2. Aelin
(For the purposes of my fic, when Aelin fell through the worlds and saw Rhys and Feyre, Feyre wasn't pregnant yet)
The midnight voice belonged to a beautiful fae male, recognition flared in the back of Aelin's mind, but like the wyrd marks she couldn't figure it out. Pushing the nagging thought away she took a small step forward, plastered an innocent smile on her face and said, "Well,we were just minding our own business, and poof," she lifted her arms for emphasis, "here we are."
It was mostly true, except that they had intentional created a portal, but the pretty male didn't need to know that just yet.
"You expect us to believe that?" An equally pretty female said as she seemed to step out of nowhere. The part of her that seemed to recognise the male, perked up again, she recognised the female as well.
"Yes," she said simply, hiding her surprise at the arrival of the female. Rowan, standing to her left had his hand casually resting on his hatchet strapped to his side, though she knew that the real blow would come from his magic, should the need arise, although now that she thought about her magic felt different here, not stronger or weaker, just different.
But no-one moved a muscle, each sizing up the other.
A breeze blew through the open arches that boarded the room on three of its sides. The two fae seemed to be holding a silent conversation.
"Would you care to tell me how you came to be in my living room?" the male slipped his hands into the pockets of his pants. A fine make Aelin noted.
"Like she said, poof," Aedion answered flatly, he seemed to be sizing up the male, preparing to fight if he had to. Aelin turned to look at Rowan, who nodded slightly, as if to say, your call. She looked to Aedion, who had a similar expression to Rowan.
"Well, with that sorted," Aelin spoke up, "we shall be on our way." She began walking towards a darkened doorway, she had no idea where it would lead but it was better than nothing. But they were stopped short when the male appeared in-front of them, like he simply took a step. Like Fenrys's gift, she thought.
"You are going nowhere," the male said, "these are my lands, it is my duty to protect them," he paused, surveying the four of them, "so you will come with us."
"We have no quarrel with you," Rowans voice rumbled from beside Aelin, "we mean your lands no harm." Aelin could feel the chill of the stone floor seeping through her boots, the sooner they left, the better.
"That may be so, but it was not a request." A presence shifted behind her, and faster than Aelin cared to admit, a hand shot out and latched onto her shoulder. Before she could fully register what was happening, shadows surrounded her and the sensation of falling filled her senses.
