Eyes

About a week later, Stan came back , this time being for a regular visit. Kyle greeted him at the door as always however this time, Stan could tell something was off. His friend didn't seem to smile, and when he did, it looked fake.

"Is there something wrong, dude? I'm here if you need me.", he sat down next to Kyle and scooted closer to him.

" Nah dude. It's cool. Shit is happening..."

"And?", pressed Stan, noticing his friend was being a little closed off.

"It's not just school... it's-" he hesitated, "it's also Y/n." He said, looking off to the side, embarrassed.

" What about her?" Asked Stan , suppressing the urge to roast Kyle.

The other looked around, before leaning closer to his friend's ear and whispering ," do you remember the new guy?" , as he then checked if anyone was somehow overhearing their conversation.

"Yeah, why? Is he in your way?" Asked Stan, trying to understand why Tate was suddenly brought into the conversation.

Kyle clenched his fist.

" That fucking bastard is flirting with her." He said, stomping his foot.

Stan eventually couldn't take it anymore.

"Oooh, someone is jealous~" He cooed, looking proud.

" Shut the fuck up dude. You know what it's like." Kyle leaned his head in his hands, closing his eyes.

He thought of Y/n. The only girl in South Park that genuinely seemed cool to him, not only that but she was also very smart.

They had met about three years ago. It was only last year when Kyle had realized (with the help of Stan) that he had feelings for her and now he had to try and deal with the fact that she may be taken away by some prick that had nothing better to do than to travel to Colorado and so conveniently meet her.

Stan smiled at Kyle in disbelief, not wanting to believe that his friend could be so dumb.

" Kyle the only way out of this for you , is to grow a pair and confess." Sighed his friend, placing a hand on the other's shoulder. Kyle quickly flinched, staring at Stan as if he had grown another head.

"What the actual fuck?! I can't do that!" He cried, standing up.

"Well then deal with it instead of crying about it." Said Stan.

"Dude! I'm still thinking about it and I will not let that son of a bitch take her away from me."said Kyle, with his face undeniably red, "he'll see! I'll treat her better than he ever will!"

" I know you will, Kyle." Said Stan, standing up and placing a hand on his friend's shoulder." You're a wuss, but I think that's what will help charm her."

"Really?" Asked Kyle, turning to Stan with hope shimmering in his eyes.

"No." Smirked Stan before being shoved away by his friend ,who now had a red face.

"Y/n..." said Kyle, leaving his adorning gaze upon her. He wasn't expecting to find her at the library, and yet, here he was, staring at her smaller form.

One could easily tell that he was in love.

"Oh! Hello. What are doing here? School ended ages ago." She said gently, closing the book she had in her hand, putting it back on it's shelf and walking over to Kyle. She too , had a peculiar gaze directed towards him.

The boy smiled.

"I just genuinely had nothing better to do than to come here. A pretty good opportunity to relax."

Y/n smiled and nodded."Agreed. I'm just here to escape my family...and to study because in all honesty I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing at [subject you suck at]."

The two of them laughed.

"I know. It'll be okay. You still have time to fix your grades." Said Kyle, trying to be optimistic, as the two of them left the library to go for a walk.

"What have you been up to, dude? You seem gloomy. Did something happen?" Asked Y/n, her smile faltering, looking concerned.

The male couldn't help but think about Tate. He wanted to stop him from trying to charm Y/n. He hated to admit the fact that he was jealous. He wanted the girl to at least notice how much he admired her since she was probably the only person that didn't judge him.

" It's cool." He said blandly, putting on a fake smile and trying to stop his fist from clenching. He was surprised at how easily she could read him, after knowing him for just three years.

"Kyle, I know that look. What's going on?" she pushed ,walking closer to the male, leaving their hands to helplessly brush against eachother. This small action left Kyle flustered , making him avert his gaze from her.

The girl noticed how sad his eyes looked, despite his faltering, bright smile.

They were silent for a couple of moments.

"Do you know Tate?" Asked Kyle, thinking of a smart way to voice his anger.

"Yeah,he's the new guy."said Y/n, trying to meet the male's eyes.

Kyle simply hummed, "Yeah. I don't like him.", then turned to face Y/n with a serious expression.

"I don't like him at all."

Y/n slowed down, confused. The other stopped in his tracks too but couldn't bring himself to look at her.

"What? Do you like him?" He asked, desperate to know.

"Well...he's okay...", the girl hesitated, taking slow steps towards Kyle, trying to close the distance between them.

"What do you mean he's "okay"? He talked to you all week!"

" Yeah and?" The girl asked, getting slightly irritated with Kyle's unusual lack of expression.

The male noticed this and stopped trying.

"You know what? Let's just drop it. Seriously."

"But-"

"No, it's okay. I just have a grudge. It's cool."He interrupted, trying to give her his best smile.

The girl said nothing. She simply walked closer to him and gently placed a hand on his arm. The male knew where this was headed, getting slightly exited, with his smile faltering and and unconsciously locking eyes with the girl in front of him.

It was one of those rarely occurring moments, when both of them had nothing better to say, so they would simply decide to get lost in eachother's eyes and admire the light pooling in their pupils.

For a few seconds, Y/n had forgotten why she was even upset.

Kyle's eyes shone a beautiful emerald green, that shimmered and reflected the light like an actual gem. His red hair was only making his pupils stand out more.

Even Kyle had trouble focusing on what was around him.

Y/n's eyes sparkled with a yellowish tone in the afternoon sun, her face was slightly pale, and her [h/c] hair reflected the light of the sun, leaving her to shine a beautiful, warm color.

"Uh...um" tried Kyle, failing to bring himself out of this odd trance. That's why he loved when this happened. He felt chills running down his spine, as the thrill of having someone look at you like this, as if two souls would be performing a quiet exchange of spirit and heart, he felt a beautiful, euphoric feeling inside his chest. His talk with Stan had made him realize some things.

He knew now. He knew very well, that he had fallen deeply in love with the girl that stood before him.
