Hazel watched as Jason and the hellhound dissapeared into the shadows. She really hoped he would come back. Piper would probably go into depression if he died. Or worse. She would go crazy and start wearing makeup. Hazel shuddered at the thought of Piper wearing mascara. That would probably be the scariest thing EVER.

The idea made her laugh, and Leo noticed. He raised his eyebrows like 'why are you laughing Jason is gone!'

Sheb lushed and looked at the ground. She was pretty uncomfortable around Leo. She had basically just told him that she LOVED him INFRONT of her BOYFRIEND! What the POOP was wrong with her?

Hedge let out a goat bleet and went to his room, saying,"I can't believe I just waisted my celery on a dead man. What was I thinking?"

Nico glanced at his sister and followed Hedge dowstaires.

That left Hazel and Leo.

Akward wasn't the word to describe how Hazel felt. They would have to come up with a totally new word ten times as worse to even come close to understanding what was going on inside Hazel's stomach. She felt like the butterflies were riding horses and going nuts, like they had just eaten a lot of sugar cubes.

And Leo didn't make her feel any better. He shifted from foot to foot and said. "Nice weather were having huh?"

"Um...yeah. It's pretty nice. I guess."

"Kind of breezy."

"Yeah."

"But, still a little hot."

"Uh huh."

Leo stopped talking and Hazel was grateful. It, was so quiet; they could hear Piper sobbing, Frank stomping, and Hedge yelling, "HA!" he was probably practicing his judo moves.

Hazel glanced at Leo and they're eyes locked. They stared at eachother for way too long. She cleared her throat. "I should go check on....um....."

"Piper?" Leo supplied.

"Yeah Piper." She quickly walked to the staires. She was hoping to make a graceful exit, but she wasn't that lucky. She tripped over Leo's shoes and nearly fell on her face. Fourtanetly, he caught her before she brake her head on the deck.

"Thanks," she mumbled. Her cheeks were probably the color of a baboon's butt! Talk about embarrasing! Not meeting his gaze, she walked down the staires and managed to make it to Piper's door without dying.

Hazel quickly composed herself before knocking on the door. No answer. She knocked again, harder this time. Nothing.

Hazel huffed in annoyance. "Piper I know your in there. I heard you crying from upstaires."

Silence.

"Piper," Hazel said. She was starting to get nervous. "Piper come on. This is serious. I need to talk to you."

 She couldn't take it anymore. She opened the door, feeling like a trespasser, entering someon's room without permission. She stepped in and was about to scould Piper for not answering, when she froze.

Piper's room looked like a battlefield. The walls had scratch marks and the covers on the bed were ripped to shreads. The drawers to her dresser were pulled out; lying on the floor broken. It's contents were everywhere. But one thing was missing. Piper.

Hazel felt her heart leap into her throaght. "Piper!" she yelled. "Piper, where are you?!"

She ran across the hall to Frank's room. She banged on the door. "Frank! Frank I need you!"

She waited. "Frank please!"

He opened the door, and glared down at her. "What?" he demanded.

"Frank I know your mad but I need your help! Pi-"

Frank shook his head. "What do you need my help for when you have Leo?"

Hazel's eyes filled with tears. "Frank, please just listen to me! Piper is missing and I need your help to find her! Please!"

Frank tensed. He looked reluctant to help her, but he was obviously worried about Piper. He seemed to be haing a mental battle. Finally he said "Fine. I'll help you. But only because Piper's in danger."

Hazel exhaled. She realised she'd been holding her breath. "Thank you."

She lead him to Piper's room. "I'd heared her cring a few minutes ago, But now she's just gone. I don't know what happened."

Frank looked at his surroundings. "Looks like someone was searching for somehing."

"Do you think they took Piper?"

Frank shook his head. "I don't know. We need to tell the others."

In a few minutes, everyone was gathered on deck. Hazel told her story, leaving out the part of her and Frank arguing. She wasn't ready to talk about that.

Everyone was clearly upset, but Leo looked the worst.  "I'm so stupid!" he said. "I knew I'd forgotten to do something! I didn't turn on the detector! I'm such an idiot. Now Piper's gone and it's all my fault."

Nico spoke up. "It's not your fault Leo. We've all been really distracted."

But Leo wouldn't listen. He looked like he wanted to cry and beat someone up at the same time. He was blaming himself again. He was going to die from so much stress one day. He paced the deck, complaining about how dumb he was, when Hedge got mad.

"VALDEZ! Will you SHUT UP? I understand your upset and I agree, you are stupid-"

"Gee, thanks." Leo muttered.

"-but that does not mean you can take all the blame! Its all of our faults. Now stop being a wimpy muffin and be a brave cupcake! HAVE I MADE MYSELF CLEAR?!"

Leo wiped his face; Hedge had spit in his while he was talking. "Yes ma'am, I mean sir, or goat, or coach, or um satyr?"

Hedge nodded. "Good. I rest my case. Now, about Pooper-

"Piper" Hazel said.

"Right. Where did she go?"

Hazel was about to yell at him for being such an idiot when the ship started to shake.

"What was that?" Frank said.

"Um," Leo said. "Nothing good."

"Thanks for clearing that up," Frank grumbled.

"Anytime."

"Guys!" Hazel yelled. "Sorry to breake your little bromance but I think we're under attack!"

She was right. The ship shook one more time. Then there was a boom.

Everything went black.

wooooooooop! i finished that chapter with a serious case of writers block! BOO TO THE YEAH
