Percy should of been terrified. He should of been trying to think of a plan. And he definitely should of been trying to protect Annabeth. Instead he did the natural Percy thing and said

"Woah. You are one big spider!"

"Excuse me?" Arachne hissed.

"Well, I mean look at yourself. Your huge! Back in New York the biggest spider i saw was like the size of my hand! But you? Its like someone took that spider and went POOF!"

Ok, Percy has no idea why he had said that but he did. Luckily, Arachne was more perplexed then angry. Even Annabeth seemed confused. They both looked at Percy like he had lost his mind. Which he probably had.

"Anywaaaaaaay," Percy said. "I guess you're going to eat us or something."

Arachne blinked with all four of her eyes. "Yes. I was going to do that. But first I need to know....was that a compliment?"

"Oh, um of course it was! I mean look at the size of your legs and head and....butt? Do spiders have butts? I mean I guess you do cause how would you go to the bathroom? Wait, do bugs even go to the bathroom? You know what? I dont want to know."

Smooth Percy

 Luckily Annabeth became unfrozen and was able to prevent him from embarrasing himself even more.

"Arachne, what do you want?" she asked. Percy could tell she was scared but she held it in. For him. Percy felt a warm feeling. If he was going to die, at least he would die with an awesome girlfriend who could stand up to killer spiders.

Arachne glared at Annabeth. "Isn't it obvious? You tricked me, stole my statue, and sent me to Tartarus! "

"I had to! You were going to kill me! And that statue belongs to the children of Athena."

"Your mother turned me into a hideous monster! Just because I was better then her!" She spat. "And if I can't get revenge on her, well I need to let my anger out on someone."

Annabeth gripped Percy's arm so hard he was worried it was turning purple. "Ok," she said. "You can have revenge on me, but you have to let Percy go unharmed. If you do so, I wont put up a fight or try to escape. You can killl me."

"Annabeh, no!" Percy protested. "You can't, I wont let you!"

"Please Percy. Dont make this any harder," she said tears forming.

Arachne looked at them, as if wondering which demigod to eat first. "I have a better idea. I'll have my revenge. But it wont be on you dear."

Annabeth's eyes widened. "No," she said fiercly.

"Yes!" Percy said. "Oh sorry, I didnt mean to yell I just dont want you to die. Arachne carry on."

She hissed at him. "I will be back in two hours. Say your goodbyes." She walked, or crawled, or did something out the cavern. "Oh and if either one of you tries to escape, you will have a much more painful death then what i have planned."

"Percy," Annabeth said. "I'm so sorry."

DONE! ok finished that chapter yay! ok so I  asked you all down here because I need  your help. I'm thinking about writing my own story that not about Percy jackson. And I dont know what to name the main character. I've narrowed it down to
