FYI: Ash does Not nor has Ever punched Hiccupa or hit her because dudes hitting chicks is wrong.

Hiccupa's Pov:

I climbed on Toothless onto the saddle clipping my peg leg into the tail fin controls. Once I was strapped in and ready I said "Alright Bud take me wherever you want to go let the wind be your guide."

Toothless stretched out his massive black wings and leaped off of Gothi's hill top home catching an updraft immediately. He then started pumping his wings we went flying over Berk setting out over the sea. I reached my hands and loosened my hair from its ponytail and let my hair spill loose letting wind catch it and toss it wildly around my face. I stretched my arms out as we sailed over the sea.

Toothless glided down till he was just above the sea letting the waves splash out at us. I could smell and taste the salt of the water as the surf splashed at me. I trailed my hand down allowing my fingers to dip and trail through the waves making ripples in the water. Then Toothless raised himself up as we flew through the sea stacks dodging to avoid them as we had learned so long ago. Once we were free of the sea stacks he continued on his flight. Up here with Toothless with the wind blowing in my hair was when I truly felt free and all of my troubles disappeared.

~~~Time Skip~~~

We'd been gone all afternoon. We landed on an island where Toothless caught us some fish he lit a fire for me so I could cook my fish while he wolfed his down as always. Afterwards  we took a  me resting against his side wrapped in his wings listening to his heartbeat and his breathing. It was late afternoon by the time we arrived back at Berk. We headed back to the house Dad would probably want his dinner soon. Suddenly my troubles which I had forgotten about while flying were coming back to me as we approached my house.  I was surprised to see Ruffnut waiting outside the door.

"Ruffnut what are you doing here? are you waiting to see Stoick?" I asked her.

"Now why would I want to see Stoick when its you I want to see" she replied back cheekily.

I was taken aback since it was rare anyone came to the house they usually just waited to see me at the academy or when I was at the forge since I was not much of a homebody. "OK What can I help you with?  then I just got back from flying with Toothless" I replied.

"I can see that" she said gesturing to my hair which was a wild untamed mess at the moment. Then she grabbed my hand and starting pulling me in the house "Actually its not me who needs you its Ash" she said. "Ash? whats wrong is he in trouble?" I asked her.

"No, he wants to meet you in the cove" she replied to my question. "Oh if that's all I'll just get back on Toothless and fly over there" I said nonchalantly. I really wanted to see him since it had been awhile since we had even had a simple conversation together. A look of horror ran across her face "You can't go looking like that" she said in shock. "What difference does it make how I look it's just the cove. Ash has seen me at least a hundred times like this and probably worse"  I said. We reached my bedroom just the same where she immediately began going through my wardrobe.

"Brush your hair" she ordered. "Yes, Ma'am" I said with as much sarcasm as I could muster. What is with everybody today I thought as I stroked knots out of my hair I was about to put it back in a ponytail when Ruffnut stopped me. She handed me a dress.

"I haven't worn this in ages what's the occasion I asked?" surprised. "Uh, well I promised not to tell just to make sure you show up" said Ruffnut as she helped me into the dress doing up the laces in the back for me. Then she started braiding my hair in the back and wrapping gold ribbons through them. After that she looked at my face adding some touches of powder I never used and dabbing wax along my lips to make them shine when she was done. "Now take a look at yourself" she said looking proud of herself. I had to admit I looked beautiful a far cry from the gangly little girl I was all those years ago who never thought anyone would give her the time of day.

"Now you need to get going" she told me. "Ruffnut I don't know what is going on but Thank you." I said as we left my house. Even Toothless looked a bit surprise seeing me his eyes seemed to double in size.  "Only one problem how am I going to ride Toothless in this long of a dress?" I asked Ruffnut. She gave me a smirk "Really Hiccupa has something as minor as that ever stopped you from flying Toothless" she asked. "Your right" I said climbing up on Toothless and adjusting the skirts of the dress over the saddle and fastening my peg leg into the flight gear.

"Come on Bud let's go to the cove and see what Ash has planned for us" I told Toothless even then I was starting to feel a bit nervous. Many different scenarios were running through my mind Ash was very handsome and a strong Viking warrior surely he could have any share of young maidens would he really want to waste his time with a skinny girl with a peg leg. After all if their were no eligible maidens in Berk there were other villages and islands he could visit. Perhaps ones who were raised as girls and not by fathers who didn't know any better so he  shoved his only daughter and child into a blacksmith apprenticeship at a young age to keep her out of trouble. While he could watch over a village as chief. The thoughts only making me feel worse and defeated. I shook my head and tried focusing on the flight ahead the short distance it was to the cove.

The sun was setting painting the sky in colors of oranges, pinks, and purples one of my favorite times of day to see all the different colors stretching across the sky and watching twilight spread. I decided to focus on the sunset instead of traitorous thoughts or I would just go home and give up on whatever relationship I had left with Ash. I looked down at the forest looking at all the trees stretching out until I saw the cove and the clear blue pool in the center of it. " Alright there it is Bud lets go in for a nice smooth landing try to avoid any mud. I'm in my only good dress" I told him.

He landed gracefully down in the cove the sky was growing darker. I didn't see any sign of Ash yet which made me feel a little anxious but I was with Toothless so I wasn't alone at least. I slide my peg leg out of the flight gear and carefully dismounted Toothless taking care of not snagging my dress on my peg leg. I look around that's when I see the candles and flowers everywhere and I am caught completely off guard.

Ash's POV:

I saw Toothless's shadow fly over head and took a deep breath it was time I only hope all the planning and preparations I had made paid off or I will be a laughingstock after this. I hated keeping a secret from Hiccupa like this but it was the only way I knew I could do this without an audience in our small village where everybody know everything. Even then all the villagers knew today was the day I was going to propose I had made sure everyone swore to secrecy and to keep Hiccupa distracted and unaware.

Their she is now climbing off Toothless Gods she looks beautiful Ruffnut really did a good job when she said she would make sure she would be at the cove. Would Hiccupa want to bother with me? I mean she is an intelligent woman who was able to train dragons and bring down the red death. Not to mention she is next to be Chieftess of the tribe she could find someone else out their worthy of her. Could she? Would she? She's looking around for someone which is obviously me alright Hofferson you won't know unless you go up their and ask her.

I step out of the woods and into the fading light walking towards Hiccupa.
