Hiccupa' POV:

I see Ash stepping out of the trees and breathe a sigh of relief as he walks towards me so I walk towards him as well. Toothless goes off to lay down by the cliff face in the background. I walk up to him "Ash what have you been up to? I was worried" I asked him. "Sorry Hiccupa I had to keep all this a secret or else it wouldn't be special. I wanted something that was personal and just ours for once" he replied. Then he took my hand and guided me over to the flowers and candles

"I hope your hungry? I arranged a dinner for us" he said gesturing to a blanket spread out on the ground complete with plates, tankards, and a basket. As we sat he started unpacking the basket which had a roast chicken, a salad, fruit, and mead and he started serving me. "I must say I am very surprised by all of this I will have to say pleasantly so" I said as he handed me a plate. As we ate the sun finished setting and it was truly dark but all the candles and lanterns that had been spread about the cove made up for the lack of sunlight. After we finished Ash packed up the leftover food and plates.

Then he stood up and offered me his hand "Milady" he said. I smiled and took his hand and he helped me up. "Thank you that was delicious" I said. "You are very welcome" he replied.

We started walking along the cove by the water the stars and moon reflecting on the water it was a clear sky no clouds. Then Ash started to speak "Hiccupa over the years we have grown to know each other better then we had when we were children. That was my fault for not realizing how truly special you really were and I regret it everyday that I was not their for you earlier in life but I am not making up for lost time." I was taken aback I didn't know Ash had felt this way "Ash I forgive you after all you were only a child."

"True, but I was dishonest in my feelings for you for along time that had nothing to do with childhood it was all my stubborn pride getting in the way." he confessed. "You have made me a better man showing me that courage does not only exist in strength and brawn but in intelligence and kindness" he said smiling down at me. "To consciously question what we have always done instead of always blindly following protocol to listen to my conscience as well as my heart. You have also taught me what we once thought were monsters were not at all but valuable companions and I cannot imagine my life without Stormfly in it now. Because of all these qualities I thank you Hiccupa." He took in a deep breath and reached into his vest pulling something out I couldn't see. "I know these meager phrases are not worthy of your favor I have trouble expressing myself through words. I have been practicing what I wanted to tell you and I hope you appreciate what I have told you" he said.

"Of course Ash these are beautiful words your telling me I thank you" I told him smiling up at him.

Then he went down on one knee. I gasped this cannot be happening I have heard this is what happens but I could not believe it was happening to me. I felt myself start to tremble with nerves and had to breathe to calm myself.

Ash then spoke "Hiccupa I want to walk by your side through this journey of life. I want you to be my equal. I will be Your protector. Your lover. I want you to be the mother of my children. Will you please give me the honor of saying yes to being my wife?"

I was still in a state of shock but then I smiled at him and started nodding my head yes and then I said "Yes, Ash yes I will be your wife and you will be my husband." I then threw my arms around his neck he lifted up off his knee meeting me in a kiss and picking me up off the ground. We embraced our lips pressed together mouths opening and tongues lightly touching until we pulled apart. Then he showed me the ring it was silver with Celtic knot work and had a ruby in it he slid it onto my left ring finger. I smiled down at it and then we met together again in another passionate kiss our tongues pressing against each other hands circling against our backs.

Ash leaned his forehead against mine and said "I Love you Hiccupa."

I leaned my forehead against his and said "I Love you too. Ash."

He pulled apart from me and looked up at the sky "It's getting late Hiccupa I should get you home before Stoick has me flogged" he said with a playful laugh.

"Well he better not or he's not invited to the wedding" I said laughing along with Ash.

"I don't  want to get on either of your bad sides. I am in a lot of trouble now" Ash said laughing loudly. I smacked him in the arm "Very funny ha, ha" I said sarcastically back.

"Wait right here" he said he kissed me on the cheek then went off to blow out candles. He came back when he was finished and said "Well shall I ride with you and Toothless or would you like me to call Stormfly?"

"Why don't you ride with us after all won't you want to tell Stoick the news." I replied.

"That's just the thing everybody in the village knew about the engagement you were the last to know." He said as he climbed up behind me on Toothless "Well that explains a lot." I said. As we took off into the air.

Ash's POV:

I can't believe she said yes. I'm absolutely dumbstruck this beautiful woman who I have seen evolve and grow over the years wants to spend the rest of her life with me. I will do all I can to protect her and make her happy so help me Thor. All I can think about is our life together as my hands are wrapped around her slender waist as we ride through the night sky on her nightfury. She is probably the bravest person I have ever known and that is saying a lot growing up around vikings my whole life. No one believed in her but I have always believed in even when I found myself having my own doubts.

We came in for a landing outside her house she is getting ready to slide off first but I stop her "Please allow me Milady" I said sliding off Toothless. Then I reach up and grasp her around the waist and set her down on the ground. I know she's perfectly capable of doing herself but I feel like being extra chivalrous this night maybe its the mead or the fuzzy feeling I have of being in love and happy. I swing her around and pull her in for a kiss before I set her down. She gives me a smirk and said "Now your just being ridiculous."

"Can't a man be ridiculous after asking the woman he loves to marry him and being accepted" I said in a teasing tone. "Well when you put it that way all is forgiven" she says then she gives me one last kiss and says "Goodnight Ash I love you and will see you tomorrow"

"Goodnight Hiccupa I love you and will see you tomorrow." I tell her back.

Then I watch as she walks up the stairs to her house she opens the door and is surrounded my firelight she smiles at me and waves and then turns around and goes inside and shuts the door.

I then pump my fist in the air in triumph looking up at the moon.
