I am terribly sorry you have had to wait so long. I don't like dragging out things and that is what I have done. The Prologue is no longer there as I couldn't stand looking at it without cringing and because I wanted to change a few things. If you missed it, trust me that I am glad you did. Now on with the story!

Tuesday; 12:00 noon
Today is the day; (Y/N) could feel it. She was going to find a place to stay and become independent! It's not that she didn't like living with her parents but she is twenty one and ready to take the next step.

(Y/n) had saved up her money that she got from her job with $2,761 dollars to start off. Now all she had to do was find an apartment that wasn't in a bad neighborhood, which is a little tricky considering the town she lived in.

Walking through town, wondering where she should try this time, (Y/n) thoughts were interrupted thanks to her cell phone ringing. She looked at the name to see it was her best friend and coworker, Ryu.

She met him in elementary school at recess, the two of them clicked and it started a beautiful friendship. He has white hair and red eyes, his height is about 5'9 so she is only a little (shorter/taller) than he is.

"Hey Ryu! What's up? I thought you had to work today." You questioned him.

"Oh ha ha, you know I do. Actually, that's why I'm calling, we are a little short handed here at the bakery...do you think you can come in?"

"But I'm looking for an apartment! Can't you call Sara? I'm sure she wouldn't mind working with you." You teased. Sara is not the nicest person in the world, the only person she seems to do ok with is Ryu. Mostly it's because she has a crush on him.

"Uuuggghhh, I won't get any work done with her clinging to me! Please, as my best friend, please come and help me! If anything, it's the Boss lady that wanted me to call you!" Ryu whined.

"Fine, I'll come in, but you have to help me search for an apartment later. Got it?"

"Yes! Anything! Thank you so much!"

"Yea, yea, I'm headed for the bakery now. Be there in ten." You finished and hung up.

You let out a sigh, well, maybe today was not the day. Oh well, maybe you could try tomorrow after your classes at the college.

You finally made it to work, it wasn't a fancy bakery, but it did the job for the small town. You walked in, inhaling deeply, the sweet smell of sugar and icing filling your nose.

The pink, blue, and purple frosting covered cupcakes on display for the world to see. All different types of cakes stayed behind the glass of the counter where the cash register sat, tempting you to take a piece but you refrained.

Inside was, to your actual surprise, full of customers. Ryu, kind of had a tendency to over exaggerate, so when he said they were packed, you thought there would only be seven or so people. There was probably twenty people here!

You were suddenly engulfed in a hug by none other than Ryu and you returned the hug lazily.

"You have no idea how much this means to me!" he practically yelled in your ear.
You quickly jerked back and pulled out of his hug and held your ear. That was loud!

"Yea, no problem. Now look out, I got a job to do." You said and popped your fingers and started to thin out the customers.

7:30 pm
(Y/n) could finally switch the open sign to close. She turned to see if her trusty friend had finished cleaning the rest of the store. "Well, today was certainly busy." You commented.

"Yea, it sure was. Thank goodness it's over." He agreed. "And since you had to walk here, I will drive you home."

"Thanks! Wait...are you only saying that because you want my family to feed you?" you asked him.
"Well, if you're offering, then yea I will come eat with you guys!" Ryu said with a big grin
You gave him a look of disbelief, but let it go. You were ready for something to eat.

Finally making it home, the two of you walked through the door and before you could announce your arrival, Ryu spoke, "Mom! Dad! We're home!"

He liked to address your parents as his just to annoy them, but it doesn't really work.

"oh Ryu, I'm so glad you came! We prepared yours and (Y/n)'s favorite, (Favorite food)." Your mother said.

"Yes! I knew I made a good decision to bring you home!" Your eccentric friend exclaimed.

"Also, (y/n), I have something I think you might enjoy!" Your father said with excitement and handed you an envelope.

On the envelope was the words "Congratulations!" You tore it open and begun to read,

"Congratulations (Y/N)! We are pleased to announce that you have entered and won the contest for the first ever Smart House! New Technology has allowed us to create a house that takes care of your every need, such as vacuuming, sweeping and cleaning by itself! Meals are cooked for you and the bed makes itself as well! As this is the first ever Smart House, the house will be fully furnished, and we will be taking care of the financing for you. All you have to do is buy your own food ingredients and anything else you want to have!

You couldn't believe it! No, really, you couldn't. You never entered a contest! You look to your family and friend and made a, this-is-bull-crap face.

"What did it say?" Ryu asked and snatched the letter from your hand.

"I never entered a contest for a house! This must be a scam!" you told your mother and father. They just looked at you and smiled more.

"No, but we did." Your mom said.

"This is amazing! Ryu, maybe you can live there with me!" you exclaimed.

Ryu gave you a look though, "You do realize you are basically a guinea pig for this right? This is the first ever smart house so they are using you as a test subject. Besides, it's an hour drive, that's too far for me!"

Way to ruin it dude.

"oh come on! Live a little, besides, you owe me for today and you said you would do anything if I came in. So technically, you have to go stay with me for a little while at this house. Please?" You even pulled the puppy dog eyes

He gave a defeated sigh, "Fine, but only for a few days."

YES! You're finally going to be on your on!
