foreword

Skeleton bones hung from trees, cobwebs we're shoved in bushes and the festivities were on.
One week, and a day, of Halloween is what their town celebrated, day of the dead as well.
Sunday, day one, parties
Monday, day two, everything seventy percent off
Tuesday, day three, teens are in charge
Wednesday, day four, parties again
Thursday, day five, trick or treating
Friday, day six, Halloween
Saturday, day seven, day of the dead
Sunday, day eight, day of the dead.

A small boy walked through the dark halls, filled with scary sights. He clutched his little pale filled with treats closely to his chest. A scream echoed in front of him, causing him to jump. He urged to turn around and run away but he didn't. A shadow popped out of nowhere, scaring the kid. He let out a short scream in that moment.

The shadow leaned closer, their face coming to, there face was soft and angled, white and black lines painting the cheeks and skin. Her hair cascaded down her back, laid on her shoulders. It looked umber and soft.

The boys emotions softened as he saw her loving eyes. But that feeling didn't last.

Her fingers brushed away the hair lined on the boys forehead only mere seconds before she let out a piercing scream.

She fell to the floor clutching her stomach. The boy wearily looked up, becoming face to face with a man in a ski mask. He held a bloodied axe.

The boy's screams echoed in the haunted house as he ran out, to find his mother, to beg her to go home.

As the hall emptied, the girl opened an eye open before she stood up with the help of the man.

He pulled off his mask and laughed, punching the girl's shoulder softly.

She smiled back at the colored haired boy and laughed with him.

They had cared about the boy, yes, but on Halloween it was their job to not care and, to scare.
