forgave him for cheating a long time ago but if I tell anyone they’ll call me weak and ask me why I still love him. I don’t know myself why I do.

‘Well maybe he shouldn’t cheat and sleep with someone’s fucking wife!’ Danny exclaims.

‘Oh would you forget about that already?!’ I yell back at him. ‘I’m done. I have, so you guys should too!!’

I walk away from all of them. Leaving Peeta as well. My Dad comes to me. He embraces me with a safe hug. He lets me go and brings me to Prim. I hold her tightly and she cries on me. My Dad hugs the both of us. 

“Miss?” A paramedic says to me. “Come with me please.”

My Dad and Prim let me go. I follow the paramedic to another ambulance. Some paramedics are helping to lift Gale’s lifeless body into the back of an ambulance, his body covered with a white fabric. The heart attack gun finished him off without another round needed.

~Few days later~

Well, me and Peeta aren’t as angry towards each other, much to the dismay of HU, but we don’t care; Ruby has her dad back at last and I have my husband back, too.

We eat dinner in silence, only talking when we want the other to pass something. After dinner, I take Ruby up to her room which means I’m left alone with Peeta to make small talk about anything we can think of. Prim leaves because of the tension between the two of us.

‘So.’ Peeta says as he, for some reason, grabs a towel, ‘care to join me?’

I nod and do the same as we head out of the house to the pool in the backyard. We slip off our clothes and step into the pool. It’s warm against our cool skin. Cool skin for now, that is.

We’re gonna get spicy, lads, lasses, and non-binary pals. Proceed with caution and read at your own risk- Ruby/Avo.

It starts off with a small kiss that turns into a makeout session which in turn becomes the touchy-feely part that comes before the heat of the moment. 

He pulls away and slowly takes his swimming trunks off, his erect member bobbing in the gentle movement of the water around it. 

'You see what you do to me, Katniss..?' He growls into my lips.

'Oh, shut up. I wasn't the one who left. I've had needs too, you know? You ass.' I say between passionate kisses.  

I engulf it with my mouth, bobbing my head up and down as Peeta emits moans. I stop as he’s on the verge of… arriving if you know what I mean. I lower myself down, moans of pleasure let out as I do so. The sensation is brilliant as pleasure ripples throughout my body as both me and Peeta moan out in pleasure together.

A gasp comes from behind us as Peeta pushes me off him quickly. Prim is stood there, now with her hands covering her eyes as she quickly makes her way back into the house. 

Prim’s P.O.V

I can’t believe what I just saw. Katniss and Peeta, in the pool, having sex. As a 14 year old, I should not have to witness that even if I am training to become a doctor. But I decide to do the rational thing and text the HU crew.

Me: Guys, you there? :3

Danny:  Watz good, Rose? 

J-D: Everythin good? 

Me: Um…..

J3T: Wat up, lil Miss? 

Me: Something…. Kinda went down… and idk what to do! Can you guys help!?!?

Danny: Fo sho, Rose. Wat happened?

Me: ....um… idk really how to say it… >~< 

J-D: Spill, young Padawan.

FunMan: You okay, gurl? What up?

CharScene: Spill, Prim.

Me: I saw Katniss and Peeta… 👉👌…. 😖!!!

Danny: WTF?! ARE U SERIOUS?! 

Me: yeah… >~< !!! What do I do, guys?!

J-D: Nothin, we’re coming over rn! 

Me: um… kk… 😳💕

FunnMan: Get my Goddaughter outta there! That’s ridiculous!! That’s sick!!

CharScene: We’re comin, now. Don’t move.. 😠

J3T: They’re boutta get a full on ass-kickin. Especially that so-called, ‘husband’ of her’s!!! 😡

Danny: You mean, “Manwhore!!” Fuckin pig. You just hold on, Prim. We’re almost there. We’ll help.

‘Oh, boy.. What are they going to do to them…?’ I think. ‘I don’t even want to know…’  

I hear angry voices outside and a forceful knock on the door. I open it and Dylan is stood there, along with Danny, Jordan, George, and Jorel. They all look absolutely furious.

‘Where are they?!’ Danny asks me, the fury burning in his eyes.

‘P-Please don’t do anything.’ I plead with them.  

Only Dylan’s face softens as he says, ‘we won’t, chica, but I think that cholo will, though.’ 

I watch as Danny storms through the house, looking around for Katniss and Peeta. Katniss comes in from outside with a surprised look on her face as she sees me standing with HU.

‘Guys, what are you doing here?’ She asks them.

‘Prim told us that she saw you chupando Peeta’s pito.’ Dylan tells her quietly so I don’t hear.

‘What?’ Katniss asks, confused.  

‘She saw you suck Peeta’s dick.’ Jordan says bluntly.

‘Where is he?!’ Danny exclaims.

He stops halfway down the stairs as he spots Katniss and narrows his eyes.

‘And why did you go back to that manwhore?’ Danny asks her.

‘I’m right here.’ Peeta makes his presence known.

‘No one gives a shit, Peeta.’ Danny says with an annoyed tone, ‘I’m trying to talk to Katniss.’

Peeta pretends to check his watch, ‘it’s currently half past I don’t give a fuck.’

We have to restrain Danny from hurting Peeta as we all shout at him to not hurt Peeta whether he deserves it or not.

‘Danny, stop!’ I yell as I pull him back with help from George.

‘No! I won’t fucking stop! Why should I?!’ He shouts.

‘HE DOESN’T DESERVE IT!’ I shriek, ‘SO WILL YOU STOP ACTING LIKE TWO KIDS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND GET ALONG FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIVES?!’

‘Damn, chica.’ Dylan says, ‘someone reached their breaking point..?'

'Yes. I have. And I bet they are done too!' I say, frustrated. 'We all need a break and time away. This can't keep up… Agreed? Just a little time away to grow up, and move on?' 

Everyone looks at one another. With glares, or pity, and anger. 

'This is so old now… And needs to stop. A break would be best, I think. Say a few months?' I say and sigh. 

Everyone grumbles in agreement. 

'Good. Now all of you grow the hell up before coming back, you hear?' I say sternly.

They agree, then we all part. I start the time for these adults to grow up.
